I used to love coming here because it is local and nifty. But today I unfortunately had the woRST experience at this CVS. The entire time I was shopping, one of the workers (older white male) was hovering, watching, following me from a distance (as a young woman, that behavior comes off creepy and made me extremely uncomfy) once I was finished up I was heading to self checkout when the same male worker immediately approaches me (he was inside my bubble too.. very close) trying to take my bag with my goodies in it to “help” me. I did not ask for help, nor did I need it at that time. I felt ambushed and I certainly didn’t like being touched by him either. He forced himself in front of me and it turned out it was because they have some new scale sensor system which it was nice for him to show me how it worked, but after I figured it out, he continued to aggressively hover over me. Continuously trying to step in for no reason, making me uncomfortable and overstimulated. I understand if he was trying to be helpful, but it really came off stalkerish and creepy. I even told him a few times that I was all set and didn’t need his assistance to which he then continUED to hover, asking for my phone number for the “point system” (again.. creepy). I’m not coming back here. Please teach your employees how to better read social queues and to back off of customers who clearly do not want person to person interaction. As someone who’s worked in retail, I would literally never treat a customer the way I was treated this evening. I hope this review helps better shape training points at this location and that the overly “friendly” white male associate/manager(?) gets spoken too.. he really creeped me out.

The vitamin and digestion aisle was well stocked with vitamins and acid blockers I needed. My only problem was that the numerous, and generous, offer stickers cluttered the shelves so much that it was a bit difficult to locate the vitamins I needed that were hidden behind their offer stickers. Photos of vitamin bottles hidden behind each offer sticker would have helped to identify the location of the corresponding items.

Ok I’ve been here a thousand times because I live so close. I had a bunch of glucose monitor questions and happen to get Jade (pharmacist) on the phone. She was by far the most helpful, genuine “happy to help you” person I’ve ever come across. I visited the store an hour later to pick up the items we talked about over the phone and she went out of her way to show me how to properly use everything. She made me finally feel at ease about all these new medical things I had to purchase. She is simply the best!

The usual bunch of subpar employees that work at CVS everywhere providing the usual subpar CVS customer service. Called at 2:50 pm on 6/29/23. I’m visiting Portsmouth and trying to get a prescription transferred here because it’s due. The pharmacy representative I spoke with first couldn’t get it through her head that I don’t normally get my prescriptions at CVS but instead UVA pharmacy. Once she actually listened to what I said, she said they would contact UVA pharmacy and request a prescription, but that they couldn’t promise when it would be available, not at all helpful for an out-of-town visitor to Portsmouth. Reminds me of CVS back home.Once she finally listened to me.

What an odd CVS (Islington St., Portsmouth). I asked for pseudoephedrine (the Sudafed ingredient that best works in this case) at the pharmacy, and know it requires an id. The woman there was very confused, and another was not helpful at all. Maybe learn pharmaceutical science before going behind that counter? It's not an unusual request. Just go to another location. I'd even prefer stopping by the South Main st., Manchester when I'm visiting my parents, despite being 50 miles away. They're excellent.

This stores pharmacy are complete liars, I called to see if they had a particular medication in stock that there is a shortage of and the pharmacist told me he couldn't give me that info over the phone, that my Dr would have to call it in, then he proceeded to tell me he couldn't tell me because of a robbery which there has been no robbery at this store that had anything to do with the prescription I was looking for that there is a shortage of this isn't the first time I've had trouble with, this pharmacy is a liar and is not there to help people!

MAybe do something about the orchestrated “shortages”. As a company you have the authority to control who you order from and talk with them about the issues which may arise. I love cvs but this location today just happened to catch me on a bad day sadly.

The pharmacy is excruciatingly slow every time I need to pick up or fill a prescription and there is no cell service or WiFi.

Always check your pricing as they make mistakes at the pharmacy. One man out of all the staff is always pleasant and helpful.

I would leave zero stars if possible. I had freshly gotten out of surgery and was in immense pain, went to the pharmacy straight from the hospital to get my pain med prescription, my mother had to go in because I was in too much pain to even get out the car, they told her there was no such prescription and were very rude and told her to go somewhere else when she brought up that she has frequent problems here then when I had to call them they were also very rude on the phone. Almost every time I have come here I’ve had a bad experience with the pharmacy. Prolonged my pain because the pharmacy workers are mean and rude.

We were on vacation and my husband forgot one of his medications. He visited this CVS, they pulled up his records from our local CVS and he was provided with the needed medication in less than 10 minutes so we could continue our vacation. Excellent experience and customer service!!!

Pharmacy has some real issues. 3 months in a row wrong counts....2 of those months we caught right right at the counter and off by 60......then 30 ....they dont expect you to open them right at the counter and they give you a hell of a time when you do...the last month i picked up a prescription for a family member...and i dont open someone elses prescription and perform counts.....but i sure as hell have permission to do so now. Off by 30...because i left the store they said all the counts on their end are right on...BUT....3 mis counts in a row shows a pattern...and thankfully clears me of any petty wrong doing by merely stopping by to pick up the prescription...we wont go back to portsmouth cvs...but if i had my choice id begin going in and counting every prescription across the board...and id bite the hand right off the thief back there stealing from sick people. Which is why ive been rerouted to another pharmacy. It appears their are better ways to catch pill thieves. My vote is for a decent caning...but they wanna see where this goes? ...portsmouth cvs pharma ? bad.........the rest of the store is very clean and in order.
