Hours: The Beach Camping Area is a beautiful, clean, affordable, and family-friendly campground located on the Saco River. It offers a large sandy beach perfect for swimming, along with tent camping, cabin rentals, and full hook-up RV sites, including a cute retro RV option. The staff is amazing, friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable, providing great help with setup and scheduling. Exciting daily activities on the river include tubing, canoeing, and kayaking adventures, with a shuttle to upriver launch points ending at the campground's beautiful beach. Amenities include kayak rental, firewood, ice, laundry, immaculate showers and bathrooms, a small store, strong WiFi, and games like cornhole. A food truck on the beach serves excellent pancakes and tacos. The campground is centrally located near many state parks and cold river swimming spots. Some guests note a wish for more trees and shrubbery between sites for added privacy and mention it can be prohibitively buggy in early June. However, the overall experience is highly recommended, with many friendly people and a quiet, memorable atmosphere that lives up to the hype, ensuring guests plan to return for years.
