I recently needed to call Eastern propane to help me with a concern I had regarding my propane tanks. I received one of the most amazing assists I have ever had (with any vendor) from Rachel (Customer Service). As a manager of a customer care team myself, I just want to say how impressed and grateful I am to her for her outstanding skills, attitude, guidance and overall help. She was most delightful to work with and solved my every need and then some. Eastern propane has earned my business for as long as I need propane. Thank you, Rachel! You are appreciated!!

Updated…. From initially quite difficult customer service to being able to resolve the issue with management. Thank you to the manager for resolving the issue, I just wish it didn’t take a couple of phone calls to get to the right person.

We recently had a service call with a very professional & efficient technician (Nicholas, I think). He resolved a longstanding problem, which both Rhymes & an independent provider could not resolve. I actually spent over $800 dollars prior to this service call without having the issue fixed (Boiler would come on & shut off within seconds throughout the day). The house never could get warm. Since Eadtern's visit, the 4 year old system has never worked this well. Thank you so much.

absolute terrible experience with eastern propane and oil terrible shady company. recently bought my house. had a beat up old eastern propane tank on the property. I found a competing company Palmer gas was able to cut their propane rates by nearly in half!! eastern propane told me that they must come pick up their tank on my property and didn't give me any other options. I talked to multiple people at eastern thought the process and I got a few different people telling me something different. one said 20 dollar pick up fee another said probably won't be anything because they want their property back. they ended up setting on a 100$ fee to pick up an empty tank because I told them I went with a competitor I'm glad I ran far far away from eastern. you should too

Worst company every dealt with. Had to use company as the house I purchased has an underground propane tank for heat and cooking owned by Eastern propane. When I set up a account with them,I received an invoice for $50.00 for the privelage of setting up an account with them . They DID NOT notify me there would be an adminstrative charge. This gets better, the previous owner of the property would order fuel in 100 gallon increments of course they would only deliver 200 gallons minimun to me. Iwas stuck using Eastern and every time there pricing was not competive minimun of 1.50 per gallon higher. The other kicker was they charge a few if you do not use a full tank of full for the season, which I realize is industry standard now, but this was not explained and never had a formal signed contract with Eastern. They would not sell me the tank until this season which I bought from Eastern this season. Good riddance!!!!!

Has to be the biggest Billing Scam in the State of NH.I paid my propane bill Last winter Thru January on Feb 22nd.My first bill For February should be March 24th - Nope not according to Eastern. I'm 30 days behind before February is completed. They shut my propane for heat off 45 days after the 24th. In Eastern Propane's billing where you're billed before you use the month I was 60 days over. I had credit cards on file, and setup auto billing with the receptionist year prior. Last Today says "Ya, I don't see any notes" Because someone doesn't do the job correctly the customer surfers. Today it cost me $300 to unlock the propane - $200 security $99 reconnection fee. I can't use another company as my housing company uses Eastern only. I will file with the Better business Bauru - will follow up for deceptive billing practice. As no customer of any product should be Billed before the month billing cycle is finished. How can you owe for a month of Propane half way thru the month??I checked my account in June, and it showed me with a -$4 balance. Which they used my security deposit to pay whatever back bill I had, and then jack up the new security deposit. This is how a company treat NH Customers in an already poor economic climate. If you're looking to add new propane please seek another company as these folks have zero interest in Customer service. how about Putting a sticker on the clients door 30 days from dis connect in an apartment facility. "Oh we put the notice on the meter." The meter that's a half mile down the road from my apartment?

The good: telephone staff extremely nice; good service from delivery drivers; propane regularly topped up - they have telemetric device so can see monitor levels in the underground tank. Prices are reasonable and allow for even better rates thru our local fuel club which is appreciated. The bad: had the furnace serviced this year and part of that was getting radiant heat flushed. I asked how much the antifreeze would be. Staff didn't know. I went online and see that Rhogard 5 gal antifreeze $145. So expected something in that range. Travis came and serviced the boiler - did great job, gone in just 45 min, extremely efficient. Bill arrived and it was $171 for Travis and $230 (!!!!!) for the antifreeze. The ugly: I called to query charge with the staff, and finally (after leaving several call back messages) 3 weeks later got to the manager who said "Sorry, nothing I can do about it". Completely immovable on the grossly inflated antifreeze. Would not tell me their wholesale cost. Seemed busy and rather annoyed by my call. Surely they are getting at a price of probably $115 wholesale and no doubt charging customers double. So... aware of anything beyond propane delivery. If getting a service thru Eastern - beware - do not book without knowing EXACTLY what is being supplied, getting estimate in writing. If replacing any parts, based on my experience, I would imagine they will be charging the earth. So I will use them for propane, but not for future servicing. Sadly, once a bill is generated at Eastern, there appears to be no changing it.

I would like to acknowledge Eastern Propane’s employees Patrick, Ted and the lady in sales who set up my appointment. All were so pleasant , knowledgeable and informative. I am so glad I went with this company. I would recommend them highly. Cinderella Weber

Their service plan coverage is a joke. The did a yearly service of my boiler (five years old), but refused to service the leaking expansion tank. Three weeks later the tank burst sending boiling water all over the basement. Eastern refused to take responsibility even though the expansion tank was in my service plan. Their manager gave me all kinds of tech excuses why they aren't responsible. They eagerly take your money for the plan, but then when it comes time to do what's in the plan, they hide. JG, Wolfeboro

Worst fuel service I have ever heard of. 1, they require more credit to sign up with their service than you need to buy a house. 2, disorganization led to three separate times they messed up and didn't set us to auto-fill, though to be fair, they only charged us the priming fee once, and admitted fault for the others, though that didn't help us avoid the lock down price available through their auto-fill setup. Because of this, we spent more than a month this winter without heat or hot water. 3rd, there initial inspection was awful, they didnt notice that the tank was not level, the gauge indicating how much fuel is in the tank still has not been fixed, and they identified the tank as 125 gallons smaller than it actually is. 4th,when my gf was admitted to the hospital with a life threatening illness, and we missed one payment (informing them what was happening of course) they sent us a notice saying they were sending us to collection if we did not pay everything owed within the week, and no more oil would be delivered until the bill was payed in full, leaving my child and pregnant gf with no oil again. I get that people need your oil to survive, but should that really give you such a sense of power? I would urge everyone to avoid this company at all costs.

When I bought my home there was an existing propane tank from Eastern. They began trying to charge me an unjustified "rental fee" when I didn't buy enough propane from them and refused to stop trying to charge me. I gave them the choice to stop charging me and keep my business or to remove their tank. They chose to remove their tank. I told them I wouldn't pay a removal fee and they (Cory) agreed to to wave all fees. I was told I would get a refund for the propane in the tank but they ended up giving me store credit and took the removal fee from that credit. There was never a contract between us and I never agreed to their terms. I'll now be suing them to recover my full refund. If you're going to deal with this company they will expect you to be under their thumb. Don't be that type of weak person.

I purchased a house that had an Eastern tank used for just cooking. This year I recieved a tank rental charge. To make a long story short, they are coming to remove the tank and will be attempting to charge me a pickup fee. I was considering switching providers for my heating oil, but after this experience I think I'll stick with the company I know. Unpleasant customer experience.

Worst place to get oil. Paid my bill and their collections fee. Was told if I need to get oil to just call and I would just have to pay prior to delivery. I call and requested a delivery in which I was then basically told they can’t do that and they are “no longer accepting new accounts” etc and before answering any other concerns or questions I was hung up on.ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND eastern scam propane.

If you want a company that leaves receipts, let’s you know how much they put in when they were here, what the cost per pound was and how much your bill is DO NOT USE Eastern Propane. We never know when they have been here until the money is deducted or an email is received. This is frustrating! How am I supposed to know you were really at my house and that I’m being charged the correct amount? Mistakes can happen. We have asked multiple times for a receipt to be left, they have a way to print and they do not! Defiantly considering having them pick up the tanks this summer!
