Here's to our Bergenfield post office!!! Since I moved to town this post office has been delivering everyone's mail to my address. I've stacked up the mail and wrote "return to sender, tenant has moved" or "tenant unknown" on the envelopes and retuned the mail to the post office. The staff at the post office said to "THROW IT OUT"!!! Isn't it a federal crime to destroy other people's mail!!??P.S. The Tenafly post is so much better and friendlier, oh and they are open until 7pm!

I never expect much from the Postal Service, but this one in Bergenfield is the WORST post office I have ever dealt with. And that's saying a lot since they're all pretty bad. They are government workers so I've come to expect I will get horrible service. Two months ago, we had to suspend mail at our home because our steps leading to the mailbox were uneven. We paid for a PO Box at this Bergenfield office. It was $159 for 3 months. We were told at that time by the supervisor that all our mail would be forwarded to this PO Box until we let them know our steps are fixed. They told us it'll take 10-14 business days for the forwarding to take effect. Sure, no problem! We have no problem waiting that amount of time.Since we bought the PO Box, many of our items have been sent back to the senders. Last week, someone we buy from frequently on Ebay sent us a pic showing this post office first wrote the number of our PO Box, indicating it's to be left there. Then they crossed it out and wrote "return to sender". He even told us this is really weird and he never saw anything like that before.Fast forward to today. My husband goes in to pick up our mail and there's no mail at all in the box! We haven't went there in 2 weeks so there should be at least some mail in there, right? I was already on the phone with him since we were talking about something unrelated to the post office, so I could clearly hear everything that transpired. My husband went up to the only worker there, some older woman who claims her name is Natasha, and asked her about our mail. She told us that it takes 10-14 business days, he explained to her that it's been way past that time, he also told her that I'm waiting for my RN license, which is really important. She told my husband that there should be another way for me to get my license (?!?!) At that point, he asked to speak to their supervisor in hopes of getting our mail. Natasha said the supervisor is on break and has no idea when the boss is coming back. That doesn't seem truthful, how do you not know when your supervisor is coming back from lunch? Natasha also said the supervisor cannot help us and we're pretty much SOL. My husband was relaying to me over the phone what was happening, Natasha then said that he's not talking to anyone over the phone! She said he was just talking to himself, which doesn't make any sense for her to say. He put me on speaker, I said "look, we're not trying to argue with you, we just want our mail, please just do your job or direct us to who can assist". She then said to my husband "send your wife in here, I'll be waiting for her". Wow. We didn't respond to that because we aren't the type to argue, we just wanted our issue resolved. Find our mail! After about 30 minutes of him waiting there (with me on the phone), Natasha paged the supervisor (Phyliss) to come up front, but she refused to come up and speak to my husband. Natasha went back to work, whenever my husband would talk to me, she would jump in and say how rude he's being to her and interrupting her. But he's on the phone with me and not talking to her. He then asked for a main number where he can file a complaint, she flat out refused to provide any info. After waiting for another 45 minutes for Phyliss to come out and speak to him (she was hiding in the back), he finally left. We decided we're just going to file a complaint. How can they lose 2 weeks worth of mail and not even want to try to rectify it? We just want our mail. I need my RN license or I can't work. What is wrong with people's attitudes? Just do your job, you chose this line of work. They feel because they're government workers that they don't have to help or care about the customers. But our taxes pay them. They are public servants.If/when you need to file a complaint about this Bergenfield office (or any post office), you can call the USPS district consumer affairs office or go file a complaint with the USP

Some of the staff is polite. But, my issue with this USPS is that they keep forwarding my mail to a relative's address when I never requested a change of address.Last time some important packages got reforwarded I went and asked the staff how to solve this, they said they would put a note. I asked if I could do something to avoid this in the future, they said it wasn’t necessary.Yet some of my mail is still being delivered elsewhere. Once again, an important (& time-sensitive) package that I was expecting today got forwarded. Please ask the employees to pay attention or give me a fixed solution.

Absolutely horrible. The supervisor didn't want to help me solve my mail issue. Her answer was "I'll speak to your delivery guy" what the hell is that gonna do? I want to know WHY my mail is being returned to sender all the sudden when I've lived in this house for 15+ years. So I opened a case with the Office of Inspector General as well, but not that anything will be done cause the USPS sucks!

Horrible place to work! Postmaster Amanda is rude, arrogant, and I believe to be a racist. DO NOT WORK HERE! QUIT IF YOU DO! I’ve seen people come and go during my time here and majority of the issues and situations arises here are due to the postmaster being an incompetent disgrace of a human entity. If I can give this place negative stars I definitely would. Avoid this place at all cost. If this post is removed we know why.

Can I give negative stars? Why do packages say delivered but aren’t? Also, why are the staff inside always so rude? Like going back to the 90’s. Ok there is one nice lady but the rest are just miserable human beings. I’ve had so many issues with this post office including items being stolen out of packages. I refuse to even step foot into this location anymore so I head over to Dumont. I wish my mail could be tunneled through Dumont instead of ever going to Bergenfield. The funny thing is the delivery people have always been rather nice and friendly.

G-H-E-T-T-O. You are better off just driving to the next town if you have any business that needs to come out of this post office. The heavyset clerk is extremely rude and I can't understand why because he literally sits in the same spot and does not move and when you ask him something that requires him to move you are met with a very nasty demeanor. I had a friend send me a package in the system and it said that they had attempted to deliver the package and I needed to schedule a re-delivery. I scheduled it to be picked up from the facility because I had put a hold request with them back in December and still have yet to receive a piece of mail from that request we are now in March. Even that day when I went for my other mail the same heavy set clerk in the same position was being rude to a Hispanic woman because he wasn't bilingual and couldn't advise her to swipe her card. I emailed what I think was the postmaster but whoever that unprofessional person is behind the emails couldn't possibly be a supervisor because they're going back-and-forth with me blaming me for what their employees told me and completely negating the fact that their employee was unprofessional did not listen and I had to escalate a pretty simple issue to customer service to get a concrete answer. The gentleman in the Bergenfield location would not stop talking or listen to anything other than the sound of his voice. Read it as stated in the other reviews for at least seven years, this clerk hasn't moved out of that seat so I just find it hard to believe that when Phyllis who's name is at the bottom of these emails , wrote me back she didn't know who I'm talking about the man is been sitting in the same spot doing nothing for seven years!!! Now I've been advised to only deal with Titerboro because that's the regional post office so I will be escalating my issue because I cannot believe that such an unprofessional person is supervising this location and that unprofessional employees have been allowed to engage with customers in the manner that they've been doing. I know I'm not the first and I am 100% sure I will not be the last.

Been in this town 23 years and they are often rude. Twice I spent a lot of money to have photo cards sent to friends and family, and they lost them. The first time they were all 20 photo cards, lost. Not one person received them. I literally had a friendly talk with her, purchased the correct stamps, stepped to the side put them all on the envelopes and went back to the lady and gave them to her. What happened after that is anyone's guess. The second time only people from outside of Bergenfield received them. So apparently they are chucking them in the garbage because there is too much mail during Christmas time. They just don't want to work that hard.
