I've never been to the actual store, so this review is based on ordering over the internet and email exchanges. Not sure if they actually make their own cheese, or just sell cheese from local producers. I ordered cheeses from them in Dec 2022, and the cheese didn't have any cooler packs, it was just in a carboard box, and I got food poisoning from the Taylor Brothers cheese. The other two cheeses were good, but not outstanding, and only lasted about two weeks in the fridge before going moldy. This year they cancelled my order because I asked for cooling packs to be with the cheeses during shipment, but the owner sent me a link stating it's not required to use cooling packs. So instead, this year I ordered from Plymouth Artisan Cheese which is in Plymouth, Vermont, just the next state over. My Dad took our family there many years ago. They make their own cheese, and ship it properly, and quickly, unlike Sugar Hill. The cheese arrived in 2-3 days, and had several cooling packs in the insulated bag along with the cheeses. That's the proper way to ship cheese, IMO. I suppose if you are in the area it would be interesting to check out the Sugar Hill store, but I wouldn't order cheese to be shipped from them to any states other than the northern New England states.

If you are in the area, this is a great place to stop for local (NH, VT, NY) cheeses (including Hartman's cheddar), honey, syrup, crackers, jam/jelly, baked goods, and souvenirs. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Ample parking around back.

I came here just for the cheese! And I am a happy girl! There were a few to try and they even had samples for you to try before buying. I ended up going home with a really aged cheddar cheese from New York and a garlic chive cheddar from Vermont. I got both of these because they would travel the best back home with me. Both of them traveled back home so well and made the most delicious cheese board!

I've been visiting Harmons for several years because I love their cheeses. I live in the south now so every trip to New England means a stop to buy Cheese.

Wonderful selection of locally made products and delicacies, as well as a variety of Harman's own cheeses which are available to sample. Being a specialty foods enthusiast, this was like heaven to me. There were so many choices I could hardly make up my mind. Definitely would stop here again next time I'm in the area.

Much smaller than anticipated but; I was anticipating something like the Vermont Store of which it is definitely not. Quaint little place. The woman who greeted us was super friendly. Not much in the way of gifts but grabbed some cheese (aged cheddar as well as some smaller herb cheddars). Definitely worth a quick trip when staying nearby- we were in Lisbon- and support local farmers.

Such a cool spot with an old general store feel. Remember The Waltons TV show? This place is right from the show! Awesome cheeses and locally made baked goods. Definitely try the 4 year old aged cheddar!

I work at Lincoln sign company, Herman's cheese and county store has asked Lincoln sign company to refurbish their old sign. I had the pleasure of meeting with the owner incredibly nice, must visit if new to the area or just passing through. Their cheddar cheese is my opinion 5star A+

Great shop, cozy atmosphere, delicious smoked cheeses. A must-stop if you’re in the area and there is a great lupine field in the back as well ;)

Nice little find with great selection of cheeses, jams, dips, and gifts. The 2 women were friendly and chatted with us as we picked out some items we wanted. This was our second time at this store. The inside is small and full of history. Parking lot behind the building is free. This business is on the main road 117.

Very small country store that sells cheese, maple syrup, crafts and some other items. There's a small parking lot out back with a beautiful lupine and buttercup field. (In season). Friendly staff.

Harman's is a very tiny Country Store in the heart of the village of Sugar Hill. A small one-room family-owned store for many decades, the minute you walk in it feels like one of those places that time has just somehow passed by. It is worth stopping, if only for the experience of seeing what something like a one room store looked like over a 100 years ago. Though no longer owned by the original Harman family, it is still a place where are you can expect an old-fashioned, personal welcome from the staff. For years they have been most famous for their selection of cheese, in particular a sharp, well aged cheddar cheese. If this is something you like, then it is worth taking the time to go out of your way and see this little place. We have been stopping by Faithfully for decades whenever we happen to be in this part of the state. They also have a mail-order business as well, so it is easy to stay stocked up on their wonderful product. You will also find a mixed selection of locally made gifts, tee-shirts, boutique food items, and information on local events. There is plenty of parking immediately behind the store as well as on the street.

Mediocre cheese and poor customer service (very bad at returning order messages.)
We’ll stick w/ Wisconsin cheddars that are truly SHARP.
