Can’t say enough great things about sandy alvacado surf! All the coaches make it a fun positive experience. Both my girls ages 7 and 9 had a blast and they can’t wait to go back in the summer! Definitely a 10/10 ⭐️

Absolutely thrilled to share our journey with Sandy Avocado Surf Camp! From the very beginning, when both Gavin and Layla first joined the classic day camp, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Watching Gavin evolve from a camper to working on the beach has been incredible, and Layla has blossomed into one of the “island girls” in the immersive camp, bravely facing and conquering her fears of the ocean along the way.
Julia and Avery have been there from the start, with their inspiring energy and mentorship, helping my kids not only grow as surfers but as individuals. Now, as the stellar owners of SASC, they continue to set the bar high. We’re already counting down the days till next summer — stoked for another season of waves, growth, and unforgettable memories! 🥑🛹 💫

Sandy Avocado is truly the best surf camp on LBI! The instructors make learning to surf fun and approachable, no matter your skill level. The atmosphere is inspiring – you can feel the passion they have for surfing and for teaching others. The camp is well-organized, with a great mix of safety, technique, and fun. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to catch some waves and make great memories!

Our 9 year old had an awesome time at Sandy Avocado learning to skim with Ralph and crew. We only come down to this shore point for one week every year and this really filled the gap for something fun to do to keep our girl occupied and gave some structure for the week. 10/10 would recommend, everyone was very friendly and inclusive.

The crew at Sandy Avocado is beyond awesome! This was such an amazing experience for my daughter. They personalize the experience for the kids and go out of their way to make everyone feel confident despite their skill level. My daughter cannot wait to get back out with the crew again! It was nothing but good energy and vibes!

This review is for Avery, the surf instructor my 11 year old son had this week. Avery was absolutely wonderful!! She was so pleasant and gentle with our son, who was extremely timid about the lesson. It was easy to see she works well with children and as soon as I met her, I could tell she would be a great teacher! Thank you Avery, for working with us. Your flexibility, kindness, and understanding went a long way for a little nervous newcomer. I would recommend her HIGHLY! I hope others will ask specifically for her as an instructor!! Avery, I hope to see you again next year!!

My boys took private skate lessons from Avery. They had a blast and learned a ton. She did a great job of scaffolding the skills, providing constructive feedback in a positive way, and building their confidence while reminding them of the importance foundational skills. They are eager to get their own boards and working on what they learned. Both boys asked to take lessons again next year when we visit LBI again and bragged about the amazing experience to their grandparents when we got home. Communication with Sandy Avocado Surf was spectacular during every step of the way. I had several questions (before we signed up for the lesson and a few days before the lessons) since we aren't from LBI. They did a great job of getting back to me right away. I was incredibly impressed. I highly recommend Sandy Avocado Surf and Avery. We plan on coming back for future lessons!

My daughter had an amazing time!!!! She learned so much and had so much fun!!! Instructors are awesome!!! Such a unique camp and exactly what the island needs!!! Hope they do a lot more of these. We will be signing up again!!!

Steff organized multiple women's meetups, including a Women's Weekend that provided morning coffee, yoga, and camaraderie among local female surfers (from beginner and beyond). Every woman that I've met through these meet ups has been beyond supportive in and out of the water. So thankful for her guidance and for this incredible community that she is developing!
