Lack of knowledge at the branch with how the online accounts work. Was told there was a solution over the phone to ACH transfers that I was missing. Showed up to the branch and he was scratching his head.

I can't blame the branch, but I can't recommend Citizens in general. It took 5 trips to the branch and numerous telephone calls with the tech department, which is outsourced to a foreign country, to accomplish what should have happened at the first appointment in about 10 minutes. Very simple online banking issue. The other issue I have is that no one ever answers the phone at the Pleasant St branch, and there is no answering machine to leave a message. So no way to get ahold of anyone at the branch without making a special trip in person.

I came to this location to set up a new bank account and I had the pleasure of working with Heather. She was extremely patient and helpful and made sure that everything was figured out before I left the building. Would highly recommend this location and Heather!

Awful bank. Anne is lazy and rude. If you have any problem they recommend calling the 800 number. I wouldn’t recommend this bank to anyone.

My wife and I went through the mortgage process with citizens bank. The level of incompetence in their mortgage division is unheard of. They constantly asked for paperwork they already had. They use a secured porthole system to upload documents. The underwriters and our mortgage consultant could not navigate. We needed to direct them through the process of finding the paperwork on their own system. Which by the way is not compatible with any apple products. Mac, I pads, I phones have been around for quite some time. I'm pretty sure it's not just a passing fad. They might want to upgrade their software for this It took us well over a month to get a clear to close. It was in underwriting until 15 hours before our closing deadline and we did not get the clear to close until 11 hours before our closing. They could not even provide us with the amount needed for closing cost. We had to escalate it to their acting supervisor. It has been a nightmare experience. They are extremely unprofessional disorganized and they blame it on the housing market instead of taking responsibility for their own incompetence. Do not take out a loan with Citizens Bank.

this location blows. they close at four during the week days which sucks for people who have 9-5 and their atm is locked till they open at 9 on saturday's which blows if you wanna get some quick cash early in the morning, you guys could easily unlock the atm but keep that inside door locked so people can't come in before you open just saying. mostly their hours just suck and since the other location in portsmouth at shaw's closed cuz shaw's itself closed its d*** they have such restrictive hours. meanwhile bank of america down the street way more accommodating

Usually the employees at this location are always very professional and kind. But today there was a new female employee (Teller Number D110256) who was extremely rude. I passed her two payroll checks to be cashed and forgot that my account balance at the moment couldn’t cover them. She proceeds to BLAB my account balance out loud in front of all employees and my passenger instead of politely asking if I’d like to deposit the checks instead because my balance couldn’t cover it or at least have my balance printed on a slip. Last I checked that was PRIVATE INFORMATION!! The lack of common sense with some people amazes me. I’ll be switching banks soon because it’s infuriating to have a teller treat you as if you are less than them. Not happy.

I assume it’s related to Covid, but place was shutdown and dark at 3:45 pm on a normal weekday. The drive thru was even blocked with cones. Is this place permanently closed? Other businesses are returning to normal. At least have some kind of signage what in the world your hours are, or if your closed permanently. It’s not rocket science.

I walked into Citizens bank on Pleasant St. in Portsmouth, Nh this passed November as a Client that had an account for over 20 years and a credit card holder for over 6 years. Up until then I had no problems or concerns with my account. Unfortunately, I accidentally made a payment on my credit card for under the minimum payment by $33. I was unaware of the situation until after 30 days. It then hit my credit and knocked my credit down 137 points. Thank God for Credit Karma! As soon as I realized what happened I called the branch and spoke with Paula who assured me she could help me and to come to the branch so we can fix my situation. Once I arrived at the branch Paula was busy helping another client, so the teller suggested I speak with someone else that could help me, Grant.

This is THE WORST BANK EVER. Been banking business and personal for over 15 years, and they have just held a substantial amount of business money deposits from me WITHOUT any explanation (12 days) after they said it was available 7 days ago. BEWARE of this bank. They have gone corporate and could care less about you.
