I had a deeply disappointing experience at the liquor store next to Costco on the night of June 27, 2024. I went in with my parents to purchase some fine wine and liquor. Upon noticing a wine priced at $90 that I recalled seeing for around $60 elsewhere, I politely asked the male staff member to check the price. He arrogantly pointed at the price label without saying a word.
When I mentioned that I might have seen the wine for a lower price at Costco, the female staff member rudely replied, "We ain't Costco, they may have discounts we don't have," and rolled her eyes. While she was saying this, the male staff member kept shrugging and spreading his hands, showing clear impatience and annoyance. Both staff members were incredibly arrogant and unprofessional.
I'm Asian, and I couldn't help but feel that their behavior was racist. When I visit this store with my white friends, the staff's attitude is always courteous. This time, shopping with my parents, their behavior was starkly different and dismissive. It seems this is not an isolated incident, as I noticed similar complaints from other Asian customers in their Google reviews.
I used to shop at this store frequently because of their partnership with Costco, a brand I trust. However, after this experience, I will not spend another dime here. I was planning to purchase multiple fine liquors and wines but ended up buying only four bottles because my parents needed them as gifts for their travels the next day. If I had more time, I wouldn't have spent anything at this store. I WILL NOT be returning to this store or any other BBB liquor stores in the future.
I hope the store manager or owner addresses this issue. The two staff members working the night shift around 8 PM on June 27, 2024, need to be held accountable for their racist behavior and poor customer service. I also hope Costco to reconsider their partnership with this store.

Bunch of fake toughguys in here that do not say excuse me with their big pallet jacks hitting into customers. If I owned this place I would drain the swamp before they catch lawsuits and the customers stop coming.

We buy liquors from this store a lot of times. But the customer service is really poor. I was asking a question to one person and he literally ignored me. When I’m going to make a payment, he seems really unhappy. I do not enjoy the shopping here at all.

They sold me an already opened bottle of liquor, which I didn’t notice until I got home because they didn’t allowing opening of boxes inside to check. I went back for an exchange and they wouldn’t give me a new bottle. They were also rude and dismissive to me, so I am very displeased with the service.

The staff is always extremely nice and helpful when I’m in the store. Small selection but they have all the necessary items you’ll need at great prices. They carry a couple local craft beers usually and have a few options of variety packs from larger craft breweries. Picked up 902 Brewery beer today.

They are selling fake alcohol. I’ve purchased same whiskey from many different stores in many states. Never tasted it like acetone and plastic like this one from BBB store. Looks like it’s not authentic and can be dangerous. Store ignored my complain and refused make a return. They don’t even care what I said. Contacted manufacturer and ask for expertise. Not recommend this store.

This is my favorite liquor store in the Bayonne area. Fair prices, better than other liquor stores in the area, friendly staff and good variety. It's right next to Costco but you don't need a Costco membership (it's an independent business). I stopped by today and paid $27 for a 24 pack can of Modelos. Other places in the area sell the same thing for at least 31 bucks.
