Went on a Sunday because the website said it was open and we get there with a sign that says closed with the door unlocked.

We (three couples on motorcycles) stopped in this past Father's Day (6/16/24). We took advantage of their Father's Day special and all bought a pound of what we requested and thought was their smoked chedder cheese. We were all disappointed to find out when we got home that they gave us aged cheddar cheese. Delicious, but not what we asked for.

Famous for their signature cheese, Harmon's has lots of souvenir options. Must see for Sugar Hill NH.

Great little country store and amazing cheese! Highly recommend the 4-year aged cheddar if you’re there in March when they release each vintage.

I've never been to the actual store, so this review is based on ordering over the internet and email exchanges. Not sure if they actually make their own cheese, or just sell cheese from local producers. I ordered cheeses from them in Dec 2022, and the cheese didn't have any cooler packs, it was just in a carboard box, and I got food poisoning from the Taylor Brothers cheese. The other two cheeses were good, but not outstanding, and only lasted about two weeks in the fridge before going moldy. This year they cancelled my order because I asked for cooling packs to be with the cheeses during shipment, but the owner sent me a link stating it's not required to use cooling packs. So instead, this year I ordered from Plymouth Artisan Cheese which is in Plymouth, Vermont, just the next state over. My Dad took our family there many years ago. They make their own cheese, and ship it properly, and quickly, unlike Sugar Hill. The cheese arrived in 2-3 days, and had several cooling packs in the insulated bag along with the cheeses. That's the proper way to ship cheese, IMO. I suppose if you are in the area it would be interesting to check out the Sugar Hill store, but I wouldn't order cheese to be shipped from them to any states other than the northern New England states.

If you are in the area, this is a great place to stop for local (NH, VT, NY) cheeses (including Hartman's cheddar), honey, syrup, crackers, jam/jelly, baked goods, and souvenirs. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Ample parking around back.

I came here just for the cheese! And I am a happy girl! There were a few to try and they even had samples for you to try before buying. I ended up going home with a really aged cheddar cheese from New York and a garlic chive cheddar from Vermont. I got both of these because they would travel the best back home with me. Both of them traveled back home so well and made the most delicious cheese board!

I've been visiting Harmons for several years because I love their cheeses. I live in the south now so every trip to New England means a stop to buy Cheese.

Wonderful selection of locally made products and delicacies, as well as a variety of Harman's own cheeses which are available to sample. Being a specialty foods enthusiast, this was like heaven to me. There were so many choices I could hardly make up my mind. Definitely would stop here again next time I'm in the area.
