Worse bank we have ever dealt with. They screwed up so many times that we moved all accounts except one MM account. We had been with the bank Bar Harbor took over (Lake Sunapee) for at least 40 years but we have moved three big accounts to Sugar River where we have also have accounts. They have always treated us professionally and courteously and when you call you get someone in the Newport branch and you do not have to press buttons and then end up with some customer service in God only knows where. DO NO and I repeat, do not bank with them. They are horrible and your money is not safe in their hands.

Wish I could do half a star the time on the door says 5pm close I get out at 4:30 and can’t get my check till I am out and everytime I get here at 4:50 to 4:55 you guys are locking or already locked the doors. If this is the case then you need to put 4:50 pm for the close time because this is not professional. I cant even cash my check because of this. I will be sure to have my 3k followers on social media come to give some reviews and switch banks.

Bar Harbor Bank is a regional bank with many locations across New England but it is my local bank. I've done business with them for over 20 years, starting with Lake Sunapee Bank, and continuing with Bar Harbor after they purchased LSB, keeping many of the same positive banking policies and same faces in customer service and other postions. I can rely on them to be there when I need them and to solve any issues that arise with my accounts. I've never had a problem with overdraft fees, as Bar Harbor Bank is always willing to work with me. In the past, with banks like Bank of America, they seem to operate on some kind of algorithm designed to milk you for as many fees as possible; not Bar Harbor Bank. I have confidence and peace of mind banking with them. I recommend this bank.

Decent bank, would give more stars if they had more convenient drive up locations... the main branch in Newport does not have one, so its Sunapee or Claremont. You could choose a bank that is literally next door to them and they have 4 lanes of drive up.

I have been banking with Lake Sunapee since I got out of college in 2009 and have loved it. Their mobile deposits had been convenient and were available at three times during the day, depending on when you deposited it. They did not give a hard time about overdraft fees if you got the money in quickly, and their communication has been excellent. However, they recently merged with Bar Harbor Bank and Trust and all of that is home. I deposited a check on Friday afternoon, where before I would have had it available 45 minutes later, it is now Tuesday night at 7:45 and it still isn't there, despite assurances that it would be at 5. Their fees have gone up 2 dollars, with no warning, and last weekend, they did an upgrade to their entire system, shutting the bank down for 3 days and all they did was send out a letter to account holders, which I never received. I would recommend you take your money elsewhere, if you want to use it.
