Very friendly staff, very clean with reasonable prices. They genuinely care. Been coming here for years and won’t go anywhere else.

We are so grateful to all of the vets and staff at Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital. They treat our little guy with such love and care and were quick to assist when I made a mistake with his meds. We appreciate all they do to keep our puppy healthy!

THIS IS A WARNING to anybody that brings their pet here I bring my cat in for an antibiotic shot and I carried him out dead another woman bring her cat in at the same time and also bring her cat out dead all my cat needed was an antibiotic shot he was completely healthy he could've came in on his own to not bring your pet here if you care for them and if anybody that was there would reach out to me and let me know what they did I would appreciate it if you're an animal lover and you care then you'll understandagain warning don't bring your pet here if you care for them. If your veterinarian suggest you to use this company, it’s time to find a new veterinarian. There was nothing wrong with my cat. He just needed an antibiotic shot. They held them for 2 1/2 hours and when they finally bring him into the examining room, the girl said “”he’ll be dead by the morning. I will be writing in a complaint on this company and if they think I’m gonna disappear they’re dreaming..

Front desk and waiting area are very welcoming. Techs are very kind and helpful. We had an appointment with Dr. Soucey for my 3 cats annual appointment. She was extremely kind, thorough and helpful. We have 1 cat who needed some special attention and can be a bit more difficult to handle - instead of getting frustrated, she was very understanding and talked soothingly. Not pushy at all, took her time with us and provided a variety of helpful tips for our cats special needs. Great vet! 10/10 for Dr. Soucey and all staff!!

Tuesday I took Sushi for his first vet appointment. I was unsure what to expect but the staff was very welcoming, the environment was calming and the care they took of both sushi and making sure all of my questions and concerns we answered as efficient and immediate. He had an allergic reaction to one of his vaccines and upon arrival we were taken right back he was assessed and treated for his reaction. Again they took the time to explain what they were doing and answer all concerns I had had.

I would like to start this by saying the rating is not a reflection on the doctors or staff, but the policies that they have in place. The staff and doctors I have always had pretty good interactions with. But I am very disappointed in 2 things in particular, and unfortunately I did end up leaving. The first thing was my dogs flea and tick prevention, most of them are over the counter and I can get at most stores, but because they are 3lb dogs I can only get vet prescriptions(which I get they are my dogs so my fault lol) but when I tried to refill the prescription I had to make a whole appointment to get it refilled. I could understand is it was pain meds or antibiotics, but it’s flea and tick prevention. The second this was my cat has anal gland issues, the doctor I was working with was nothing short of amazing and compassionate. I went to a few appointments and we went through her steps of treatment but unfortunately nothing was working. So she decided the next step would be to sedate her and do a procedure on her. She emailed an estimate and we discussed that I could not afford that price at that time, but if she gave me a little while I would save up for it (may 12th, $628) she was completely fine with that, we discussed a plan of action and all was good. Fast forward to sept 29th, I call to schedule an appointment and they tell me that the doctor had quit so I had to start the entire process over and someone would call me back. Oct 5th I called because I did not receive a call back and was told that because the old doctor left I had to start the process all over again with a new doctor, all the test and medications and cultures that we did 4 months prior no longer counted. I’m aware of the vet shortage and I understand that you all work tirelessly and I admire every person in a vet office, but I shouldn’t have to start all the way back over because she left. It has been under 6 months and all of the records show what we tried. They weren’t even willing to atleast wave the office visit to have me come in and pay for all of the same tests and cultures to be done again. Very sad to leave, but if I have to start over, I don’t feel comfortable doing it at the same place, what if that doctor leaves?

I called today to get a refill on my pets meds and the first woman I spoke to cut me off mid sentence 3 times while I was trying to spell my last name and my pets name. The next woman was rude when I said I needed to refill my pets prescription and needed to buy something else for them. I wasn't told by Dr Magnuson that there was a waiting period for the meds, just that I could call when we needed them. Apparently that's incorrect and the woman I spoke to was so rude and telling me my pet won't have meds for the whole weekend. They couldn't have cared less about my pet and acted like I was inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job. I hope their calls are recorded so they can be dealt with.

We've had a negative experience with this veterinary hospital more than once. Both of our parakeets have gone in with infections at different times and despite my extreme anxiety to handle the birds to administer medications to them (because they're not used to being handled), the anxiety we had and the stress on the birds wasn't considered with their treatment and we were still told the only way to give them meds was through syringe. We were never given the option to give them antibiotics through their water, which I didn't know was possible at the time. We were given no other choice but to catch the birds once a day for 14 days straight for medication. There was very little compassion or assistance offered from Canobie Lake Veterinary, especially after the first time, which was during covid. We weren't even allowed into the building to watch them administer the medication, so we felt very unprepared. I ended up hiring someone to come into my home for 2 weeks to help me give the medication and this ended up costing so much extra money. All of the stress could have easily been avoided. Most recently, I was convinced our older parakeet was dying, as he was at the bottom of the cage with his eyes closed. I had heard him fall from the cage but not climb up as normal, so I checked on him. I called the vet immediately because knowing he is an older bird, I wanted to do whatever I could to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. I covered his cage, put on soft music and did what I could. Without knowing much about the situation, the person who answered at CLV said I needed to bring him in right away. I told her that I just didn't want him to suffer. She insisted more than 3 times in that conversation that the bird was indeed suffering and that I needed to get him there as soon as possible. It was my children's last day of school and we canceled our plans to bring him, only to find out that not only was he not suffering, but he wasn't dying. We should have been offered the chance to speak with a technician who maybe could have better assessed the situation, before the desk person just assumed the bird was dying (I'm not a veterinarian)! Not only would I have saved hundreds of dollars, but it would have been a lot less stressful on the bird and on us. He ended up being totally fine and likely passed out after he fell from the perch. It was so sad that happened to him, but he was a while later and is fine months later. Other things happened as well that rubbed us the wrong way between these few visits, but it's not worth making a laundry list of everything that went wrong.I really feel this practice is only about money. I am taking the birds elsewhere for all future visits and unfortunately cannot recommend them.

Canobie Lake Vet has been so great with my pets. I have a cat and a bunny and they have taken great care of both of them. They go above and beyond to make sure they get answers that are needed to provide the best care for all pets. I highly recommend them to anyone who has pets.

Unfortunate that they were the only place that handles exotic pets because I truly believe my pet would still be alive. I brought my pet in who was clearly in distress, but they determined that it was better to address a different problem first that had nothing to do with his distress. I brought him in in the morning with difficulty breathing, 8am, and when I didn’t get an update by 2, I called and they still hadn’t looked at him. Finally I was able to pick him up at 6 (I was waiting in the parking lot since 5 when they finally called) so I went in and waited another hour. I got a bill for $800, mostly because of his time spent there even though the procedure only took them an hour. I take him home and he hadn’t improved at all, he couldn’t breathe because of an upper respiratory infection (I’ve dealt with it plenty before) but they ignored his need for the right medicine and did surgery on what they thought was causing the breathing difficulty. Mind you, they’ve treated previous pets years prior and treated the infection first and foremost. I believe they were out for as much money as possible. I brought him in the following morning after he struggled all night since he didn’t have the proper medication and opted to put him down and they tried to convince me to leave him there for the day so they can “monitor” him aka leave him unattended in a room all day and charge me for it. NEVER AGAIN. They wasted precious time with my poor baby. This place has gone down hill since they moved and I’m so ashamed that I ever brought my fur baby here.

Your clinic takes the stress out of a vet visit! From the 'zen-vibe' waiting area to the warm and welcoming front desk, techs, and vets, the overall experience here is very positive for both my pets and me. You've got a great thing going- looking forward to my next visit:-).

The veterinarians and staff are fantastic here. They are amazing with all of my dogs especially my really nervous one. I am moving and tried to use a different vet closer to my new home and ended up going back to Canobie Lake Vet. No comparison!!!

Love this vet. The care and quality of services they provide are so far superior to any other vet we have been to. The staff, technicians and veterinarians are all such high caliber professionals. We absolutely love this vet. We started seeing them one month into the pandemic and have loved them every visit since!

My chicken was very sick. There are not a lot of Poultry vets in the area and they were able to see her the same day I called. They communicated with me every day until bloodwork came back and we got the situation resolved within 2 days. Thank you so much for saving my little lady, she's doing wonderful now!
