“Overall, I really like this place. It definitely has a vibe and they stay 'on-brand' throughout the entire property, down to the signs for directions made out of faux twigs. It has a semi cartoony feel of a rustic inn and had loads of details (including an adorable cat who lives in the lobby!) that I found really charming. The room I booked was comfortable and had that cozy cottage vibe, but the functionality of the room was a little lacking. Firstly, I couldn't get my shower to change to faucet/bath mode. I tried pulling it, I tried pushing it. No dice. So, I was resigned to filling up the tub with the shower which cooled the water off so I was left with a tepid bath. Meh. Plus, when I laid down in the tub I noticed the wallpaper was peeling behind the toilet. That's a little too rustic for me. lol Add in a TV that was finicky about connecting to the cable and a teensy mini fridge (one of those small square deals) without a microwave in the room and I was left sort of underwhelmed. The amenities in the spa were pleasant with a few things to note: --The pool is somewhat small and didn't feel heated. When I arrived, two older women were swimming laps and in doing so, overtook the entire area. For a hotel of this size, it's rather undersized. It's also cool (not cold but not heated, which I actually prefer but it was advertised as heated) and needed to be cleaned better, as there were strands of hair floating about. --The hot tub looks impressive in photos but in actual usage is not really user-friendly. Firstly, the waterfalls create a kind of foam that makes the bottom impossible to see which, in turn, makes getting in very tricky. I couldn't see the first nor 2nd step in and to add insult to injury, their handrail was loose and jerked sideways when I leaned on it. Please be very careful getting in! My boyfriend wasn't so lucky and scraped his arm. Secondly, the loudness of the water feature and the spray it creates were more lightly irritating than relaxing. At the end of the day it's still an adequate hot tub, just not the best one I've been in. --The sauna was terrific! Got nice and hot. Since it's not readily apparent, push the middle button on the panel to the right of the door on the outside to turn it on. Ultimately you're paying for that home-y Cracker Barrel vibe but the actual bones of hotel need some work. They kind of hide these shortcomings with charm. I will likely stay here again but honestly, if you're looking for better quality/more amenities you can definitely find a hotel at a comparable price. But go here at least once for the ambiance.”

“Recently, my wife and I traveled to NH to attend a Celebration of Life for a dear friend who had passed. We live in FL, so I went online to check for nearby lodging. Came across The Yankee Trail Motel and after reading the reviews decided that we would give it a try. Well, I am 72 years old and will say that Charlene and Kevin provided the best lodging experience of my life. Our room was spotless, our homemade breakfast was excellent and the hospitality provided by Charlene and Kevin was over the top. Please don't let the word "Motel" scare you away. The Yankee Trail will not disappoint! Thank you Charlene and Kevin. You made us feel like Family!Buddy and Judi Brown”

“Entire bridal party stayed at Boulder Suites to celebrate the bride and groom. Service was amazing and it was great to have everyone in the same area. Best views waking up lakeside. Perfectly weekend getaway. Also reccomend the ice cream shop that is super close by.”

“A lovely manor house set on a hill in landscaped grounds. The bed was super comfortable and the room was charming but there were maintenance issues with the antique furniture making it a quirky experience. The menu looked good and I think the chef is good at cooking meals but should maybe focus on those and buy in the bread and croissants rather than trying to house-make everything. The staff were super - very friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here.”

“This was a great location for a visit to the Ice Castles in Woodstock, NH. The staff are very friendly and welcoming (David checked us in and was patient with my many questions). The rooms are clean with heating and cooling available, very comfy beds and pillows. The complimentary breakfast included options like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, a pancake maker, bagels, toast, yogurt, orange juice, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. The gentleman manning the breakfast area was so quick to make sure everything was stocked and was very nice. The pool is kept at 80 degrees and there is a sauna too. We had a delicious lunch at the Covered Bridge Farm Table restaurant which is a short walk across the street before driving up to the ice castles (about 20 minutes away). There's a fun arcade in the lobby, too!We went during February winter break week and so the hotel was packed with families that had little kids. There was some screaming and loud laughter (actually by a woman, not a kid) somewhere near our room late at night, but that's not the hotel's issue. Overall this was a more affordable and great alternative to a place in Woodstock closer to the ski resorts.Rooms: Clean, air conditioning, heater, microwave, comfy bedsNearby activities: 20 minute drive from the Ice Castles and Loon Mountain ski resortWalkability: Great restaurant across the street for delicious food (Covered Bridge Farm Table)”

“Super accommodating establishment. Needed last-minute reservation, and I'm so glad they made it happen for us. The buildout is top shelf, and the views of the lake are amazing. Michele , the events manager, was nothing but the best, from booking our reservation to checking on us frequently throughout our time there. We will definitely be making this our new spot. And for all you prime rib eaters, you will be super pleased!!!”
