The waiting line was a little long tonight, but the staff member was exceptional! She was calm and professional and the car exceeded my expectations. Thank you thrifty car rental! You've started my vacation off with a great customer experience.

Don't ever rent from the Manchester NH Thrifty location. They are liars and thieves. I refeuled a car .8 miles from the airport and they charged me for 3 gallons of gas at over $10 a gallon. And it's impossible to despute the charge without receipts and there's no guarantee they won't just lie and charge you anyway. Completely unacceptable. Will contact the BBB over their business practices. They should be embarrassed to treat customers this way. Absolutely disgusting.

Long story, I saw a listing for a "manager's special" for $255 on kayak at MHT.All the rentals out of Boston were insanely expensive - so I booked it knowing I would have to take a bus, then cab to get to MHT to grab the car. Once I got there - I learned I was being given an EV. The last time I booked a managers special (whatever's left on the lot) EVs were not in the mix so I was less than thrilled. We asked if we could pay extra to upgrade to a real car - no. They said all they had left on the lot were EVs (shocker). I have never used one - so never would have booked it but we were stuck. The girl told us finding charging stations was easy, that you could get 300 miles on a full charge and then said if all else failed we could "easily" plug it into our camp. As we started driving, the miles seemed to be counting down faster than we were actually driving. We pulled off to a location that - the car told us - was a charging station... it only charges Teslas... nothing else. We had a Kia. So, off to the next place - in the mountains. We pull in and there is only one charging station, a car is already using it and the station was technically only for guests... so 1. we weren't guests and 2. even if we were, there was no knowing if the person already charging needed to charge for 30 mins or 3 hours. So, we headed to our camp in a remote town. We plug in the car and it says - 37 hours till full charge. We spent the first 2.5 days charging the hunk of metal when we finally got them to agree to let us swap it out. We had gotten to the point were we couldnt just keep driving around looking unsuccessfully for stations - or we'd be calling roadside. When we called customer service, we were told they wouldn't charge us for the swap and wouldn't charge us for not bringing it back with a full charge - they charged us for both (even though it wasn't fully charged when we got stuck with it). When we got to the MHT location, the guy at the desk called the manager. No cars. We told them we were told one would be ready. No cars. He said one was 10 mins away - I said great, ones 20 mins away and we are staying an hour from there - so do we have to drive an hour every time to charge it? To then kill the charge driving back? He wasnt budging. We ask to speak with the manager, again explained the situation. She seemed less than thrilled to help us and I think was fighting it cause she knew we'd be upgraded. So, she has me sign the new agreement then says I'll be charged $155 for the upgrade and for not recharging the damn thing. Both of which we were told we wouldn't get charged for. I knew we wouldn't get any further with her - so we spent more time making phone calls (no one is easy to get ahold of btw) and they told us to talk to the location when we returned the car about a refund, if that didn't work call billing. Returned the car at end of trip - again no help. Bugged them on Twitter and they were quick to refund me most of it... $135. I honestly couldn't be bothered chasing the other $20. Def won't be booking with them again and sure as hell won't be renting an EV again. MHT staff is horrible.

After renting and adding protection through Expedia, Thrifty charged me an additional $323 when I picked up the car. I was told it would only be $200 and they charged an additional $123 without my knowledge. The $200 you get back for returning the car and the $123 was for insurance which I already explained I purchased through Expedia. They will not refund me the $123 and refused to call me back within their 72 hour time frame. The car also had issues with the tires and breaks.

I rented a minivan for my family to drive from Albuquerque to Farmington. On our way back to the airport, we blow a tire, and there is no spare!! Seriously?! Contacted roadside assistance, and the person barely spoke English. Zero help. By the time we got it towed and repaired, we missed our flight. Because we were part of a large group, the tickets were non-refundable. Spent over $2,300 to buy new tickets. Received an email stating that they were unable to help us because we did not call them about the situation within 24 hors, which was a total lie. Do not use this company.

Not a real company. Nobody at the counter. A sign said to get in the long line at Hertz. After a long wait there, we were told there were no cars. Now waiting a LONG time in the garage hoping someone might return a car. Many others here hoping the same.Avoid this outrage.

Got a rental in Memphis Tennessee. Prepaid gas. When I retuned the car on time there was no one there to check the car or give me a receipt. Went to the window with at least 7 people standing around waiting for cars. The Thrifty agent who was on the phone told me to leave the key in the cup holder and the agreement on the seat because they were short handed and super busy. As i was walking away, a guy I assumed worked at one of the other car rental places, in a loud voice, "get your receipt they will rip you off". I get my bill 2 days later and it's $200 more than the agreement. I call and they won't even talk to me because I don't have the agreement number. This company has become a scammer.

I had reserved a small SUV because it's February in New England. Knowing that car rentals are unreliable about giving you the kind of car you reserve, I tried repeatedly to call the Thrifty counter at Manchester airport the day before my flight to confirm. I never got through. When I arrived in Manchester they did not have a small SUV as I had reserved. They offered me a giant Jeep or a Camry that didn't even have snow tires. I wasn't comfortable driving the enormous Jeep, so I took the Camry. Over the next couple of days I had to change several activities that I had planned because there was freezing rain and the Camry couldn't handle the hills (my friend's small SUV was fine). It's inexcusable. If there's a possibility that they won't have the car you reserve, that should be stated in the contract when the reservation is made. I consider it a breach of contract.

To start with there was a 3 hour wait at the airport to get to the agent. WAY understaffed! Only Thrifty and Dollar had that problem. Absolutely awful I'm not sure anyone waiting the Dollar/Thrifty line will rent from you again. So when I finally got to the agent I gave her our Priceline reservation # she did upgrade me to a midsize SUV because we had 4 people and luggage. She told me it would be $35.00 more (she said she was doing me a favor) well it was $35.00 a day! when she was done with all the FEES it came out to $765.00 I was like WHAT??? We had a balance on Priceline of $387. We already paid $65.00 to Priceline. At that point it was over 3.5 hours I was starving and tired and with a huge line of people behind me so I just took it. My wife had already taken our 2 kids to the Hotel via Uber (another $55.00) So now we are up ($885.00). I heard you had the same problem the day before. So needless to say we wont be using Dollar/Thrifty again.

Had to drop off my rental car early because our flight got cancelled (which was fine). However, when we realized that we left some stuff in the car, including a walking cane... I called to see if they could put it aside and they said there was nothing in the vehicle. I really didn't care too much about the presents, but a walking cane. They might be the cheapest, but they are the cheapest because they are shady company and will still your s**** In addition, I understand there is a contract and might have some verbiage, but a walking cane.. come on bro

Poor customer service and vehicle upkeep. Save your money and go to a different company. All their extra, small print charges, not worth the hassle

Beware of up charges in the fine print. Unfortunate they add large services charges for things like toll roads as the rest of their service is good and they provided a great car at a low cost.
