***If you're a working person who needs access to the money you deposit in your checking account, please read this.*** This bank has flawed operational systems that should make you consider closing your accounts and banking elsewhere. Zero accountability and a cavalier attitude about mysteriously taking funds.A few mos. ago, I opened up a personal checking, savings and business account at the Wolfeboro, NH location. I have accounts at a few other banks and wanted to consolidate my day-to-day funds at this one location close to my home.On July 31st, my husband signed over a check to me. He was going out of town for a few weeks and gave it to me to deposit for convenience. It was a US Treasury check for a little over $5,000 in savings bonds that were given to him as a baby. His mom had kept them in a safe deposit box all this time and just gave them to him (he's 50!).Neither of us knew that you can't sign over a Treasury check, as we aren't in the habit of receiving a lot of Treasury checks. I went into this branch, and the teller accepted the signed over check, no questions asked. I was told the funds wouldn't be available for 8 days or so. No biggie. I left and didn't think about it because it's summer and I was on vacation.Yesterday, I went into the branch to deposit a check. I put my debit card into the reader at the counter and was surprised to learn it wasn't working. The teller acted surprised too. I received a slip for my deposit and was told my new funds would be on hold and that my $5k funds from the 7/31 deposit were still on hold -- 20 days after depositing them. I found that odd and said so. Now, the bank had $11,250 of my funds on hold.I became concerned. I started to wonder if there was fraud on my account and asked to speak with someone. The branch manager took me to speak with a gent in an office. They logged into the Citizens system, and told me they had no more information for me. It was all very mysterious.Meanwhile, I tried to log into online banking and learned my account had been taken over by Citizens. The user name for the acct was no longer my own and instead made reference to some fraudops entity. I was very concerned at this point.I threatened legal action and to expose the bank to my 100k social media followers. The branch manager and the gent helping me (both very professional and understanding BTW), filed an official complaint and said I'd be hearing from someone in 2 days.Someone from customer service called today. I was told they're waiting for someone from Treasury to tell them what to do with the 7/31 deposit. Allegedly, my $6,250 will be available for withdrawl tomorrow. I've hired an attorney, and I'll be closing 2 of my 3 accounts tomorrow. Here are my issues:1. Citizens' teller accepted an endorsed Treasury check she should have not accepted. That speaks to poor training and SOPs at the branch level.2. At no point did the bank communicate any of this to me in an appropriate way befitting of the year 2023. No texts, alerts or emails like a normal financial institution. I'm told a letter was sent via mail, and to date, I have not received that letter. Both my debit card and bank account were shut off on this account without any notice or explanation. This speaks to poor operational SOPs and lagging technology.3. Why is my $6,250 deposit from yesterday not available to me? And if the bank is concerned enough to shut off my debit card and account access, why would you accept my latest deposit at all? Oh, b/c you want access to my money without any accountability. This is not a trustworthy financial institution. The only thing I can recommend here is to close your accounts and go elsewhere. If you're an investor, short this stock. Lots of cracks in operations.

I have been with Citizens Bank Wolfeboro for over 20 years. They still have great customer service and the tellers are friendly and helpful. I agreethe new location is hard to park and small but the service makes up for it. I have formed lasting relationships and that means more to methan location.

Poor parking only one teller most of time and no drive up. Worst location ever they should have stayed at old location. I prefer Ossipee location but I am considering changing banks. I blame the good idea fairy at corporate. I can't stand it when a teller uses my first name instead of Mr. or Sir.

The worse bank in the country I am a rep payee for my brother in law issued him a check for spending money he went into a citizens bank in Manchester was charged 7 dollars to cash the check called customer service was told would not refund because I was responsible for the account he was the beneficiary of the account this is stealing from social security other back such as td bank do not charge for this service the only reason I used citizens is cause I have two other accounts with them and a credit card will be closing all the accounts on Monday the thing that's even worse is I ordered checks .
