“If you want me to snap, mention a chain drug store and I'm likely to go postal remembering all those front-line encounters (mostly at CVS) with deranged gatekeepers who whipsawed me between lines and could never could quite help me navigate their idiotic, Rube Goldberg notions of customer service and crowd control.I recently had quite a different experience at Walgreens where I happened to stop in for a flu shot with no appointment. It wasn't particularly busy but the encounter was crisp with paperwork exchanged and the jab administered in less than ten minutes - and, wonder of wonders - no upsell for COVID, Shingles, pneumonia, toe fungus or the heartbreak of psoriasis. I'll save those medical ministrations for my next Bachelor weekend.Thanks Walgreens. Five stars for not being CVS.”

“There two (at least) of these check cashing centers - one in Phillipsburg, one in Somerville. Both are excellent. They make it easy to cash checks and pay monthly bills. The one in Phillipsburg offers tax return services. At one time I think they were the same owner - not sure now. Both are the best of the check cashing business. To protect you, they only cash checks as permitted within the law, so don't get mad if they refuse you. I got a check from a major hospital via a major bank but could only cash it if it was deposited into my account, so I didn't get mad - just deposited it as required. No biggie.”
