Consistently horrible customer service among the ever revolving cast of young employees. Staff that have been there for years are great, but every time a young person is hired expect to have to bag your own groceries and expect to not receive even a simple hello. Today's experience included not only not receiving a greeting, but the young woman's only interaction with me was "is that it?" before shoving my receipt into my hand. I guess on the bright side, at least she wasn't like some of the others that complain about being at work while they watch you bag your groceries. Some times it really is worth it just to drive the extra 30 minutes to go to a bigger store with better prices and customer service.

Really horrible managers . I have a military service animal.and was ambushed by the female Manger and male assistant manager.who told me to leave and they do not acknowledge service animals.of any kind.then stood over me yelling to hurry me up and leave while my service animal was reacting to my seizures.even kicked me in the side twice to hurry up.

Terrible customer service. Rude cashiers who don't even speak to you the entire transaction. No "Hello," "Thank you," nothing. High prices. I only shop here because it's close to where I live. Shaw's takes advantage of that by charging higher prices because there's no other grocery stores close, and they know it. It's time to start shopping in Claremont or Keene.

This grocery store is so offensively bad, it would be laughable if it weren't so frustrating. I stopped going here 10 years ago because of chronic understaffing of the checkout lanes. I went back recently and literally nothing has changed, except the interior of the store seems even more dirty and unkempt than it did a decade ago, and I'm really unsure as to how that's even possible. I waited for 30 minutes in two huge lines of equally frustrated people to pay for my small handful of low quality produce, while all of the other registers remained unmanned. The management at this place is so bad that I don't think it's an exaggeration to suggest that this might be the worst grocery store in New England, and very possibly the observable universe. If you have the option to shop anywhere, literally ANYWHERE else, do not come here.Edit: The expected regurgitation of corporate platitudes is hollow and insincere. I can only hope for the sake of the employees and the surrounding community that something will finally change, but a decade didn't do it, so I wouldn't anticipate it anytime soon.

I love Shaw's but the past few weeks Walpole is out of sale products on the first day. I'm thinking of going to the Peterborough Shaw's instead. They always have plenty.

We shop at shaws often and have had several complaints(items frequently out of stock etc.) but when we Went in on Christmas Eve it was the final straw. Pathways were blocked by oblivious store employees with pallet jacks and then when I went to look at the clearance stuff, which they put by the store room doors/lobsters another employee came to me and told me loudly and in a scolding manner, “ this isn’t a safe place to park your child” mind you I had my hands on the cart and was trying to browse the clearance. Why put stuff in a place where people can’t even browse it?!

Long checkout wait every single time! Milks always out.. meat went bad the next day after paying $ 18 for steak tips. Not the first time this has happened. Checking out at night the kids up front act so strange and childish they avoid cashing you out! Not impressed with all departments of this rundown understaffed store. Better off going anywhere else!

Cramped space that somehow always feels dirty. It's extremely difficult maneuvering around customers and restockers. Won't go here if I have time to drive to Keene or Brattleboro.Cashiers are almost always looking despondent and typically only speak to their coworkers. Today I was waiting to be told my total and all I got was a blank stare. Cashier never uttered a single syllable the entire transaction and I felt like I was begging for the receipt she was holding in her hand.We all have bad days. I get it, I worked in retail for many years. If I had treated customers like this it I wouldn't have had a job, yet this is my experience at least 75% of the time. Self checkouts are a blessing.

Standard chain supermarket. This store is generally clean and well staffed. They have a pretty good selection of meats and cheeses. If you're looking for something more specific it may be a gamble. Produce is well stocked and fresh. The only negative is that the prices are a bit higher than some other chain supermarkets.

Chain supermarket with reasonable prices. Nothing outstanding. They seem to struggle more with staffing than many places.
