I would rate a zero if I could. I am new to the area and thought - wow here is a shop with some good reveiws. My 2013 Subaru Impreza needs a new transmission. Rick said that he could make that happen. He found a transmission after some searching in Conneticut with 55k on it. WoW! That is great. He got the transmission, which he had to travel to get - and I paid for that time, brought it back to his shop and replaced the bad one. I am driving to work on a Friday morning with my new/used transmission and --- nope, something is not right. Pulled off the highway as the car felt like it downshifted with cruise control on. Got back to Ground Zero and spoke with Rick - Oh let me get it and see what is up. Turns out the new/used transmission - no good. OK, so another new/used transmission is searched out, picked up and installed. Today, a MONTH after the initial issue, my car is fixed (fingers crossed). Here is the kicker - I was charged an additional 600 dollars! For what?! I paid Ground Zero for a transmission, that they purchased - not me - from wherever that came from (with a markup I'm sure), and for the labor involved in getting it installed. I spoke with Lisa, who does the billing, and I was charged for some of the labor and parts required to install the second transmission!? Wait --- what? Yes, I had to pay additionally to have work done that I already paid for. Who does this? Hello, yes I would like to get a new tv. Sure. Here is the money. Thank you. Oh TV does not work - bring it back - get a new TV - wait, you have to pay for part of the second TV?!?! Here's why - I did not purchase the "labor warranty". Labor warranty? You don't guaruntee your work? Apparently not with used parts but WAIT - I bought the part from YOU Ground Zero - I did not bring in a part for you to install. Lisa says, "that's a risk you (meaning me) take when buying used parts". I DID NOT BUY IT - YOU DID! Worst experience I have ever had with any mechanic EVER! Be careful - labor warranty. Also, anytime they have a used part installed. I will never be going back to Ground Zero and I would recommend you do not either. Good luck Ground Zero Auto Repairs.
