At our company, we recently had the pleasure of planning a work event at the Mt. View Grand in Whitefield, NH, and it proved to be a truly delightful experience. The service at Mt. View Grand was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that guests felt comfortable and well-cared for.The event was held in the Crystal ballroom, which was nothing short of enchanting, making it an ideal setting for this special event. The food was great, the staff was terrific. We received a lot of positive feedback from our attendees regarding the location, the rooms and more.

It was hard to choose a star number for this place because there are so many good things here, but also we had multiple really bad experiences.Upon arrival, it is this majestic building placed right in the mountains with great views all around. There was lightly fallen snow surrounding us accenting the buildings indents. A scene right from a movie.Unfortunately, it all went down hill from the moment we walked in. I went to go check in, and they could not find my name under the reservation, my friend who had made it was a few hours behind me and it was under her name, so they would not let us in the rooms, but they took our bags and put it in the Harry Potter dusty dirty closet below the stairs. Then we had spa treatments scheduled for later that day, on a Friday, and it was a subpar treatment, but what was worse is it was FREEZING and I asked the person multiple times to make it warmer, but there was nothing she could do. I did not enjoy my treatment at all from the cold frigid air in the room. When I went to go check out, they charged me WEEKEND prices which I was not prepared for. Let me understand, Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday are all considered Weekend prices? SPECIFY THAT THEN! The treatment was 1 hour, in a cold room, with nothing special, and it came out to $275. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT $275!!! Biggest waste of my money. Then we ordered room service that night and the waitress who came to the door told us the 22% charge was just for the kitchen, and we had to tip on top of that. 2 burgers came out to $80. YES, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT AGAIN! $80 for only 2 subpar burgers- which were also inaccurately made as one was missing cheese and the other was missing bacon. The next day we got our bathing suits and went down to the hot tub, opened the lid for it and ... THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE HOT TUB! One of the main reasons we choose to stay here is we wanted to be in a hot tub while looking at the mountains outside, LIKE ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE !!! We spoke with the front desk and they said they are getting rid of it because it was too hard to maintain. Its a hot tub, if you cant maintain something as easy as that, then you shouldn't have a hotel. Then that night we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, the Harvest Tavern and that was a true NIGHTMARE!! The waiter messed up our order, let our water cups be empty most of the dinner, we ordered a second round of drinks which we NEVER got, and we had no silverware to eat our food so it got cold! A $300 dinner and it was HORRIBLE! After complaining to the waiter, who got the manager, who got someone else, they offered to take off our drinks, (That's it?), then when they came back with the checks they were WRONG. The waiter had added extra things and it was still near the same price! Finally, the manager just took care of the entire bill. But it ruined our entire evening. I would have rather paid $300 for a good time and a good meal, but instead it was just aggravating the entire time we were there. You covered our dinner, but you cant give us back the only dinner we had out that weekend- you ruined it!To make matters worse, upon check out Sunday morning, we received a bill slipped under our door with $400 extra in charges- WHAT?! We went down to the front desk and there was a line of people there with the same complaint- where did these charges come from? Apparently, they charge you resort fees and taxes upon check out, ON TOP OF WHAT YOU ALREADY PAID TO STAY THERE!For the amount of money you spend to stay here, this hotel is a complete mess, it is disorganized, rude, and a complete disappointment.DO NOT STAY HERE.

Stayed twice recently for work (they booked the room for me). The first stay, I was given my keys and room number and made my way up there, only to open the door and find out the room was already occupied. Went back down to the desk and was told they weren't sure how they mixed it up. Just checked out of my second stay today, and even though I specifically asked what my card was taken for and my employer called ahead of time to ensure all charges were paid for, they charged me for $152 in resort fees they neglected to collect from my work. Rooms are okay, but you need to sleep with the AC on or the windows open in the dead of winter to not have your room be 80 degrees. Nice views, but l cannot recommend staying here.

Visited the mountain view grand for my brother's wedding and it was an absolutely amazing experience with wonderful staff, beautiful views, and a beautiful hotel. It's a short ride from there to Littleton for various food options and shops and close by to the mountains as well. A great place to choose for a wedding or just a stay!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary and it was a wonderful stay. Cleanest place I've stayed in my life ....it felt like a home away from home. Service was top notch .... breakfast and dinner were spectacular. The hotel itself was stunning as well as the history of the hotel. I'm a big Eisenhower fan and he stayed at the hotel as well as Nixon, Reagan, Neil Armstrong, and Betty Davis. So much history here from the days of the wood mills and the vacationers from Boston and NY in its heyday when the train station made this the most popular destination in the USA. It's sad to see such a beautiful town so desilate now having this wonderful property and stunning mountain Vista views. More people need to know about the History of this hidden gem. It seems to be somewhat of a forgotten destination tucked away in the Northern part of the White Mountains NH. I highly recommend it. Great value as well....we took the mid week special including breakfast.

I have been here many times over the years but recent changes under new ownership have ruined this place. The unannounced pool closure and limited activities were disappointing. We brought friends who had never been before and it was quite embarrassing. The pool was closed for maintenance. The hot tub is permanently closed because of legionella contamination. Dinner service was horrendous. 45 minutes just for water, communication issues with the servers, cold food and incorrect drinks when was a bit astonishing. The disheartening atmosphere extended to the staff. No one seen happy with the changes. Additionally, the tubing hill posed safety concerns for my family with icy conditions and poorly placed poles, leading to accidents. My wife flipped over and injured her neck. They did remove some of the charges from our bill but it was not enough to make up for our poor experience. Won’t be staying here anymore.

Had some issues this time with service, spa reservation, and pool and hot tub closure. Should have been informed of potential exposure to illness.Rooms: Nice rooms. Just need small modifications to make them more comfortable.Walkability: Nice hiking available.Food & drinks: Food was good. The portions in the Wine Cellar were so small we laughed. For the prices they charged it is completely inappropriate. We would not choose to dine there again because of the disconnect.

The new look takes away from what it used to be not cozy anymore. Too much money for what you get ! Room was nice only complaint bathtub nothing to hold onto very slippery. Biggest complaint dinning room service was awful waited for 3 hours for dinner to be served before our party of Seven then food was overpriced and and awful didn't even eat my meal others left there's or took to room. Our server was never there to check on us, fill water glasses or to tell us where are meals were? Breakfast buffet was just ok nothing special other then service was good. Will not be going there again to stay has changed too much nothing special that I would get they I can get somewhere else and cheaper. Was there day after Xmas left next evening.Rooms: CleanNoteworthy details: News came out on TV and on line about hotel shutting down hot tub due to investigation of Legionase. My complaint no one from hotel notified my family or others on this while we stayed there day after Xmas hot tub still open after a Woman died in October and another person in hospital. They closed hot tub 2 days after Xmas after empty and inspection started which our still going on today January?

Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, it is an "ok" place to stay. The overall experience left quite a lot to be desired, it is clearly in the process of exchanging ownership so perhaps that explains the lack of service during our stay. Aside from the view, the stay there was really not good at all. I am going with 3 stars only due to the amenities like the Spa that thankfully was decent.Upon our arrival at the front door during a snow squall, no one greeted us, no valet service, no luggage assistance, and no staff in sight. In fact, it was a bit eerie how empty the place was for being so expansive. Once at the front desk I had to pry the teenager there with their name tag upside down off their phone in order to check in. The room was booked specifically for a "Mountain View" a premium charge in this instance, so while expecting a nice view I actually got a corner of the building and looked more at the wing of the resort than any mountains. A look though the items in the room revealed a buildup of mold in the Kurig, expired breakfast bars, and assorted mini bar. Once settled in to the room, went down to the bar where I sat for 30 minutes before any staff member appeared. After the bar, and on to dinner, menu knowledge was not the strong point of our waiting staff. In addition to that, we never got a single glass of water despite asking 5 times for some. So throughout dinner there was a lack of beverages in general as even the alcohol had to be outsourced to the bar and then our table. Even though there were not many people around, service was painfully slow. After dinner, back to the room and the room key was no longer working. In. addition to that I never was able to use the elevator to get to the spa, which is restricted to card only. All things considered, I recommend staying elsewhere. After explaining these issues to the manager they seemed to agree that this is the best they can do. Extremely overpriced and resembles a stay at a Motel 6.Stay Away.CRogers

We've been coming to this hotel for years, always enjoying fantastic experiences. However, our recent visit with friends was disheartening, as the establishment has undergone changes under new ownership. The unannounced closure of the pool due to planned maintenance, especially in winter with kids in tow, was disappointing. Although the resort fee was waived for the inconvenience, the limited available activities, including only visiting the farm and tubing (which was an extra charge), made us question its necessity to begin with.Dining experiences further added to our dissatisfaction. Breakfast was not great but acceptable, dinner was outright appalling. A 45-minute wait for water, incorrect drinks and cold appetizers when there was only one other party on the entire restaurant was astounding. The servers were very nice but seemed to struggle with communication. Hoping for a quicker meal, we retreated to our room to order entrées, but the service did not improve. The front kid desk was informed of our concerns, and it became evident that the staff was also affected by the recent changes, contributing to an unpleasant atmosphere overall. The perilous state of the tubing hill raised serious safety issues, as several guests experienced difficulties navigating the icy slope. The presence of poles along the sides only heightened the risk, causing people to flip out of their tubes unexpectedly. My son and I flipped on landed on our heads. The farm was wonderful but apparently the restaurant does not use the eggs they collect. Not very “farm to table” anymore. It's regrettable to witness such a decline in a place that once provided consistently positive experiences. We hope the management addresses these issues for the benefit of future guests. We will be staying at the Omni next time we are in the area.
