My stylist Carmen was wonderful, deserving 5 stars, and I will go back, but I would rather they didn’t allow dogs in the salon, for a number of reasons. This particular dog (possibly a French bulldog?), was acting aggressively, going after another client’s shoes, not growling or anything, but nonetheless bothering someone. The owner had to get up out of his seat to pull the dog back. He seemed to think it was kind of cute. Why would you bring your dog with you to get a haircut? And why would a salon owner want the liability that goes along with that?

Stylists were very friendly. They were only taking cash when we arrived but soon after their machines were fixed and we were able to pay with a card.

She asked me what I value more the length or the health of my hair & I said length a million times. That I didn’t want it short & she proceeded to cut off half off my length it’s so ugly an I’ll never go back

I had a good experience! My stylist, Jenna, asked thorough questions about what I wanted and gave me a great haircut. Also, this might be a weird compliment, but she used just the right amount of small talk. Sometimes when I get my haircut my stylist talks every second of the cut, which personally isn't my favorite, but Jenna and I were a great match. Good price too!

Three times I said, "The only thing I need to make sure of is that I can still put my hair in a ponytail." It was a simple haircut, simple request. Nothing fancy, just a very simple haircut--that I could have done better myself with the scissors on a swiss army knife. There was plenty of hair to begin with. It has been two weeks and I STILL can't put my hair in a ponytail. My job necessitates it and I am having to use bobby pins and barrettes to "tie" it back enough to keep it out of my face. It was the manager of the shop who cut my hair. I only went there because my regular place was too busy and I needed a haircut. This place's lack of business (none of the chairs were occupied while my regular place was jammed) was a red flag that I SHOULD have paid attention to. Never again. I looked on their website and emailed them asking how they could fix it and the Great Clips headquarters responded that the Portsmouth, NH shop would get in touch with me. They never did. You can't glue hair back on but they could have offered to at least, if nothing else, APOLOGIZE.

Horrible! I told the woman cutting my hair... Obviously not a stylist that I wanted it cut to my shoulders. Cheryl decided up to my ears would be good for a 60 something woman with thin hair. No layers like I asked. One uneven cut and we won't talk about the bangs clean up...Service: Haircut
