Honestly I stopped in because my sister and I needed to use a rest room. After we used the very clean facilities I found a nice treat for my dog and we perused the available pets. The staff was helpful, funny, and not only answered our questions happily but went above and beyond making sure we not only had a great time while we were there but that we could continue our fun after we left. 10/5 stars for customer service!

What a complete disappointment. This store is very understaffed. The saltwater tanks are in very poor condition. The live rock is colonized with Aiptasia. This is a complete nuisance to get rid of once it invades your tank. I'm dealhe with a bubble algae that broke out after i got an urchin and a small piece of live rock from this location. The availability of quality fish and supplies low at best. Staff are less than knowledgeable about tank set up and maintenance. Save yourself the headache pick a different location for your aquarium needs

What a disaster this place is. The shelves are virtually empty. But the aisles are full of boxes. Apparently there is plenty of product but nobody to open the boxes and stock the shelves. Maybe get some main office folks in there to do it? Or raise the starting salary? They are losing a whole lot more money by doing nothing. And looks like the CEO makes over $18 million?

I have very little to say about this location except: I had my pets vaccinated last year at a different petco location, this year I scheduled an appointment in portsmouth. It took over a month to receive the appointment and then on the morning of my appointment they cancelled. no reason, no personal outreach--just an email saying it was cancelled. THEY REQUIRED ME TO RESCHEDULE. AFTER WAITING A MONTH I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 6 WEEKS. I reached out to their customer service and was told that I could only schedule via their website. I am going to visit my father in hospice and needed the vaccines in order to board my dogs in the kennel. They had no solution. Besides no notice, I received no help and no sympathy. Other stores know customer service. This place has NO HEART.

I went in to purchase a gecko last November. One of the workers in the reptile department told me I should buy 2 because they like to have a buddy. I learned later by a reptile specialist that they could potentially fight because they are not supposed to be together. I was also told to buy all of the wrong items. All of which could hurt my new geckos. When I tried to return the items they wouldn't take it back because of the return policy even though they are the ones that suggested these items. Granted I should have done more research before buying these pets. However their staff is not knowledgeable in the reptile department. Do your research before purchasing reptiles from this Petco.

I looked online prior to visiting to make sure a product was in stock and it wasn't. It allowed me to add it to my cart for 1 hour pickup. This has happened to me frequently at this location

This location is ALWAYS a mess!Multiple pallets of merchandise completely blocking some isles every time that I've been in.Dog food (Purina Pro Plan) is never in stock, despite it being readily available at a local competitor.This location is a complete disaster. Save your time and go to PetSmart.

This is one of the worst petcos. I have seen the aquatics is horrible they also left the bird door open when I was in store they had cyano in fishtanks and like no live rock in tank. Fish did not look happy or health. They left seaweed open and sitting on a shelf as well as a bucket of marine flakes. They were also missing tags for fish and not very knowledgeable about the aquatics
