Tilton NH employees are rude and very unfriendly towards customers. I was barked at for moving an empty milk crate blocking an isle to get to chips while on my cane no less.Twice charged double and had to have credit card company remove charge because angry employee would not admit to not knowing how to do it. Used to be a nice store. NEVER going back.

Middle aged lady with crazy blonde hair was very rude. I’ve worked in customer service before and usually when someone comes up to get cashed out you say “hi” or “whenever your ready come up” but I got nothing she wasn’t even standing in front of the register so I wasn’t sure if she was ready or if she was training so I stood there just looking at her and waiting to be told to come up and eventually after standing up there for a little bit she said something and I responded with “I wasn’t sure if you were ready yet because I hadn’t got greeted.” She then proceeded to say In a very nasty tone “well the light is on..” I replied with “I saw the light on but wasn’t sure if I could come up or not because I wasn’t greeted.” She then told me “usually customers look at candy and then will just walk up” and I responded with “well I wasn’t looking at candy I was looking at you.” She then started to say something and I just stopped her and said “can you please just check me out because I just want to get out of here now.” In her nasty voice she said “yea I do to.” I did talk with the manager but this lady shouldn’t be in customer service if she’s going to be rude. Watch out for her. And I want to emphasize that the reason I didn’t just walk up to the counter was because I’ve experienced this in my days in customer service and sometimes your not ready for a customer and it makes it uncomfortable when you have to tell them your not ready yet to go back in line and wait so I was just being nice and not trying to be a pushy customer. I hope the manager actually talks to her and deals with it because I will not go back there if she is going to be rude.

Great store good prices on most things like household items and food milk bread eggs etc. hired prices on tobacco items . There's a self checkout & or cashier . the store has a lot to offer inside and out

I have purchased several Items here and had several packages shipped as this is a fed ex hub. I began shipping here due to fact I’m on a class 6 road which can be bad in winter weather. Being new to NH I do not quite have the hang of shipping to the different hubs from the various carriers. In any event I never expected an employee to throw a 22 lb bag of dog food at me landing on the front counter. In addition, she told me if I shipped UPS there again she was sending it back. I agree it was my mistake and I would be happy to apologize for the mistake. However, I believe the disrespectful way I was treated may not be the way dollar general wants to represent itself to the community especially someone new to it. I will not be shopping at this store again.

Understaffed and under cleaned. To no fault of the staff, mind you. The staff are doing what they can, but the management only has 1-2 people on duty at a time, meaning there's staff running to the registers to check out folks then running to isles to clean or stock, then back again. I pity the staff who have to put up with outdated equipment and no help. Only reason I give 3 stars instead of 2 is because the staff have been friendly and nice, despite their situations on shift.
