This is not for the store, but for the tire center. And it's not even for the tire center, it's for the rude manager who works there. No concept of customer service. He should absolutely not be customer-facing.

I just joined today. They had 1 person at the member services register and a line 6 customers deep. I waited patiently since I’d driven 25 minutes to get here I didn’t want to give up without a good try. I finally got to join the club and went shopping. The health and beauty aids area was ok, frozen too. But the fresh veggies and fruits were terrible. Apples were mushy, pears looked like they’d been beaten. All I could get were some bananas. Next I went through their clothing section. Piles were jumbled, the selection was small and the quality was poor. Looked like clothes from the bargain area at the old Ames or Zayers stores. I managed to select some juice and cheese. I headed for check out. They only had one - 1 - register open. After waiting 3 deep to check out for quite a while I decided to write this review. As you can see I’ve had plenty of time to express my displeasure. Turns out the reason there’s only 1 - one - register open is because the gentleman ringing at the other one went on break. No one came to cover his register even though there was a line. He’s finally come back so I’m sure I’ve been waiting to checkout 15-30 minutes. Seems like forever. … We’ll I finally managed to check out. The gentleman cashier rang up the jumbled items without taking them out of my cart - rearranging as he went. Yes - you guessed it, I was double charged for some of my items and had to go back into the store and brave the member services line gain. Truly this was not a good experience and I probably will drive the extra 20 minutes to Costco in MA.

I've been a BJ's member for many years and even bought my tires there. I unfortunately blew a tire nearby on I-95 and thankfully found and limped into this BJ's 2+ hours before they were closing. There was not a single car in the 4 bays yet the guy at the counter was not interested in helping me at all that night so I went across the street to Pep Boys who gladly helped me and had me back on the road in about one hour! It's not worth saving a few dollars on the initial cost of the new tires... I recommend you go elsewhere in case you need real service.

We shop at BJ's alot, and all of the employees there are really friendly. I want to give a special shoutout to one very special employee who went above and beyond when I was getting a new pair of glasses in the eyewear department, Mike D! Mike was extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and funny the whole time! He really made my experience so worthwhile! I hope he gets a raise and hope I get the chance to see him again!

Whoever was the frontend leader/ manager (whatever she was ) today has a DISGUSTING attitude toward her employees. She needs to go! She screamed at a cashier as I was checking out with her for no good reason. DISGUSTING. Im hesitant to return because of this. Treat your employees with respect! Gross.

I just left the Portsmouth store and when I got home, realized that I had bought the wrong coffee. I called the store to make sure that they would take it back and was told no. So that leaves me out $40. Thanks for nothing BJ’s.....

A huge shout out to Rich in the Tire Department. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and ordered our tires on line, as was required. Today we had them installed, he was so informative and knowledgeable about our purchase. The installation took less time than originally stated, he called us to let us know. I'm very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of Rich. We will definitely get our tires here in the future. Highly recommend!

BJ's is certainly not Sam's. More expensive, in order to deals have to have coupon if you have with you. BJ's Paper products not as good.

Rude, unprofessional, and ridiculous policy. As I was leaving, after spending over $400 on tires, I had wondered if I would've simply been better driving up to Costco in Nashua. I asked what was covered, and the service tech was extremely rude, and snappy, for no reason, and said that, "things were only covered if I have the original receipt!" I asked, "don't you keep a file, or something on the computer?" The response was, "Nope! You better keep your original receipt or nothing will be covered!" Needless to say, I regretted spending so much money on tires there. I have only been back once, for a tire rotation, and I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come to the register, I think the guy was out in the back smoking, when he finally came to help me, with no one else there, he was more concerned with seeing my original receipt before he would do the service, and was not friendly at all. Either management must be really bad there, or the employees are just in the wrong field.
