Great place for a hike. The Cardigan \\u0026 Firescrew loop was a fun, moderate hike. If leaving from the AMC Lodge, I definitely recommend doing the loop counterclockwise. The views on the ledges and from the top are lovely, especially since the climb isn't that long. Nice view of Newfound Lake. Bring bug spray.

Steep, microspikes helped with packed snow. So much ice at the tower, so I had to stop not worth the risk with a dog, but still was able to see the beautiful views. Road to the hike is closed and parking in minimal so be aware.

Nice walking trails rewarded by a great view at the top. Parking is confusing and not well maintained

It is a great hiking trail, took some time drove to to the hidden parking lot. You would not find it without google map. It took little more than an hour hiking up, mostly up hill hiking with steps out of logs or boulders. Yes some of you ask "are we there yet", but it is a great workout. At the end with a spectacular view at the peak and that will take away all those pain during hiking up. I'll be back next fall again for sure.

An out of the way park. Hiked to the summit on the West Ridge Trail. Great views all around with the start of foliage season. Took the South Ridge Trail down. Both trails were great with fabulous views.Restrooms: Well maintained pit toilets and porta potties.Dog-friendliness: Dog are welcome, must be on a leash.Picnic area: Picnic tables are available with a small pavilion.

what a thrill getting caught in the rain at the top after weathering the wind to make coffee. Incredible, diverse trails. Moss Haven. Thank you, thank you thank you.

Small state park with well marked, well travelled trails up Mt Cardigan. Mt Cardigan is about a 2.5 hour hike round trip with stops and a nice moderate hike. Note the road is a little rough to get here and not for low clearance vehicles; in winter I'm sure it's 4wd only. On weekends the small parking lot fills up quickly.

People parked everywhere. Leaving food around and some dogs were off leash...courtesy should be taken on a hike. I brought my dog and he loves off leash...but I respect public/state regulations to leash and police (**** patrol) my dog. Please be mindful of others.

Cardigan State Park, Orange, New Hampshire. The West Ridge Trail is a gorgeous leg and lung burner. Water and mud in Spring made it more challenging (wear boots or you’ll ruin your sneakers like I did). The trail can seem to fade or split at times but just when you begin to worry there’s an orange dab of paint on the tree ahead showing you where to go. You’ll be very proud of yourself when you reach the top and the views are breathtaking. Trail is officially 1.5 miles one way but offseason they close the upper road so add on another .7 miles x 2.
