This is the worse tow company I have ever dealt with. They are rude, they hang up on you, they tell you one price and then when you want your vehicle it’s another price. They force people to surrender their vehicle. They don’t work with you with anything. They take advantage of peoples despair. I have contacted the Attorney Generals office and hope they investigate. AWFUL COMPANY

They towed my car after I got in an accident. On scene they were friendly and helpful. When I went to assess the damage they helped me get the license plate off of my car. It has been stressful getting everything together after I got in this accident but none of that stress was caused by Dan's City Towing. Thanks guys!

My car was towed unlawfully from an authorized spot at my condominium. I had to call three times to get through to someone and promise over $200 just to get someone to come down and speak with me. The guy who came would not answer any of my questions and just wanted fast cash. This company is SLIMEY.

SLIMEY company. My apartment complex changed the parking regulations with no notice to their tenants resulting in my car being towed. When i called, the woman who answered the phone was very rude and vulgar and hung up. I was then told that to get the car out of the lot it would be $456 when i was originally quoted $275. At 10pm i had to drag my 3 and 6 year old out of the house for them to meet me there saying they weren’t releasing it that night. Upon pick up the next day i was told that they had to pay someone to come open the gate and the rate was now $565 to release it. The slip that they wrote said $280 after already paying them so $285 in CASH is UNACCOUNTED FOR. Glad i stuffed someone’s pocket this weekend. Watch out for these scum bags.

I arrived around 7pm with my mom to retrieve her car. She had spoken to the dispatcher and we were to wait until the person on call was back. I never spoke with the dispatcher, but my mom recounted her day as we waited and told me how it got towed, how much it costs, etc. When the driver arrived with another car in tow, we waited as to not bombard him, in case he needed to deal with that car first. He got out, walked to the closed building and stood against the wall. After seeing him waiting outside the locked door, I thought I should get out to ask if he was waiting for us. He was immediately hostile with me and frustrated that I didn’t know he was waiting for us to come to him- then aggressively told me it is their protocol to not approach a car, as I’d joked that he could’ve told/approached us. As a tow company, I can’t imagine that being protocol, but I digress. I tried to calm him down and move past, accepting his protocol, and he barked “365”- to which I didn’t know what he was referring. ‘Dollars!’ he clarified. I politely said “oh I thought it was $85”- that is what I thought I heard my mom tell me earlier; she is recently divorced and getting her finances back in order, so I wanted to double check while we were all 3 standing there. I had misunderstood her when she explained the price, and he berated me for not knowing and asking a question- that is the dispatcher’s job, not his.Never did I argue, or even try to insist it was a different price- I just said aloud that I thought it was different (to which a calm response of ‘oh no you must have misunderstood’ or ‘I really don’t know the details’ would have been fine). My mom was paying and I never intended, nor did she, to imply he was incorrect. It was just a query from me, but she confirmed that was the price she expected. He was paid the proper amount and there was never a dispute nor intent to dispute.Had I been alone, I would’ve been terrified with how upset he was over seemingly nothing; I repeatedly tried to reason with him that I was not trying to be difficult, but I didn’t understand what I had done to be treated so aggressively. He then threatened to not give the car back if I ‘say another word’. My mom trying to diffuse, telling him she talked to the dispatcher and I wasn’t trying to upset him by talking, was no use and he reiterated that she would not get the car back tonight if we ‘kept going’. What???Everything we said was trying to de-escalate him. Turning it into a threat, as if a child with a toy, was so inappropriate, especially when my mom was holding cash in her hands for him the entire time. We retrieved the car and left.We called the dispatcher to let her know the interaction was frightening and had either of us been alone, we would’ve left in tears. The dispatcher allowed very little of the interaction to be told before insisting it wasn’t believable. Then said ‘you paid, you got your car, what more do you want?’ and hung up. We didn’t want anything but to share the very unpleasant experience, thinking she not want other women to be made uneasy by a coworker. Her empathy would’ve meant the world and a simple ‘I am so sorry, that shouldn’t have happened’ would’ve solved everything. In response to ‘what do you want?’, had I been given the chance to answer, I would’ve said: just not to be made to feel worthless by 1 of the 2 employees I dealt with at your company, this evening. However, neither of you were able to do that, which is not a huge ask. After reading reviews, I understand this is an ongoing issue with little hope for a proper resolution. Insisting it wasn’t believable is comical after reading the reviews, when so many others have stood in my shoes. As a business, I understand money matters, but it would be a great service and much needed gesture to offer a lesson to employees on what’s really important in life- and what’s not.But I guess a fish rots from the head down.

PREDATORY TOWING COMPANY! I have been a resident of a condo for 3+ years and I tried calling this company to put my RENTAL VEHICLE on the DO NOT TOW list, and they said that they cannot do this, unless I call the property management. The property management phone number is nowhere to be found, and they COULD NOT PROVIDE THIS TO ME when requested. And they need a "password" from the management to complete this request. The woman from DAN's CITY TOWING hung the phone up on me! Could not help me in any way, even to avoid a tow for ONE NIGHT (I called at 10PM, and the tow guy comes whenever he thinks he can steal a car). If there is anything in my power to get their ILLEGAL BUSINESS shut down by a court of law, I will dedicate my spare time to do so. They have also towed 1 friend of mine who was parked there no more than 20 minutes. The tow guy was SITTING ON THE SIDE STREET WAITING. And they towed another friend of mine's vehicle on NEW YEAR's DAY. Very few cars were in the lot that night, so nobody was denied a parking spot - THE ONLY REASON SUCH A TOW WOULD EVER BE NECESSARY (when a resident can't find a parking spot). They are an illegal business, they ONLY TAKE CASH, they do NOT report this cash income on their taxes. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

The absolute worst! My private complex had to tow my daughter's car during snow removal because I didn't have her keys to move it. i watched them tow it and took a picture of them towing it because I wanted to know where to call to pick it up. was towed at 11am on a Tuesday, called that night at 5pm. I was told by the front desk clerk that they did not have the car. I told her I watched it being towed and took a picture with your company name on it. she told me I have no paper work on it so there was no way they have it and suggested I call the police station. called the police station they have no record of it being towed. called back on Wednesday morning and the front desk clerk still says we don't have it. I asked her to check the yard and she said I will and call you back. never did! called back Thursday with the same question and same response, we do not have your car. I said impossible I watched them tow it. again she said I will check the yard and call back and did not. call Friday same thing. they are not open on Saturday or Sunday and Monday was a holiday. My daughter called Tuesday and got a gentleman on the phone that yelled at her and said we don't have your car, stop calling it will not just appear. I call my property manager who said they definitely have it because that is the only place they contract with. I called back and spoke the same women that kept telling me they didn't have the car, who said said I will walk the yard. I called back 20 min later and what a miracle, they did have the car and it was buried in the back of the lot. she described the car to be down to the hello kitty sticker in the back and said there should be paper work but they didn't fill it out and going by me telling her they took it a week ago it would be $625. I said I am not paying that. I would have picked it up the first day but you said you did not have it. she stated well nothing we can do it is policy and it is $625. I requested to speak to the manger who she said "he's more stubborn then me and it won't change but I'll talk to him and call you back" never called back. Called the next day she said nope you need to pay the 6:25 or you can't take it. Called Manchester PD traffic control. filled them in and they called, because they didn't file paperwork with MPD i didn't have to pay anything! This place is nothing but crooks! Bet the wish they took the $250 I offered to pay in the beginning Huh!!!! Now you get nothing for being greedy and shady

Was parked for less than an hour visting my father in Manchester. This company decided to tow my car, the website says they hours and states they are closed on Sunday, yet towed my car in an empty parking lot. when asked where it would be the customer service was rude/hung up. They completely overcharge this business is terrible and would not recommend to anybody and a lot of other people have the same exact issues. They should not be falsely advertising either.

Reading all these reviews and can’t get over this company responding in super petty and immature ways. Feels like I’m back in high school ? anyways they can deny all they want but their drivers carry tasers, I’ve seen them, I’ve heard them, even police officers have witnessed them. They love to throw in a “thanks for your fabricated story” because that’s all their two fist-fighting brain cells can come up with. Business mustn’t be booming if you’ve got time to look everyone up in your files and clickety clack on your keyboard, writing petty responses back to them about their review from behind your screen ?

I’d leave no stars if I could, but unfortunately, I have to leave at least one to write this review. I’ve never had so many horrible experiences with any other place other than this company. Absolutely disgusting people. Dude that drives the truck at night is completely unreasonable, extremely aggressive, AND carries weapons. While the continuous replies to other reviews maintain a polite and somewhat respectful stance but still mention that they are “fabricated stories” I can assure you they are not. I have dealt with this company over a handful of times now and each time the lady at the front and POS that drives at night are nothing but impolite, rude, aggressive, arrogant and overall just disgusting in the way they treat “customers.” But go ahead and reply to this saying it’s a “fabricated story” since that’s all you guys know how to do.Reply:Hello “Dan’s City Towing & Recovery Owner”I’m so happy to hear back from you! Although, I regret to inform you that you should pay more attention to what you write back in your responses. Especially when there are 10+ witnesses of whom include 3 police officers that HAVE in fact seen at least ONE of YOUR drivers with a weapon. By all means if you have ample audio and video recordings why not post them in your replies to others? I highly emphasize a lack of reasonability within your driver that is unhinged at all times. Thank you for your false counter claim!Best wishes, John.

Dan’s City Towing requires a cash only payment for towing fees. I would assume that debit cards, with a pin would serve in the same manner as cash.

Worst tow company in the history of tow companies. These people don’t have a heart. I’m not one to write negative reviews but this one is warranted. They have a contact with my landlord to tow from my building’s parking lot, they tried to tow my mom’s car from the guest parking where she was completely allowed to park. Another time I had a friend park in an open spot next to my car because our two guest parking spots were full and they got my friends back tires on the truck before I had time to make it downstairs. I pleaded with them to just let us move the car now that the guest parking spots were open and available, but he wouldn’t release the car without $180. Insane. They did the same thing to my car when I was saving my money to get it repaired and it didn’t have a current inspection yet and they tried to take my car out of my spot that I pay for and charge me $180. They are ruthless people who don’t care.

Predatory towing from apartment buildings in Derry nh and elsewhere. I’m in the process of reporting their illegal and shady activities. The fact that they require cash confirms the whole illegal operation.
