I joined Works with high expectations, attracted by its reputable facilities and promises of excellent member services. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory, primarily due to the significant lack of support and apparent indifference once you’re a committed member.Initially, the membership service team was very persuasive and attentive, seemingly dedicated to providing the best customer experience. However, once I was locked into a yearly contract, the attentiveness dramatically decreased, and my concerns were met with ignorance and inaction.Several issues have persisted throughout my membership, notably the non-functional Wi-Fi, which has been a problem for over two weeks. Despite multiple complaints to both the front desk and the member service manager, there has been no effort to communicate a plan or timeline for resolution. This lack of communication and transparency is frustrating and unacceptable for a gym that prides itself on being a top-tier establishment. In conclusion, while Works may have the potential to be a great gym, the current management and member service approach are highly disappointing. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for the management to start taking its members’ concerns seriously and to uphold the standards they advertise. Until then, I would advise potential members to consider these issues seriously before committing to a membership.

I am VERY happy there have been some recent upgrades to the weight training equipment and free weights. And the reconfiguration in the upstairs cardio room and the updated stretching room have made working out here enjoyable again. ALMOST makes it worth the exorbitant membership fee lol.

I've been trying to become a member for years, but they won't give me a price. It's always assessments and insurance. I think I'll just give up. I just use planet fitness. Too bad they won't give me a price.

Very overpriced, dated equipment, slow to respond to maintenance issues (if at all). Leadership is inept and out of touch with business. So much wasteful spending; e.g. many screens that have been added are off, many employees sitting at welcome center watching members scan their membership card. Mass General Brigham should be ashamed to operate this facility; although I am not in favor of them requiring the employees to wear masks, it is appalling to see employees improperly wearing their masks with no repercussions. Either enforce your policy or change it.

The variety of workout machines and free weights make this a decent gym, the additional amenities make it an even better gym. They have lots of programs for all ages and interests. The price is a bit excessive but I'm thankful my work supplements the membership cost. I love how easy the gym is to access and the hours work with my schedule.Having just moved from Hawaii though, I do wish they would turn the temperature up in the weight room. The ladies room is nice and warm, but it's hard to work up a sweat when the weight room is so chilly.

I have belonged to many gyms over the course of my life - Gold's, Balli, WOW, and some smaller private ones. This is by far the best. They have 3 pools, a large hot tub, and rooms after room of exercise machines. The locker rooms are impeccable (at least the two women's locker rooms are) and have sauna and steam rooms. The staff is very helpful. I see others have complained about the cost, however, I have paid almost as much at FAR less superior gyms. For all that you get, including an outside pool area that rivals any great resort, I think it is a fantastic deal.

The Works sales staff, particularly Doug were completely inept as they could not determine if reasonable accommodation for a wheelchair user would be allowed. Note: I was asking to accompany my wife in the lap lane while she exercises. She needs a little help. Doug lied about if the manager was there who could make a decision. Doug did not listen when we called prior to coming in nor did the staff communicate with each other. Doug was ill prepared for our appointment and wasted our time. I left angry, insulted, and dissatisfied. Seems completely wrong for a gym connected with a hospital. The Works sales staff should be ashamed and Doug needs a new job. Maybe doing lawn maintenance at a graveyard. There, his lack of listening skills would not be noticed.

The class instructors are great, quite a few of the instructors are also personal trainers. I have been going for awhile now and they have been very helpful to me

Happy to be able to do a pool class this am. Staying safe was not a problem. Social distancing was followed in the pool. We stayed in the same spot while exercising. I felt safe and was happy to be back to the gym. I love the works. I can count on them to keep us safe. It is my happy place and would recommend this gym to anyone that are looking for a variety of ways to exercise.
