I don’t think there had been updates since the inn Was built in 1790, no elevator?we were on the 3rd floor), the sink in the bathroom has a cracked bowl, there were no safety rails in the tub/ shower, there was no clock in the room. There was just one trash can.our bill for two nights was $692.00.
We had been looking forward to staying at a charming historic property, but this property needs some updating. The furniture in the room was grim except for the beds which were fine.

Very convenient location, right in the middle of town, close to the lake. Beds were very comfortable, room was spacious and the people manning the front desk were very kind and helpful.
Highly recommend.

Delightful Stay at the New London Inn!
My sister and I had a fantastic two night stay at the New London Inn. The front desk and reservation specialist were very patient, helpful, kind, professional, & friendly. Our room was lovely. We ate at the restaurant for dinner each night. The wait staff was wonderful & the food was delicious. We can’t wait to go back in July! Thank you all so much!

Comfortable historic inn housing an amazing, deservedly lauded restaurant. Many parts of the inn still contain original structures, which was first established in 1792. Rooms are well appointed with soft, comfortable beds and linens. Ample quaint porch spaces available to enjoy summer weather. Plenty of refreshments and light snacks available for free for all guests. Very sweet and accommodating staff.

I was in town for a memorial service for an old friend. The Inn was a wonderful place to stay. It is extremely old but well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If I am back in this area again I will definitely stay here.

stayed here 2 nights for business, i actually had to change my reservation by a couple weeks and even booked through 3rd party and they were very gracious to help me out. very cool old building, feels like stepping back in time a bit, yet very quaint and clean. i have stayed in new chain hotels that were not this clean. keep in mind it's old school, no fridge, no microwave. the restaurant attached, the elms, is worth the trip in itself! very creative menu without being strange. you can tell the chef and wait staff really care about the food and their guests. not sure if i will need the hotel again, but wouldn't hesitate, but would make the trip for the elms. it's a little off the beaten path but well worth the visit.

In a world of commercialism and chain hotels, the New London Inn is a sanctuary of authenticity and individuality. The front desk lady was unbelievably kind and helpful. Had to stop off the highway abruptly during a drive to Vermont due to a severe snowstorm, I found this place to be welcoming and in all ways helpful. Also the pillows were unbelievably comfortable
I do wish the bar was open later than 10 on a Friday though… 👀

Horrendous dinner service. 3 hours until we had to tell them to pack up our appetizers, entrees and desserts. They packed up our food no check. Awful service. Would never come back.

We finished our Fall New England road trip at the New London Inn, and it was the perfect way to cap the trip. We loved the historic feels and modern convenience. The sitting area with the fire rolling was fantastic. Our room was spotless and spacious, along with a very comfortable bed. If we ever make it back to New England, we will be repeat customers. Miss Erica was extremely helpful and added to the overall experience.

Cancellation issues
September 2024
I have stayed at the location many time in the pass and what happy overall. But on this trip which was a business trip I booked a room for 2 nights 4 days before my arrival date
Because of circonstances out of my control made i had to cancel my stay for the first night
I called to explain I could not make it and had to leave a message because nobody answers the phone at the front desk 2 days before my arrival.
At check-in i brought the cancellation I had done and I was told they got my message and has to wait for a manager to decide.
3 days after my last night at the hotel i got an email saying i could not get a refund for my first night but offered a voucher for future stay without showing how much it would be.
I travel a lot for business and i highly don't recommend this establishment of you think your schedule might change because you will be out of any refund unless you cancel 14 days in advance

The menu was absolutely immaculate. I could not be more impressed with the quality of both the service and the delivery of impressive food. Coming from a culinary background, I am told the chef appreciates the nuance and finesse of a well curated hot dog, and that is the only modification I would be interested to experience. All in all, 10 out of 10 experience and will offer favors to the chef for recipes

I live near New London, and often go to dinner or lunch there. I am very happy with all of the restaurants in NL,but do not stay at the Inns.
Food & drinks: I live nearby, and I am always satisfied with the restaurant choices in New London
