Their food selection is good and the staff is nice. The biggest issue and reason I will not be choosing Shaws for my main grocery store is the lack of baggers available. 3/3 times I have gone and had to bag my groceries while 3+ people are in line behind me and the cashier doesn’t help. And when they do, they haphazardly add whatever is left (eg. Eggs, a not sealed box of strawberries) into whatever bag is available. I would love to shop here but I’m afraid I have to go back to Hannaford unless this gets better or you at least have self check out available.

Good shopping experience and friendly cashiers. I pick between this grocery store and others for good value and service. The app is good for ordering online and getting great deals. I would recommend to my shoppers that look for bargains and sales especially nowadays with overpriced products.

Have came here over 5x in 6months to pick up western unions and they always say they never have anyone trained to do it. If you don’t then why advertise it?

I am from the Midwest. We have Meijer. If the good people of VT or NH have the chance to visit a Meijer, I would highly recommend, as it would probably be somewhat of a heaven to you. Anyways, went to Hannaford’s twice and decided I can never go back—the combination of drab coloring and dismal produce was too much for my poor Meijer-lacking heart to handle. Tried out this Shaw’s and was pleasantly surprised. You walk in and see mounds of produce that—goody—looks like it didn’t just crawl out of the produce crypt. Granola selection, and selection in general A++. There was a dent in a giant bottle of water I bought today and the cashier literally Incredible Hulk undented it? Above and beyond lmao. Will return in the future and have decided this is the store for me while I’m stuck here. Thank you Shaw’s.

Watch for their deli meat they put out its usually there for 5 to 6 days. Kinda my fault but I grabbed one of the turkey packs and it was already 6 days old didn't notice until I got home and I don't live that close so not worth driving back. Was slimmey so had to throw it out sucks.

Worse experience with any local pickup, and with Walmart that is saying a lot. Not only were they rude, but the wife had to fetch groceries herself. Once we got home, we discovered every bag was tied in a knot and most only had 1 item per PLASTIC bag!! HANNAFORDS HANNAFORDS HANNAFORDS!!

Could of been a little cleaner but that's everywhere. Customer service is blah but that's everywhere. Some of them act like they don't want to be there... But that's everywhere. Keep your carts, baskets and bathrooms cleaner and that would improve my opinion. Also, get some employees that don't act like your existence bothers them.

I've been shopping at the West Lebanon, NH store for just over a year now. It seems that every time I try shopping there I leave frustrated, disappointed, or both. There is NEVER anyone manning the Customer Service desk, they hardly ever have an express lane open, and rarely do they have more than two registers open. The checkout lines are regularly 4-6 customers deep with large orders. I tend to shop once or twice per week so I typically have under 10 items in my cart. It's a bit disconcerting to wait 20+ behind multiple large orders just to pay for my items. If this store has staffing issues, why not add a self checkout. People who don't want to use them can still wait for a cashier while allowing others with small orders to be on their way.Another frustration is with FedEx pickup and drop-off service. When I tried dropping off a package at the Customer Service desk there was a sign that said I should proceed to the register for assistance. I met a store employee on the way and asked for help. He directed me to register 5. I look over and there were 6 people with full carts of groceries that I had to wait behind! When I finally reached the cashier she started to give me a hard time about the size of the package. I told her it was large but not very heavy (37 lbs) and offered to help her move it. She said we're only supposed to take them up to 25 lbs. I let her know that I was unaware of the policy and was surprised since I had just picked the exact same package up at her location the prior week and no one said a word. If it was a problem I should have been notified, their could have been a notice on the box or they should not have accepted delivery from the Fed Ex driver who dropped it off. All would have been better than being confronted by a frustrated cashier in front of a storefront full of customers. She eventually accepted the package. My final frustration with this store is that they often have sales for Coke and Pepsi products which never seem to be in stock. I understand that the vendors are responsible for stocking those items but there should be some kind of agreement or back stock available for the items, especially when they are a popular Digital Coupon item at a really great price. I've even gone so far as to shop for them ahead of my visit using the app. I am permitted to add them to my virtual cart. It's only when I arrive at the store that I'm told "I can't go by that". Ugh!! I'm trying to work with you Shaw's. I really am!The one thing I can count on is that this store is always spotless. Kudos for that. Unfortunately, the rest is enough to make me shop elsewhere.

this is a great shaw’s, but my one suggestion would be to carry some dairy-free/vegan halo top ice cream pints :)

They are least environmentally friendly among all the grocery stores in the area. Even if you ask for paper bags they pack everything in plastic bags

There are a number of supermarkets in the upper valley to choose from... but all in all Shaws is probably the best compromise of quality and price. Their produce section is perhaps second only to the Lebanon Co-op and honestly not by much if at all (The Co-op having a slightly larger selection of organics). Etc ...

I used to love this store but not anymore. We bought a Rotisserie chicken and it was so old the meat was green. When i went back to say something, the woman who was running the front end (wearing her name tag backward) accused me of lying and was very hostile.

After working an 8 hour day I stopped to get some things. I spent on an average of 100 dollars a visit. I don't want to have to bag my groceries, it is the cashier's job

I ? this place. There are lots of grocery choices in the area, but I usually prefer Shaws. Whoever manages Shaw's produce is doing an excellent job. The produce is always fresh, in wide variety, and priced reasonably. Get there early for some roasted or fried chicken (Best in Lebanon imo). I fail to remember a time when Shaws was out of something I needed, even during the pandemic. They might not have a huge staff with someone at every aisle corner, but the folks who work there will never let you down. The Shaws membership app and instacart connection work perfectly as well. (I'll add photos later)
