Cashier Aisha is too busy on the phone and stuffing her wired headphone in her ear that she can’t attend customers. She completely ignored my request and solely focused on collecting my ID. I then had to repeated what I needed 4xs before she got what I wanted from behind the counter. I asked her to pay better attention and requested her name before leaving.

Been coming here for many years sometimes good sometimes bad but pay attention how they are trained to watch all your scans from the other side of the counter even at self check out, it creates a very awkward experience as I understand what they are doing and as soon as your done scanning and you insert the cash they walk away as it clearly indicates we don’t trust you. When you buy cigarettes it’s the same practice as they won’t even place the cigarettes on the counter until you hand the cash over and when you use a card they won’t hand them over until your password is accepted. If people are going to steal they will steal. you can’t do anything but document that and call police. The way the associates are trained puts them in a dangerous situation in my opinion. Wawa across the street doesn’t do anything like this at all. matter a fact, I don’t know any Avenel convenience stores that safeguards so stringently. They must not care about the message they are sending. I feel like a criminal every-time I come here. They don’t say hello or how are you they just watch you like a hawk

7/7 times I ordered the same sandwich. 7/7 times I input no tomatoes. 5/7 I still got tomatoes. Not saying it ruined my life, I’ll live. But it’s annoying

As a customer if I ask an employee to ring up my order I expect the minimal amount of customer service. Some people cannot do certain things because they came from the hospital or they are elderly. Instead it is more entertaining for the worker to stare at the customer struggling. Is it so hard to hand out a paper bag that can fit two sandwiches and chips? It has been years and they still can't figure out how to give a customer a paper bag. The gas attendant that I had was quick & had good manners. The area to get air for your tires is very crowded. I would suggest they have better security because of the lingering questionable people coming from the hotels nearby.

Can't ever seem to shop here without being harassed by drug addicts asking for money. Just now had 3 of them hanging out there.One of them claiming to be a homeless veteran, until i questioned him more.I pointed to the fire station across the street and told them that they could help him get to a homeless shelter then he said nah I money to get to one in Essex County.So now they wanna be picky? But he really wasn't homeless with his new sneakers and backpack and smoking cigarettes which are expensive he just wanted drug money. The employees never chased these people away or call the cops.Other than that the place is pretty clean big parking lot.

If I would chose the one on sampton avenue ( thats older ) to this one that's newer. I would choose the older oneFood is alright, but I feel they skimp on ingredients ( either saving money or no supply of items which happens more often at this location). Food is not fresh. Sometimes premade salad leaves look brown and disgusting.Staff are decent and do there job. Usually this place has a high employee turnover which is not a good sign. Prices for other stuff are decent/ MSRPThis location has a seating area, yet some of the time, looks like it has not been cleaned.
