Unfriendly woman behind register. I tried joking with her but zero personality. I’ll go to the other Irish store instead.

Incredibly unfriendly and just plain mean staff. We stopped in on a weekend trip to Portsmouth. We love stopping in and shopping at Irish stores. My 2 year old daughter accidentally knocked over some small unbreakable items with her jacket on the bottom of a rack. The saleswoman gasped in disbelief to other customers along with loud moans and groans. We quickly pickedUp the items and went back to deciding on the many items we had planned to purchase. The customers that were also shopping asked the saleswoman how her day was….the saleswoman proceeded speak very loudly toward us answering that her day was just fine until a small child came in and knocked something over. I was so upset and in shock of how rude that my family was treated. I didn’t realize that shop only served a certain clientele. I told my family to put them items down and that we were leaving….the woman proceeded to say in a haughty tone …go ahead it was just a joke. I have never in my life been treated like that in a shop. It turns out it was happy accident because we ended up at Celtic Crossing where the owner was an absolute gem. She was kind and courteous and the same itemsWere 30% cheaper. Celtic crossing is the place to shop.

I had a great experience here during the Christmas season picking out a gift for my daughter. She wanted a slightly oversized cream colored fishermen's sweater and it was a little tricky figuring out the right size for her. The sales woman I worked with was very friendly and helpful, and in the end we ended up with the perfect fit. I'll totally be back. They had a wide range of items, some expected and others more unique. I'd say it was totally worth the trip to check it out, I know I'll be back.

This store is bigger than the store in Newburyport, Massachusetts. I have been to Ireland and England and visiting is more of my finding any reminder of the "home country". I found the reminder, surprisingly, in the food and caps. I have eaten the food they sell. They even sell fresh sausage right from the refrigerator! Seeing the caps reminds me of my grandfather.Service was okay. The lady behind the counter was helpful but didn't seem very friendly.

Irish sweater, hats, teas. The store clerk was not particularly friendly answering a question.

Stopped in to Ireland On The Square on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 and was immediately greeted by a woman (I didn't get her name) with a wonderful smile and extremely helpful. I wanted a unique ring and found the Marcasite and Connemara Shamrock ring - gorgeous! Before I found the right ring, this patient lady showed me dozens of rings and answered all my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to return. Sláinte

Lovely store. Bought a beautiful scarf there for my mother for Christmas. The woman working there was very helpful in helping me pick it out and was very patient with me while I went back and forth between 2 scarves! Very good price. Very helpful. Highly recommend.

This Irish shop in Market Square had a wide array of products. During my visit, I saw a lot of clothing and jewelry. There were also some imported gift items and food. Everything was of excellent quality. I liked the Irish Aran Sweaters made with Merino wool. One cardigan style for women had an off-center zipper and a high stand-up collar. If I remember correctly, it was $140.00. In the men’s clothing, there were sweatshirts and hoodies with Trinity College on the front. I also saw Donegal tweed flat caps. Another item I liked was a Claddagh ring. The style I liked best was a men’s as it had a larger center section where the hands and heart were. The shop had Claddagh rings in sterling silver and gold. The sterling silver rings were budget-priced well under $100.00. The woman running the shop, presumably the owner, was very nice and helpful. I rate my experience at Ireland On the Square at 4.50 and can recommend a visit. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.

If I could give it zero stars I would. We were so upset to be treated the way that we were. My boyfriend and I were hopping to pick up a couple cute gifts. But were asked to leave after spending only a few moments in the shop. It seems like only certain ppl are allowed in. Was hoping for something better in this area ugh :(
