“The coolant lines on my truck transmission developed a massive leak and ran the transmission dry. Of course, this was on a Sunday morning, so I got AAA to haul the truck home. I didn't trust the local dealer of my truck's brand to repair it at a reasonable cost. I looked for local transmission repair shops, PDM came up, reviews were good, so off we went.
Paul gave me a rundown of all the things that could be broken and the likely costs. I turned him loose with no limits on time, requesting only that he let me know what repairs were necessary and the cost. It turned out that the only visible damage was the coolant lines. He replaced them, filled the transmission, road tested the truck, and off we drove.
It turned out that there was another problem. The torque converter was not working correctly, and while the truck was apparently running correctly, fuel mileage and emissions were affected. Back we go to PDM.
Paul was able to remove the torque converter and determine what the problem was. Not only did he fix it, he also did some preventive maintenance by replacing some other parts associated with it. Overall he was meticulous, his work was of top quality, and his prices were well within the normal range for such work.
