Not somewhere I will ever stay again! The entire hotel felt dingy and run down. There is no front desk staff at the Inn and that’s only vaguely mentioned at the end of your confirmation email. It’s not stated at the front desk that check-in is at a different building so unless you ask you’ll be waiting around for nothing. Upon entering our room the first thing I noticed was a disgusting throw pillow on the bed that looked like it had never been washed. The a/c unit was dirty and when turned on irritated my husbands asthma. The entire window sill was also covered in black mold. I mentioned this to the staff after check out and I received no further correspondence.

Rooms: Absolutely filthy. Carpets were stained throughout. Bathroom had mold on the curtain rod which turned our white towels black!! The tub drain was clogged so you had to stand in dirty water while you showered!!
Safety: The Hotel doors that lead outside we're propped open all day and night. There were no employees present day or night.
We did not feel safe knowing this.
Food and drinks: After we checked in early, we decided to get lunch at the Lake House inside Church Landing, only to find it closed for employee appreciation day. So we checked the other Mills Falls hotels dining rooms and saw the same sign posted. Not very convenient for paying customers.

Horrible rooms from the 1950s! Carpet was never changed. Pictures on the website were from back in the 50s as well, when they first built it. It’s like I’m sleeping in an antique store… all original! And super expensive! Such a waste of money!

We previously stayed at Church Landing and wrongfully assumed the other buildings would be of the same quality. If you value cleanliness, convenience and safety do NOT stay here. It smelled moldy, the carpet was dirty, there is no staff on site and one of the exterior doors remains open 24/7 as it has previously been broken into and no longer locks.
We did not feel comfortable staying there and went to the main desk at Church Landing to ask what could be done. We were told they are severely understaffed and to come back the next day.
Fortunately on day 2 the staff at Church Landing was able to get us a room in the main building, and the rest of our stay was excellent.

Nice view for sure. The check in process is a little cumbersome heading to the other location. The traffic is thick right near Inn location but folks are friendly there and polite drivers. The inn should maybe consider more front desk staff to ensure customers can ask questions and expedite the check in process. The room view was awesome. The inn is older but quiet. I would say the Inn by lake needs some hvac filtration to help keep the room dryer and moisture free. For the price I would expect fresh towels and beds made daily. That did not happen. You have to ask for it by calling as there are no staff posted at the lake place. All in all very nice, pleasant place to visit. Would go again.
Nearby activities: boating on the lake!
Safety: felt safe - no issues

I stayed here for a few days in the beginning of July. I would advise against staying here. 850$ and by far not worth it. The location is great however, it’s not on the lake it’s across the street. When I first entered my room that should have been clean from smoke, it smelt of smoke and cologne. My asthma acted up and I had to use my inhaler. The stairwell was littered with trash since the first day all the way up to my last day. It smelt like something was rotting. The second day there was broken glass in the stairwell that I accidentally stepped on, luckily I wasn’t cut and my shoes protected me. By the third day my mom and I were locked out of our room and there was no one at the front desk, had to call and wait at my door for 30-45min.

Rating this hotel a 2/5 purely because of the great location it’s in, lots of cute shops & restaurants around. The Cascade spa across the street was also lovely. However, we booked this hotel because we were seeing a show at the Bank of NH Pavilion last night. Check-in is listed on the website and my confirmation email as 4pm, which is late compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, but still a manageable time because we weren’t in a rush to watch the openers at the concert. The problems started when there were 20+ guests waiting in the lobby at 4pm for rooms that were not cleaned yet. The woman at the desk said they had over 100 parties checking in that particular day, which I can totally understand is difficult to manage, but as an organization— do not accept over 100 hotel reservations if you can not accommodate everyone. There were people there who had paid for early check in at 2pm, who were still waiting for their room to be cleaned at 4:30pm. The other issue was with our room itself. There was mold on the inside of the air conditioner, on the inside of the lamps of the room, and in between the shower curtains. I would recommend finding different accommodations if staying in the area, as the location itself is lovely but the management and cleanliness of this place is below average.

tl;dr: stay at Chase House, not the Inn.
Rooms: Cramped, dated, and looking out over a carpark. Unmistakable stale tobacco odours throughout the room and hallway. The window frame was crumbling and hanging off! The door to the carpark was unlocked 24h a day. Litter was left uncleared in the hot stairwell for 36h. The Aircon rumbled louder than a truck engine. Seriously, imagine an ageing 2 star motel and that's exactly what you'll get.
Service: Non-existant. There was one lady at the reception desk for a short period each afternoon. Nobody morning or evening. And nobody EVER answered the phone in less than 3 minutes, though often no answer at all. When we went to the "central check-in" half a mile away, they didn't have keys for the Inn, weren't knowledgeable about their own hotels facilities and were generally just not that warm and welcoming. We asked where we could access the lake beach which is advertised on the website: the staff seemed confused and were unable to explain exactly where it was. We ended up just looking around for ourselves.
Location: Meredith is a wonderful little town and we will definitely return. The Inn is actually located in a convenient central location, but we couldn't possibly recommend the In. For the reasons above.
Final thoughts: One day, the Inn will either be terrific or closed. That depends on when the owners decide to carry out the full refurbishment it so desperately needs. They need to close the place for a year, strip it back and remodel it completely from the ground up. If they don't, I can't see how anyone would willingly stay there for the prices they charge.

Make sure if you are booking here that you know what building your staying in. If your at the main building right on the lake, fine, but you'll pay out the nose! If they're try to put you in the Chase House or even Mill Falls it is old, outdated, smelly, loud and not worth the money. You'll have some lake view but the main highway is right in front of you with big trucks, hot rods, etc...
Go down to Weir Beach and rent the Lakeview Inn and cottages. Get a cottage for the same price and the owner will spoil you! Great views and quiet and homey. We underestimated it and booked because we couldn't find anything else reasonable and turned out to be a highlight of our two week honeymoon trip. Also, take the Mt Washington boat, two hour boat ride on a refurbished steamer. On a nice day, amazing! $46.00 per Adult and well worth it.

Service at this place is awful. There is a car in their parking lot outside our window that the alarm keeps going off. Every hour or so for about a half hour and then stops. I have video and pictures. They say they can't do anything about it. I said call the owner and the desk person says they don't know who owns. But when we check in they take our name make, model and plate number.

The absolute worst. Do not stay here. Rooms are run down. Management is the absolute worst. Restaurant was a joke - service was abysmal. One of the worst hotel experiences.

Our room was beautiful, think of Bridgeton, very much like that classy! Elegant but not over the top where you would feel nervous to touch anything. The market place is attached. Plus a restaurant. We went on off season. We will do it again. We loved the fact we was basically the only ones in the pool an hot tub. The snacks could use a lil more of a variety but the coffee is great. The hair an body products are amazing. The beds are very high an comfortable. Absolutely felt like royalty.
We did not have service interaction at this building due to it being off season

I’ve been staying at Mills Falls for several years during bike week in June as well as other random times during the year. I have to say since the new owners took over a few years ago everything has gone downhill. We went into the falls cafe, only two other tables had people, almost all the empty tables had dishes on them. We waited over 30 minutes to get our breakfast, and it was horrible. The window in our room didn’t fit the casing and had a 1/2 inch gap. Paint peeling on the outside, uneven walkways. The place needs a good overhaul. As far as the rates, they go up every year, substantially. I paid $1000 for four nights, next year its $2400 for the same.
I have no problem paying for a nice place, but this place is going downhill fast. Only thing I can say positive about it is the location and the staff was great.

Beautiful location in Meredith...close walk to the lake and shops. However, when we booked, we thought we were in the main building...because that's what the booking said. We did not know that the resort has multiple properties across downtown... They put us in the Mill ... Which was last renovated in 1986. Very nice and clean...we asked for a lake view, the only window was an inside window inside the enclosed front porch. Everything was very clean ...
Walkability: Great access to quaint Meredith

Beautiful old, but well maintained and updated building. Great access to the marketplace. Kind staff.
Nearby activities: Plenty around, even off-season.
Walkability: Easy access to all Mills Falls locations.
Food and drinks: Several common man restaurants nearby and some small local restaurants.
