The Welch-Dickey Trailhead offers a challenging yet rewarding hiking experience. The 4-mile loop trail features stunning views, with some steep rock slabs that require caution, especially in icy conditions. Microspikes are highly recommended. The trail is well-packed and can be hiked counter-clockwise for the best route. Parking is available at the trailhead, with a $5 fee, and restrooms are provided. While a popular destination, arriving early or on weekdays can avoid crowds. This hike is considered more advanced than moderate, so hikers should be prepared for the physical exertion required. Overall, the Welch-Dickey Trailhead provides an exceptional outdoor adventure with breathtaking scenery.
i had a great and challenging hike on the welch-dickey loop, however it would have been impossible without microspikes given the icy conditions. there were some sketchy ledges but never felt truly in danger. the views were just fantastic!! there was a bathroom at the trail head which i appreciated. be safe trying this hike!

Beautiful trail, more difficult than we anticipated but totally worth it. Would definitely recommend going counter clockwise.
