This place is amazing. Very rustic and like old times. This is not something that is fancy or updated even. If you want all the commodities of the world not the place dor you. If you want to go back in time and relax go for this place. It is also close prox to many trails to hike.

The room was full of dog hair which got our allergies pretty bad. We have a dog at home and this was bad. Heat did not work properly. It was either 90 degrees or freezing, no thermostat in the room. Our neighbors came in at midnight and after sweltering in our room it was super awesome of their dog to start scratching or whining while we were trying to get our kids to stay sleeping. Walls are paper thin.

The girl at the desk when we checked in was friendly and gave us great advice for seeing the colors of fall the next day. The room is dated. Cheap toilet paper and no kleenex. The one chair was uncomfortable. The walls are thin enough that we heard the kids on one side playing till late and the couple next door were either honeymooning or having an affair. The breakfast was cold cereal or granola bars. The location was spectacular. So beautiful and close to lots of things to do. Unfortunately, this was our most expensive place we stayed on our 4 week trip. Not worth the money.

This place is cozy and has a great view! The gentleman in the office was so nice and helpful. The rooms weren't too big kinda old but clean and the beds were comphy. I would definitely stay here again!!Nearby activities: Santa's village is just 11 minutes down the road.Crystal Cascades waterfall is just 22 minutes away. There's many hiking trails and snowmobile trails within 30 minutes of here

Stayed here for the hiking convenience. It was an out dated dump. Dishes were filthy, mold in the shower, and was just gross. You can tell whoever owns it is too cheap to put any money into it. You feel like you need to take a shower when you leave. Wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me. Don’t do it!Rooms: They suck

Disappointing. Paid for a Deluxe Cabin, Mountain View after reviewing the facility on their website. Pictures on the website are extremely misleading; our cabin was nothing like the pictures. Although the cabin by itself was nice the accommodations were quite run down and felt sketchy. There is no way I would have used the shower, and felt uncomfortable using the bathroom at all - the floor was a weird squishy vinyl. The view was not anything special, we could see the office and trailer sign from the majority of our windows, the bedroom window faced the rest of the cabins. We had to walk outside to see the pretty mountain views. On the positive side, the staff was very nice and they have a nice little store in the office. It was a warm place to stay for the night. We were in Cabin 29.

This is not a fancy motel but spacious room, colorful units, quiet, very reasonable and comfortable mattress.

In short terms, sweet, quiet, and beautiful motel. In loooong terms: Went here at 7 pm. Rooms were super clean, beds were nice, and while the "tech" inside the cabins wasn't that new, It was still very cosy and nice. But when going here don't expect a 5 star hotel with rooms the size of a BUILDING. Come here for the food or the cabins. Go to this motel because it's 37 minutes away from the Cog railway, and because you can not get a more cosy feeling anywhere else nearby.Rooms: Decent and cosy rooms, air conditioner is a bit old, and the rooms are not the biggest (two can fit per cabin comfortably), loved the fact that there were a bunch of pictures of bears, not for everyone though. But it's worth it.Nearby activities: Cog railway, and others that motel staff recommend.

This was a wonderful place for my family to stay! My kids loved the bunk beds, I loved the kitchenette. This is not a place for everyone- it is rustic. If you like fancy and quiet, this may not be the place for you to stay. Family and dog friendly!

The place is just a four- or five-minute drive from the Appalachia parking lot. I called to reserve a room (and received a discount for booking directly, not online) because I knew that my hike would end late (11 p.m.). A key was left for me, and I had lodging for the night. The room is utilitarian but clean. I was skeptical of the bed, a single mattress, no box spring, on a metal frame, but it was very comfortable. There was a small refrigerator, already running, with plenty of room for my three water bottles. There was also a microwave oven and a coffee maker, but I did not use either of them.I thought at first that the electric outlets were all mounted too high to plug in my electronic devices, which have relatively short cords, but I found an outlet underneath the bedside table and was able to set my camera on the floor and recharge its battery. One word of warning. The shower stall did not have a grab bar or any of those no-slip strips on its floor. When I raised one foot in order to wash it, I nearly fell, the floor is so slick. I caught myself before I did fall, but it was a close call.I would definitely stay here again, should the need arise.

Good place stay with your dog, but + 25 US more.Small house was clean, cozy but only one outlet, no hairdryer and need paint touchups.Great mountain views outside + playground for kids+backyard place to walk with your dog. Breakfast restaurant not so far
