About Mountain Wanderer (Books, Maps, Gifts and Crafts)
Mountain Wanderer Book & Maps is a wonderful independent bookstore operating for years in the White Mountains. The small store is packed with outdoors related books, guides, nonfiction, maps, instructional books, and other merchandise, making perusing its goods like a treasure hunt. The owner is charming, very knowledgeable, down to earth, and pleasant to talk with, offering great hiking suggestions. His passion for the area is infectious. It is an amazing book store where it is hard to leave without finding something special, making it a great stop for anyone into the outdoors.
The book store is in great hands with Forrest! He was more than willing to share some knowledge and wisdom in helping me plan a hike. It's a regular stop of mine when I'm in town and it's always worth the time to drop in.

Charm and practicality. A great unassuming shop full of great books, Maps etc, on hiking new England, and more. Very nice new owners. My first time in the shop but heard great things about it for years.
