Do not use this business for anything. They do not stand behind anything.The original sales person was fired. The owner said he would make it right. He back peddled, did not make anything right. Could have had a catastrophic fire!Let’s add that he called me a liar!!

I feel bad for The business owners reading some of the negative reviews especially the woman talking about how she thought she could install the stove themselves.If you don’t have basic knowledge and handtools, you shouldn’t even attempt to do it yourself. It is easy for somebody like myself and my friends, but the average homeowner… You can’t do it that’s your problem pay somebody!!!!My experience with the girl on the telephone today was excellent she was super efficient and gave me a discount because the website had a higher price… The part was shipped immediately and she was nothing short of pleasant.As near as I can tell, these people are great! Thank you very much from Massachusetts!!!!

Definitely a local store in Wakefield. I've had two interactions at this store, and neither were great. I wish them the best in customer service. It will be their downfall if not corrected. However we do not recommend this store as helpful or friendly.

A very nice place, nice showroom and helpful staff, the small engine repair shop is top shelf too.Update, a few years later and my above statement is still accurate. A great place to do business. All kinds of stoves, accessories and cool stuff.

We had an excellent experience with the purchase & installation of our gas insert fireplace. During installation a problem was detected with a valve in our propane tank, and the technician would not proceed until the gas company replaced the valve. We’ve been using the fireplace for 4 years & it continues to heat the house on frigid winter mornings. The Woodman’s team also repaired a snowblower for us. They offer pickup & delivery service.

Horrible experience. Bought a pellet stove August 2021. Had to wait till October 2021 to have it installed as they didn’t have anyone to do it. Had to go through someone in Maine to install it. Worked fine on the test run, but has been failing ever since. Technician came out once, CHARGED us, couldn’t find anything, and tightened a couple screws because the fan was noisy. After multiple calls to the technician who never came back wanted US to do the troubleshooting. Multiple calls to the shop with NO response, months later we got a phone call saying they are refusing to take it back and informed us the manufacturer said the same thing. Wish we did our homework and read the reviews ahead of time. Buyer beware dealing with this company

I took my Jotul 602 in for repairs. They were having staffing problems which I understand. When I received it back it had a white substance all over one side of it. I phoned to ask about what this might be and they were immediately on the offense. I sent photos at their request and got a call back to say it must be something I spilled on the stove. It appears as though some substance leaked out when the stove was laying on it's side during their repairs process. I was inquiring to see if they could advise me as to how to remove the stain myself. They never called back when I made my second request for information. also they scratched the heck out of my green enamel which is very unprofessional. Top dollar paid for repairs and poor work and very poor attitude toward customers. Not many other companys do what they do so I guess they've got you.

I have done business with this place several times. Bought a pellet stove, green egg grill and just recently a wood stove. Needed exhaust motor for my pellet stove. Called, sent pictures. They never returned my text. Service after the sale nonexistent.

This is a very hard review to write, so please let me explain.Woodman's Forge & Fireplace is an excellent place to shop for your wood heating supplies, the owner and customer service is great along with there selection of pellet stoves and wood stoves along with everything you need or might want for your heating needs.(with that being said for this portion I would give them 4-1/2 STARS )Now for the review of the installation of the pellet stove that was purchased.Two young men arrived to install the stove, both of them very polite and respectful,But they were at the house for over 6 hrs, to install a pellet stove.they arrived with the bare minimum of tools and no extra supplies, which i found quite concerning seeing how they had a trailer with them with no extra material.( they should of had everything they needed for what ever situation arose )The installation of the chimney pipe that had to go through the ceiling went in well,unfortunately the cold air intake that went through the side wall took the majority of the time when it should not of. They ended up just throwing the pipe in so sloppy that you could see out side. This should not of happened especially with Homedepot a mile down the road they had every means to get what they were lacking in order to do the job right.Needless to say i had to rip out the cold air intake pipe and reinstalled it the right way and the way they should of done it. These installers seemed to of had no construction experience at all.When you pay to have the pellet stove installed you need to make sure that the installers are fully qualified and competent to do the work professionally.( so it is for this reason i am giving this poor review)

I don’t recommend this business.We bought a pellet stove from them a year ago.We at first declined them to install thinking we could ourselves because the salesman said “it’s easy to install”. The same salesman who no longer works there, and was fired.When we picked up the pellet stove and kit they told us we had everything but we didn’t; and the install was extremely difficult for us.Wasn’t self explanatory. We called them and messaged them during Covid to hire them for the install. It took over 2 months to get someone to respond. The person who reached out to us asked for photos of the spot where the pellet stove was going. Then silence. My husband drove to the business to speak to someone finally getting somewhere. They set a date to install.They charged us another $158 for the part we didn’t get while picking up the pellet stove. They kept saying we got it but we didn’t. It’s a new construction house, and the pellet stove and all its equipment was in the same corner since the day we got it. We looked high, and low for the vent they said we got. The manager was awfully rude when we talked to her.When they came to install they left without speaking to us, and then called said they were going to change us again to come out to install the vent another $158I had to pay this again to have them come out to install the vent.Today the guy came to install the vent he wasn’t here for an hour, and they want us to pay a 2 hour minimum which is $90 an hourWe have security camera proving he wasn’t even here for an hour.If you want to be ripped off go here. Calling BBB(According to the guy on the phone he said “it wouldn’t be the first or last people contacted the BBB” he didn’t seem fazed or bothered by that at all. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.Oh, and they say there going to charge our credit card without our permission. They wrote our information down and that’s illegal.

I’ve purchased lawn tractors, leaf blowers and chainsaws (new one today) there and they always treat me great. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, tolerant of my nonsense (I came in late and needed lots of assistance at the end of their day on a Saturday), and fair. Their service department is very capable and helpful as well. I feel lucky to have a place like that right here in East Wakefield!(Edited to fix a typo)

Nice selection of wood and pellet stoves with knowledgeable staff. 20 minutes before the scheduled arrival time for installation of my new stove ( which I took day off of work and drove an hour to meet them) they called and said sorry they had to cancel a guy called in sick). Just a sorry, then had to wait two more weeks for install. office staff was unresponsive and didn't care they put me out. The install guys were Great. Very Very knowledgeable and very neat. I thought the customer service over the phone as the issue was on their side could of been 100 better

I purchased a Ravelli pellet stove last year from these folks. It was a mess from day one regarding the pad - they brought one over that was broken, and then I had to wait weeks for the new one to come in. Finally the stove was installed, and it worked well.Fast forward a year. We are trying to get the stove fired up to prepare for the Fall and the dipping temperatures, and there's no technician on staff to support us. There are no alternative companies in our area that do service us. We have a stove that we cannot get repaired.
