The staff at every west marine seem to think that anyone who comes in there is about to spend their day boating. Some of us are grabbing stuff to work with and need to get moving! Always very slow and never know the answers to questions. However, they are nice and do try to help. Kudos for that. Also west marine has mostly what you need, but they're quite expensive.

I like West Marine. I rediscovered it after purchasing an RV. It has many products that can be cross overs. This location has a great selection to choose from. If you own a camper, keep the marine industry in mind for parts and supplies.

I went in just because I wanted to look around the West marine. We don't have them where I live. Nobody bothered me. Staff was probably fine, but I didn't really talk to anybody.

I have been dealing with this store for a warranty issue with a chair and they have yet to warranty it. They claim they are waiting for the chair to “come in” yet I can easily order a ship to store same chair to it.

If you just want run of the millRope and stuff, sure its a place to go. The prices arent great and every time i've ever gone there looking for specific parts, tools and specialty chemicals or supplies they almost never have it. They will tell you another location has it, and when you get there they retrieve the wrong item from the shelf and then tell you the one you need they don't have... dont waste your time. Go somewhere else

Seabrook store: Shelves were unorganized and barely stocked. Staff said they could not get supplies but when you look up at top aisle storage there was plenty of stock. Bob was a joke! I asked him about where I could find a product and instead of showing me he just stood with his back to me and said “over there” with a finger point. I left the store and drove 20 miles to the Portsmouth West Marine. The manager - another Bob - was EXCELLENT! He really knows his stuff about boats and how to take care of customers! Yes they are also experiencing stock shortages but Bob literally walked me aisle to aisle and explained products. He also made sure I got the correct annodes. Thanks Bob of the Portsmouth store! Customer for life here.

Went to the Seabrook, NH store today to purchase a life vest. I looked it up on the website and this was the only store that showed any in stock. I drove 45 minutes to get there. When I arrived I couldn’t find the vest. I checked the website against on my phone and it showed 4 in stock. I went to the register and asked about the vest. I told him the website showed they had 4 in stock. He checked on his register and it said they had 2. He never made an effort to help me, just said all vests were aisle 8. Absolutely pathetic service. If this is the best you have West Marine, you are in big trouble. If I didn’t have a gift card from my son, I would go elsewhere. This will be the last time I shop West Marine.

I drove 40 minutes to get an igloo cooler that was supposedly in stock. According to their website they had two of them. The employees were very nice, which is the only reason I didn't give it one star, as they admitted the store hadn't done an inventory in over 18 months and it was very normal that their systems would say they had stuff when they didn't and sometimes would even say they didn't have stuff when they did. The store looked like a bomb went off with most aisles a mess or with empty shelves. Probably the worst part is that they have no process for deleting the two missing coolers from their inventory, which means others may very well experience the same thing I did, even for the two missing coolers, let alone everything else which inventory is inaccurate.
