About Sanbornton Rest Area
The Sanbornton Rest Area is a well-maintained and convenient stop for travelers. The rest stop features clean bathrooms, plenty of vending machines, and a great little hiking trail behind the building that offers a 10-15 minute walk through the woods - a perfect way to stretch your legs after a long drive. While the building itself may not always be open, there are Porta potties on-site that are well-stocked and clean. The rest area also has picnic benches and a cozy fire burning inside, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and visitors can even spot a historic Count Rumford fireplace that was built many years ago, though it is no longer in use. Overall, the Sanbornton Rest Area provides a pleasant and functional stopping point for those passing through the area.
