If I could give this bank 0 stars I would. I got a car loan through them, and since the very first month I had called and Emailed repeatedly in order to change the date the payment was due as it did not work for me. No one ever got back to me, and they kept assessing me ridiculous late fees every month. Every month I would speak to a representative via phone or Email about changing the date, and they assured me they would send me the paperwork to do so and never did. To this day, probably 10 phone calls and e-mails later my date still isn’t officially changed and they charge me late fees every month. They do call and send you paperwork multiple times a month however to remind you that your bill is due. Sometimes I get the same bill three times a month eve though my payment date hasn’t passed. If you go even a couple days beyond the due date you get multiple phone calls and messages. It’s actually absurd. I have never dealt with any bank or financial institution that is so money hungry and has such poor customer service. They are borderline harassing. I am doing everything I can to move my loan elsewhere and highly suggest you avoid this bank.

Left a conglomerate bank and came here. World of difference! The service here is amazing. When we purchased a home I felt like the loan officer we worked with (who got promoted to VP) really took the time to know us. She really cared, went the extra mile and deserved that promotion. Some of the systems seem a little dated compared to other banks, but I'll give them time to catch up because the service is so good.

A trustworthy bank with amazing stuff that they are ready for help in all inquiries, even if they don't have a specific service you need they do their best to let you know where you could have it.

Horrible bank. They try to tell you what you can and cannot spend your money on and constantly have fraud alert call and lock your card over the same purchases and places you go to all the time. Was also given a hard time when closing the account and due to this constant frustration. Every time I called to fix these issues no one seemed to know or tell me why it’s been like this. They need to teach these people how to be customer friendly and not mess around with peoples money. Horrible bank/horrible customer service. Glad i closed my account!

1. My elderly mother is uncomfortable using the drive through option. Right now, that is the ONLY option being afforded to her, as she does not currently have a safety deposit box (apparently, that is required for lobby appointments). I attempted to use the online banking service for her instead, but could not remember my ID (I am on the accounts as well), since I rarely access them. They had NO capacity to supply my ID to refresh the password, and went so far as to tell me I had no online account with them - so...what did I previously log onto to see her balance? The management of this place is ludicrous. Lots of other businesses have somehow been able to keep people "safe" while actually granting reasonably easy access to their services. They have shown no capacity to do so. FAIL. 2. The customer service coming outside option was not offered as an alternative until I posted this review - it was previously offered only if the drive through wasn't sufficient. My mother doesn't use a cell phone. How does she contact them without going through the drive through? (see above). Again, clueless. Just take appointments for God's sake. I especially enjoyed, after stating she doesn't use or have internet, being asked if she had an e-mail account. They DO know how e-mail works, right? UPDATE: I had to re-enroll in their on-line banking, which had me enter 5 security questions. These can't be used to retrieve a sign-on ID? Turns out they ARE used when setting up the mobile app. The mobile app didn't work for me when outside of wifi range, but after a couple of tries, I finally managed to get a check deposited. Total time to accomplish the check deposit: 1 week. If you think that's good customer service, by all means, carry on. Oh, and they also gave my brother a hard time cashing a check drawn on their bank a few months ago, even though he provided his driver's license.

I have used the services at Salem Co-Operative Bank for over 18 years. I have always gotten great customer service from every one at the bank. I have made special requests that have been provided in a timely manner. I cannot recommend this bank enough for all your banking needs.

The Paycheck Protection Program listed this bank as an approved lender to help keep the Essential companies working in these trying times. We were told that they would not accept application for the Payroll Protection Program assistance because we were NON-members of this bank!! They did not suggest we become a member, they said try back in a few weeks maybe then. Small companies will be closed in a few weeks if this is the assistance that they are offering. SHAME!

Stopped into this bank today to withdraw money from the ATM machine in the lobby. Then proceeded into the bank to get change for a $20.00 bill. The teller asked if I had an account at the bank and I said no I would just like to get change for a $20.00. She then said she wouldn't be able to help me unless I had an account... I only wanted to get change for a $20.00 ? Needless to say I wont be doing any banking in the future or recommend them to anyone!! Thanks my Rant!! And you can take that to the bank!!

Purchased a home and was recommended to visit Salem Co-Op for the mortgage. The process was extremely easy and effortless. Kim Kelley and Crystal Abel were pleasure to do business with, at the beginning they gave me a simple checklist of information to provide them with, once I did that they were able to do what they needed to do. Less than 30 days later I closed the mortgage with the lowest rate in the area. Before you go anywhere else stop by and speak with Kim Kelley. I'm truly a customer and can't be happier with the decision to finance with Salem Co-Op
