That's why I bank with a small local credit union, Great Customer service. Had to go there for a specific bank statement. Everyone is awesome at this location. Highly recommend Service FCU for all your banking needs.

This credit union has been nothing but a nightmare to work with. First of all, it's basically impossible to get ahold of anyone. Second, they are huge bullshitters. Every single customer service representative we've ever spoken to just bullshits us. We shipped our car from Germany to italy with no issues. Now, we are trying to ship our car from Italy to the US, and there are all these issues, and they don't have the correct documents after over a year of paying off this vehicle. No one has the answers. No one is helping us. They told us to sell the car. They are not looking out for their customers. I would never recommend wasting a moment of your time or money on them. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE! NIGHTMARE!!!!

On January 21, 2023. I applied online for a savings account with Service CU.On January 23, 2023. I received an email requesting documents to help verify my identity. I recently legally changed my name. This may not be reflecting on my consumer reports, so I also included a copy of the court order changing my name. I sent them a copy of my social security card with my new name and a copy of an insurance policy.On January 27, 2023. I received an voicemail requesting that I call to follow up.I tried several times to call them, and on February 2, 2023, I was able to speak to a representative. I verified several questions, although I did have to pause to look up the credit limit of one of my credit cards. I have a general idea of my credit limits, but I do not know all of them exactly off the top of my head. This is something that most people would not have knowledge off the top of their head. The representative stated I would receive an email in a few moments. This email never arrived.On February 3, 2023, a ACH debit of $500 was made from the account that I designated for the opening deposit.On February 15, 2023, I received an adverse action notice February 4, 2023, stating that they were unable to verify my identity.On February 15, 2023, I reached out to Service CU via telephone and requested assistance setting up an online login. The representative directed me to send an email, which I did and I received a reply on February 17, 2023 requesting additional information. I have not yet replied to this email.On February 22, 2023, I received an ACH credit of $500 to the account that I designated for the opening deposit.I can appreciate that they were unable to verify my identity, even though I provided extensive documentation and was able to properly answer questions regarding my credit report. It is inappropriate then when they declined my application, they still debited my account, did not clearly state that I didn't have an account on February 15, and additionally they did not return my funds for 19 calendar days.In any case, their customer service was extremely lacking and I'd recommend not doing business with them.

I tried to pull $15,000 from my account and was told they can only do $5,000 a day. I went to my other bank and was able to pull money no problem. Will most likely keep my money where I can actually access it.

Wish I could have picked no stars! The service and friendliness at the Portsmouth office is HORRIBLE! They are very quick to judge and then treat you like a complete piece of junk! I would never recommend them to anyone ever!!!! Not to mention they messed up on my 14 years olds account and CANT fix it!!! Please do not bank with them!!! You will regret it.

I was actually very happy with Service Credit Union when I first joined them in early 2021, as they have some interesting offerings that other credit unions do not offer (24 hour customer service, high interest savings options, free checking). I was not prepared for their hard core response in denying me a bonus for opening a new checking account. First of all, they tried to point out conditions which were not listed in the terms as the basis for denying the bonus. After I pointed out this fact, then their customer service "professional" decided to argue that since I had had a checking account with them before, I was not eligible for the bonus, even though their terms limit the bonus only when you have an existing checking account, or if you have tried to close and reopen a checking account in order to obtain the bonus. Thanks to their scorched earth and completely non-customer friendly attitude, I will be closing all 3 of my accounts with them and moving to a more customer friendly institution.

Update 4/12/22 They have finished updating their systems and worked the glitches out and are now much better at communicating with. I'm very happy now and look forward to being a customer of theirs in the future. They have become the absolute worst credit union, they should be forced to close. I've been a customer since 1982 and can't believe how terrible they are now. This last year has been horrible.

Typically I am not one to write reviews but this bank is horrible!! They were good when I first signed up and for awhile until the last year. They processed my direct deposit late and said it was due to their processing department not getting to it which made autopay for bills bounce - luckily, I called and paid when the deposit was finally made and none were late. I also wrote a check to my landlord for rent with the money in the account and thensome. Again, due to late processing of the check and it was listed as processed and I made sure the funds and thensome were again in there, that bounced and was late because of their late processing and backlog, customers are dealing with the extra unneeded stress of these issues. I am leaving this bank immediately. Things that are not consumers fault are becoming stress and burdens to them. I am a very financially independent/responsible professional and this bank is awful. I work with people every day all day. If I operated like this, I would be fired. I am changing backs this weekend. Customer service completely sucks. There are 45 callers ahead of you and its not sometimes its all of the time. I've been on hold for 30+ at times. DON'T USE THIS BANK. From one professional to another. You will be let down BIG TIME. Don't fall for the good rates, easy approval loans, etc. It's a scam - basically, things that come that easy are for a low class/service business that operates as such!!

Probably the worst customer service experience I've had in years. I was a member years ago and they were great. I had never been to this branch before until today and the woman was beyond rude. She wanted me to do everything online including becoming a member even though I was at the branch in person. Unfortunate. Because of your rude customer service I will be processing my loan elsewhere. She suggested I go to the Walmart branch down the street because they were too "short staffed" to help me. There was one other customer in this huge bank and roughly 10 employees standing around. Never again.

Service credit union is a waste of your life, and mine, to say the LEAST. DO NOT put your money in this bank, you will sorely regret every single aspect of this bank, the customer service, money handling and FEES. Do not have the same regret I do, just don't even bother breathing in this banks direction. Even THAT gives this bank way too much credit, and that's saying a LOT. There's so much I could say, but please trust me, and don't even bother, unless you're looking for more hardship in your life. Who knows maybe you are, but if you want a bank that won't force you to go to collections (which this bank almost certainly has brought me to the brink of SEVERAL times because of their ultimate lack of consideration/care/customer service/greediness), go to LITERALLY ANY OTHER BANK. DO NOT USE THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A BANKING INSTITUTION. Just *DON'T*. Or you *WILL* regret it.

Anytime you call them, there’s between 30 to 50 people in line ahead of you. Every single time I called, the person that ended up answering was completely unable to solve my problem. They have constant technical issues, and you will spend hours on the phone with them for one simple problem without any answers.

ZERO STARS if I could rate that. First of all their customer service is horrible. I was constantly interrupted and spoken to like an idiot. Second, I tried to make my final payment on my car loan today and they wanted to charge me the total my online account said I would owe today PLUS all the interest until the payment goes through. They said if I went to one of their locations, all of which are over an hour away from me, and paid with a check I could pay todays payoff amount. How is paying by check any different than paying with my checking account? I was on the phone with them for FORTY (40) minutes trying to resolve this. I'm glad I was able to pay off this loan so I can CLOSE all my accounts with them and never have to deal with such incompetence again.

This has to be the worst bank of any bank in the US. I signed a loan for a car with them, a lease that I bought out. I couldn't register or insure the care until I got the title paperwork. That took over a month to get. Now they are charging me for not having the vehicle insured. I tried to insure it and you cannot insure it without a valid registration!!
