“First, the service was amazing. The afternoon/evening front desk gentlemen was extremely kind and helpful as we navigated an issue with the room we were originally given. The in room ac was broken and we were worried the temporary ac they had wouldn’t be cool enough. Long story short another room was offered but we ended up keeping the original and the ac wasn’t an issue.
The rooms were slightly dated but clean and well maintained. The only downside of the room was the carpet - it wasn’t awful but was old and a bit musty. We are very sensitive to smells and allergens so others may not notice. That said it didn’t affect our allergies too much so it wasn’t that bad.
Room comes with basic cooking equipment, plates and silverware.
The room we got was a two bedroom but the queen bedroom doesn’t have a door that closes - it’s a separate room but is open to the living room/kitchen. This wasn’t an issue for us but worth noting for others.
Beds were clean and looked new but weren’t the nicest mattresses. Same with the pillows.
We did go to the indoor pools - it was pretty well maintained. They had locker rooms and a dry sauna but we didn’t use either.
Continental breakfast was as you’d expect. Nothing hot was served but lots of options - including a whole gluten free section which you NEVER see at hotels and I great appreciated.
The hotel was nice and the staff great but it definitely had “we were a reeeallly nice hotel before the pandemic and then we lost a lot of our extras” vibes. They used to have a spa, a bar, an outdoor pool and a restaurant but those are all gone. It was fine as is but others may be confused from some older photos since those services are gone.
Location for us was amazing. We wanted to be near the state park beach for swimming and it’s a 3 minute drive away.”

I had a fantastic stay at the Rosewood Country Inn. The inn is beautiful, super clean, and incredibly well maintained, and each room has its own fun, creative personality. I stayed in the MoonDancer (Harry Potter-themed) room and absolutely loved it—so many clever details and artifacts. I found myself taking pictures of everything. Kids would go crazy for it, but honestly, so did I.

The history of the inn—with guests like Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks—just adds to the experience. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, and sitting outside listening to the birds and frogs was one of those simple moments you don’t want to rush.

There’s also a great mix of charm and modern updates (EV charging, solar, TVs), so it feels comfortable without losing its character.

Now let me talk about breakfast. I have a system: I take one of everything on the first plate so I can go back and load up on my favorites. At the Sunday buffet…that plan completely backfired, because everything was a favorite. Strawberry muffins, lemon ricotta pancakes, frittata, breakfast tortilla—every single thing was outstanding. Even the coffee and juice were top-notch.

Stan and Odo were incredibly welcoming and made the stay feel personal. They took time to talk with us, gave great recommendations, and really made the experience special. Emily at Sunday brunch was also fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always checking in.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, unique New Hampshire getaway, this place is a no-brainer.”

“Our room was lovely and clean with a picturesque view. We were traveling with a baby and Jessica went out of her way to accommodate us by providing us with early check-in. She even texted me instead of calling so as not to wake the baby! I was so impressed by her thoughtfulness. I would highly recommend this motel.”
