“30 years later and we are buying our second wood stove from Ed. We didn’t even contemplate going to another store!!!! In 1994 Ed sold us a Vermont Castings and when we decided to look at the new stoves this season there was no doubt where we were headed!!! “Exceptionally great service is the only way to describe our recent interaction with the folks at Strafford Appliance. Nearly a year ago we purchased a portable a/c unit. When we went to put it into use several weeks ago, the unit malfunctioned. Folks at Strafford Appliance had us bring the unit back to see if they could get it operational. When that repair attempt was unsuccessful, I had a new replacement unit in my car and was on my way home within minutes. Thanks for the great service!”
“I stopped by this store yesterday. The staff is great! I had 2 different sales associates offer to help me find what I was looking for, and another associate noticed I had my arms full of merchandise and came back with a shopping cart for me. Usually, at this type of store, I'm walking up & down the aisles looking for someone to help me. Has customer service returned?? Kudos!!”
“Yesterday, June 17, 2025, my husband and I placed an order for a bulkhead door. First, Dan from the kitchen design department helped us locate a mixer, a bathtub fixture, that would match and replace what we have. We never would have found it without him. Then it was on to ordering the bulkhead door. Dan and Renee, also from the kitchen design department, helped us through the process. It was quite tricky, as we wanted to use our veteran’s discount. There were multiple steps, but the two of them would not quit trying to get the best price for us.
It is great to know that there are people who care enough about customers to go the extra mile.
Kudos to both Dan and Renee! They are valuable assets to the Home Depot.”
“Had an issue with pellet delivery. Delivery driver had a full truck load of pellets and takes the one pallet that’s damaged and dumping out pellets. You can see on my cameras it waterfalling out all over truck, twenty foot radius in my driveway, and then when he sets it down by my garage doors. What a mess to come home too! 1-800 Customer service is a joke says from the picture driver took it doesn’t look damaged and I’m like well at least he was smart there and took the picture from the front view not showing damage. Somersworth HD was AMAZING both Connor and Shawna 100% was about the customer and made things right. In the end it all works out but all could’ve been avoided if he left the damaged pallet of pellets on truck to bring back to the store instead of delivering it to myself or anyone else. I’ll definitely shop at Somersworth HD again and again. A+”

“I never write reviews but I couldn’t leave without someone knowing how amazing Conor was to my family and I. Seems so silly but we came in late Friday night looking for a grill and weren’t sure about delivery versus trying to fit it into our car. Conor advised us the whole way through and then when we thought we could fit it in the car he helped us. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit but he did nothing but smile and offer to get it delivered instead. I felt awful cause I know how rough doing all that is at the end of the day probably was but he was so kind to all of us, got us a delivery for the grill and just was overall very kind about the whole situation. Conor went out of his way to make sure we got what we needed and never made us feel like a burden. Left feeling very happy about our experience!”
“What I thought would be a quick shopping trip to the Portsmouth location this evening, turned into one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences I’ve had in a long time. While at the self-checkout, I ran into one of Home Depot’s finest, Gail. She assisted my girlfriend and I with our checkout process which led to a great conversation between the three of us. She even pulled my leg a couple of times so hard that it hurt. Gail’s knowledge of the products sold in store combined with her advanced sense of humor made for a great end to our trip to Home Depot. “For some reason I keep going back to State Street Discount. Oh wait I know why. The customer service is over the top. The sales people are true professionals. Last item I bought was much, much cheaper than Amazon. I was able to complete another purchase over the phone while I was driving that included delivery, installation and take the replaced item away.”
“Yesterday an amazing thing happened to me at the Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery. We had purchased a pendant lamp for our kitchen through the Gallery but, when I installed it, I realized the lighting portion of the lamp was off-center, such that the lamp did not hang straight. It was clearly defective. With the electricity turned off and no light in the kitchen, I went to the Gallery in a panic. They, of course, offered to replace the lamp but it would take a few days to get delivered. I had discarded the prior fixture and had guests coming the following week, so the delay was troublesome, to say the least. When I explained my predicament to Angela, one of the associates of the Gallery, she fetched a ladder from the back room and took down the sample of the same light I had ordered that was hanging in the showroom, disassembled it and gave me the part that was defective from the lamp I had received.”
“Had a strange experience buying open box online, visited my local Best Buy, and they resolved it quickly - next time, I will just go to the store to begin with! The best buy associate who helped me was friendly and super helpful - he had a lot of good energy. That level of enthusiasm makes me want to return.”
