Chet is the Best!
I grew up in a household of mechanics, we always had hotrods and classics.
When I finally found Chet, I felt like I was dealing with the real McCoy. New car or old. This place can handle it.
And their staff is great to work with.

I only discovered this wonderful place this past year. Chet was able to detect why the check engine lights were coming on when I had other places try but not fix it. He even explained how he fixed it. They go above and beyond. Their prices are fair and the whole place has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Five stars are not enough!

A few months back I got tires rotated from Chet's. Later when I went to another shop to get new tires I was told that a stud on one of the tires has been tightened so much that it needs to be broken for the new tire to be installed. When I took the car back to Chet's to put a new stud in place of the one which needed to be broken, he charged me $132. On top of that he refused to take any responsibility for the improperly installed original stud and instead tried to blame it on the well reputed tire shop.

Outstanding service. Chet and his team are hands down the best mechanics within 25 miles.
Very honest people. If you've been taken advantage of my mechanics before, (like I have) you will not experience that here.
Excellent diagnostic skills - if you have a weird issue you can't solve anywhere else, take it to Chet!

Chet's Berkeley Auto provides excellent customer service and I highly recommend them! I worked with Chet, Vinny and Alex on my Mustang oil change and inspection, which they were kind and flexible enough to take my car right away and accommodate my schedule. Very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. They're a staple in the community and I look forward to working with them for many years to come! Thanks so much!

Called the place up a week before for a car inspection, they said to come at 9am. I arrive the day of at the 9am, greet two people standing by the garage who don’t greet me back and continue their conversation. Once I’m arms length the man acknowledges me and says the person doing the inspection is running late, callback in an hour. I ask him to call me instead which he agrees. 11am rolls by and I call them back, no word on the arrival of the inspector, apparently caught in traffic and offers to call me back later. Still no call by the end of the day or end of the week. Unprofessional but whatever. I call Gelormini's in the next town over, Betsy was wonderful, prompt and courteous. Got me scheduled and followed up to let me know when my car was ready. Night and day experience, wouldn’t recommend Berkeley Auto Services to anyone.

Highly recommend Berkeley Auto Services! Today I took my car to have the tire sensor replaced. They checked it and told me that the sensor and battery were fine. It was only because I didn't inflate the tires enough. They inflated all the tires and didn't charge me a penny. The dealer's estimate price was 1,300$, but Berkeley Auto Services’s estimate price was only about 500$. At the end I didn’t spend any money. They are so nice! He said: You don’t need to spend unnecessary money! Last time, I saw some unknown liquid on the ground under the car. I went to their place. They took a look and said there was no problem and they didn't charge any fee! A big thumbs up! We go there to replace the battery and oil of our car, and the price is indeed very reasonable! Five-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Regarding Elise Sanchez's COMMENT BELOW, the repair's she was referring to were, she needed tires the 1st time, the tires that we got were the wrong size (that the company heard the tire size wrong when we ordered them) so, we had to re-order the correct size and it ended up being a little more per tire. She Fought us for a few extra dollars per tire and, We ended up giving her the price of the quote of the first tire because we are a family business and CHET ALWAYS HONORS WHAT HE SAYS. The SECOND repair she is referring to was, her daughters car was TOWED in and asked us to do the repair and figure out what was wrong. We quoted her the price and they OK it. The parts place ended up sending the wrong part, and we can not help that. We called to get the correct part which was 100 dollars more. She called NUMEROUS times to see if the car was ready. (it was there for a day and a half and she desperately needed her car back.) We made sure the car was done as quick as possible. When she came to pick up the car, Elise and her daughter were yelling at the secretary and the owner that we should have told them that the part was wrong and it ended up being a little more. Elise and her daughter than started saying we should have called them to give them a chance to order the part themselves so it would be cheaper (which half the time customers order the wrong part and it ends up being more costly to the customer.) I advised them that this was the only way the car was leaving the shop running since it was TOWED IN and not running at all. I actually told them if they had a problem with the price we would take the part out and put the old part back in and they could go somewhere else and they DECLINED. They said they would not be coming back to the shop anymore but, that was after we had already told them not to come back ourselves. Thank you KAREN, for this great review, if you knew the hoops we jumped through for our customers when you were calling 10 times per day to see if it was ready and we made sure we got yours done first. Any other shop you went to, would have been MORE MONEY, or, if you got the part yourself there would have been no warranty on it. Ours parts always have a 1 year warranty, and we EAT the labor. This is a family business and if you feel the need to BASH US with a comment like that, i hope the next shop you go to takes advantage of you because, we never did that to you or any of our customers. P.S you did not even get the "SCAN CHARGE" that should have been $135 dollars on it's own (which every other shop would have charged you). Not to mention, you have only been to our shop a few times and every time you car was fixed and there was PROBLEM with only you. Clearly you are the problem and that's why we threw you out. WATCH OUT OTHER AUTO SHOPS FOR ELISE SANCHEZ!! P.S.S GUESS WE DID FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE NOT ONCE DID YOU MENTION THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING CORRECTLY.
Sincerely, Berkeley Auto.

Thought I'd found a reliable repair shop in town, but just picked up my car to find extra $100 charge on bill. This is not the first time Chet has quoted me a price, but because "the wrong part was sent" (it's never his fault) the price is double or more, than the actual part needed. Last time the parts guy sent the wrong tires, this time a sensor -because "THEY didn't ask for exact car model." Instead of owning the fact that HE should give specifics about the car model when ordering, & calling me with the updated price, Chet forges ahead with the repair & blames me for questioning the bill & the parts people for not guessing what he needs. I've chalked these mistakes up to poor communications in past years but the lack of accountability for repeated bumbling is unacceptable for someone entrusted with the care of my cars.
