Went there about 3 weeks ago, asked Sal for a an oil change and also if he can overall spot anything outta of the norm. His mechanic spotted some things, apart from that they put synthetic oil, changed my back wiper blade and an air filter, Total 300.00. Then when I saw the oil it was some dollar general oil. Stay away from this shop it sucks.

At one time this was the best, most reliable, honest car repair business in the area. Mike was honest and fair and super knowledgeable.
Mike is no longer running things and the place has really changed. I am no longer a customer after being a customer for over 15 years. It was quite a disappointment to learn Mike was no longer involved in the day-to-day business. Unfortunately I learned this after I had taken my car in and got a bill that was astronomical. When I questioned the work that was done and the prices that were charged, Sal was not happy.
I no longer bring my vehicles to Central Bergen because I don't like services being added on,like changing windshield wipers and air filters, just to add money to the bill when those repairs were not requested or needed. I am fully capable of putting on a pair of windshield wipers without having you charge me an arm and a leg to do it. It wouldn't have been so bad if the things that we had requested were done, but that was not the case.
We really miss Mike. He was honest and forthright.
Sal just wants to make money and he gets rude and abusive when you try and call him on it. I was absolutely less than impressed and will never go back.

I brought my car in for what I thought was a major issue, and Sal took the time to walk me through exactly what was going on, no upselling, no nonsense. He diagnosed the real problem quickly, gave me a fair estimate, and had the repair done faster than I expected. You can tell he runs his shop with integrity. It’s rare to find a mechanic who’s this honest and efficient. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Central Bergen Auto to friends and family.

Sal is a great mechanic and guy, he was able to quickly diagnose any problems I had on my civic si and come to a solution within minutes. Always approachable and willing to go above and beyond for me and my automotive needs

Took my Volvo here for a tune up instead of taking it to a dealer. Sal was extremely professional and did the work at half the price the dealer wanted to charge me. He was very honest and did a great job on my car. I would highly recommend Sal & his entire staff

Sal at central bergen is a stand up guy who is honest and you feel comfortable referring your friends and family. They always are busy do to this I feel and they make time to get you taken care of. My Personal opinion is that it is very hard to find an honest mechanic or shop that isn’t trying to always rip you off one way or another. At Central Bergen they are more on building a relationship than trying to rip you off which is why I only deal with them. Also, I like that they deal with all types of vehicles and have the means to work on anything with highly qualified mechanics as my cars BMW and Mercedes Benz was fixed as if it came from the dealer ship so new cars, older cars and all in between will be in good hands…

Had major overheating problem on my older Subaru Outback. Sal was great to talk with on the diagnosis and the actual repair work. When I showed final invoice to a mechanic friend - we both agreed work was right on target with not an extra part or labor charge on the bill. Highly recommend Sal and his team - professional and awesome mechanics…car running great now! (fyi: have been going to Central Bergen for years with Dad’s, Uncle’s and my cars)

Friendly car techs, honest evaluation/troubleshooting of car problems. A bit expensive on the billing but these days, what isn't? Sal's The Man!

The go-to mechanics for tough car problems that other mechanics simply can't or won't touch and/or or you don't want to go to your dealer, and get ripped off in labor charges for the similar job. I highly recommend Sal, and Mike, and their team of mechanics for all your automotive repair needs.

Sal is great. I've been taking my Mercedes old 2016 and new 2020 to him for about 8 years now. I don't remember how I found him and been happy since. He's good! Good prices and always take care of me.
