They are unscrupulous CROOKS. They give one price on the phone and then try to bait and switch when they hook up to the vehicle. They tell you that they have to get the vehicle on the truck to be able to see a catalytic converter, which is bullshit. They also said that after market catalytic converters dont have precious metals, another lie, to try to steal 120 dollars from the quote. Completely liars and hacks. Stay far away. They are crooks. They also wear police shirts and have police stickers on clipboards but I verified with Newark police and the tow driver is not working for them. Scam artists in every way. Complete hacks and dishonest. He said he was calling the police on me. Then in Spanish said he can handle me, no problem. He didn't thing a gringo speaks Spanish. I called him out on his lies and he said it would cost 175 to drop my car or I could take the 120 loss. So I called the cops. They came and kicked him to the curb. That guy is completely dishonest. Dont deal with him. He steals car owners money and likely doesnt give the purchasing company the truth about the new purchase price he discounted. HUGE CROOKS.

This place is trash, I had called them to come pick up my car they offered 270 for the car then when the rude a** Driver came he allegedly say the catalic converter is not original therefore the price drop from $270 to $150 then I bought a mechanic to see the parts. The mechanic confirm the part is original, then the truck driver insist if I don't take the $150 I will have to pay $100 to put the car down then traiting me and my brother with a weapon stating he work for Newark police. I am heading BBB right now to report these scam artist.

I had an abs issue taken care of on my car for about 380$. Two days later the light came back on. I took the car back to the owner Paul and he said to come back in an hour and it will all be taken care of. I came back and got hit with an additional 800$ bill that was sopposed to be covered under warranty. Though it was unfair, I had no choice but to pay because I needed the car to get to work, and they refused to release it to me until the 2nd bill was paid. It should have been a legal issue. Three days later the light came back on. They're scammers and their work is horrible. I ended up getting it fixed at a different shop because I couldn't deal with Paul for a 3rd time.

I called AAA to have my car towed to the mechanic and they sent Five Star, specifically a fat older gentleman with a heavy accent, upon arriving he was extremely rude and snarky and made the assumption I left a light on in may car and my battery needed to be jumped. Now, dealing with my dying car since the day before and having previous battery/alternator problems in other cars - I had a good feeling it was not my battery. All the electric was working in my car, windows went up and down fine all the lights and door locks worked. Five Star's tow guy refused to believe what I was telling and continued to jump start my battery - in his words "I've been doing this forever I think I know what I'm talking about". As instructed by the tow truck guy, I let the battery run in my driveway for 1hr before going to work and when I went to drive home the car didn't start and I had to call AAA for a second tow. Ironically the 2nd tow company knew of the 1st tow company and said that the guy Five Star sent was at the end of shift and was most likely being lazy and did not want to late time to tow the car! Currently - my car is at the mechanic with a battery that is so dead that I had to pay to get a new one to test the alternator!

I had an abs issue fixed here for about $380. two days later the light is back on. Paul, the owner takes a look at it and says he knows what went wrong, pick it up in an hour. An hour later I get hit with an additional $800 bill. I said that's crazy I already paid and it was to be covered under warranty on my first bill. The said they will keep my car until the 2nd bill is paid in full so I figured id pay and fight it in court later. A few days later the light came back on. I was so fed up with them I just decided to take care of it elsewhere, and it was an easy fix. They're scammers!

If I could rate this a zero star I would.
This place sucks big time, I don't know how they are still in business. The owner is a fat rude slob mobster type. Very rude!! Stay away. I was towed from a private lot 1/2 mile away from the location and was charged $400!!!! On top of that they charged me $75 to tow it back to the same location where it was towed from originally.
I never wish any hateful things on anyone, but godbless the owner. Justice will be served in his heaven.

We had a great experience with the young man that came out to change a tire (via AAA). Couldn't have been nicer, more efficient and helpful overall. A nice surprise at 2am when none of us wanted to be out w a flat!

Service does NOT match this towing company's name "five star towing " this company had me waiting for 3 hours and a half when I was told it would take 90 minutes and when I call to find out what had happened why no one showed up and why no one's called they told me that they were covering another county .. no courtesy call nothing and when I asked when I could expect the towing company they cannot give me an answer... you call this a " five star towing"g I don't think so

Extremely Awful~!!!! They towed away my car for private property, For god's sake, I live here and that's my parking place and I have my parking permit there~~ They even threatened me to go and pay the money. OMG, I cannot be more angry, I should definitely call the police for help~~!!
