As a working drummer this store is convenient.. However, I bought 2 pair of pro mark sticks which came to $40.41. They overprice their gear, on pro mark website, sweetwater, and even guitar center or Sam ash they average around 12-14 dollars a pair. Convenient for me at times but I was robbed. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I never was an instrument person. I mean I played piano as a kid sure, but nothing seriously. I was gifted a guitar and needed to get the strings tuned. So I headed over to Old Towne Music. The shop has a large selection of guitars mainly but some other stuff like drums. The guy at the counter was fairly helpful in explaining what needed to be fixed. I asked a few basic questions about what to know, how to play, etc. which he answered plainly. He took down my information and I was able to drop my guitar off. He said it would be fixed by next week. I got a call and was able to pay for it and pick it up. He cleaned it up also which I appreciated. I grabbed some picks and went about my day. Now I'm doing some research on the basics but it all came out to be around 65 dollars to change strings, tune it up plus labor. I would recommend if you're needing to fix up an instrument, the staff is knowledgeable and able to answer most of your questions.

I agree with the other reviewers assessment of the low quality of instruments. Everything was a "Stagg" or something or other. I think the highest brand that was in here was a Yamaha, and there were maybe 2-3 of those in the whole place. Nice LOOKING stuff, but certainly more geared toward the beginning musician, or someone on a tight budget. We went to check out the kids music class, and found the setting to be quite chaotic and extremely cramped. The teacher seemed nice, if not a little unhappy to have to be working with 3 year olds, and the man at the counter was very pleasant. I definitely don't see a reason why I would be back here to buy anything, and wouldn't consider lessons for my kid until she was much older.

My 5 year old daughter has been taking private piano lessons here for about a month now. I called to request pricing and ended up signing her up. They were able to get us in almost immediately. Her teacher, Maddie, is fantastic with her and has already talked about possibly having her perform in the recital. I can’t say enough positive things about this place. We love it. Can’t wait to see how well my daughter gets in weeks to come!

Fantastic customer service. Always a nice person behind the desk willing to answer questions or help with an issue you're having. The selection of guitars is great, ranging from beginner budget guitars to higher-end pieces. On multiple occasions I've gotten upwards of 10% off on a large purchase. The lessons are also fantastic, my personal understanding of not only my instrument but my way of learning music was partially shaped by the kind people at Old Towne Music.I'd highly reccomend supporting Old Towne Music.

10-11 years ago my son was in Music Fun Time. He learned so much and always seems to make his way back to music. For four years he played clarinet. Now he’s getting into guitar. His HS lets him borrow an acoustic, and in just a bit of time he’s already picked up quite a lot. He’s always had an appreciation for all genres and that is most likely because of his early exposure to music. Today I bought him an electric guitar for a surprise Christmas gift at the Turnersville location. Bill and Toni were great! Bill was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a great guitar within my budget. Made me miss the days when my son was little and we’d rush back to the store to do lessons with Miss Debbie! Always loved the staff there! Probably the best Black Friday experience you could ever hope for ? Bill told me many of the younger students make their way back to expanding their musical abilities, or giving lessons to new incoming students! Music is the best gift you can give your child, and Music Fun Time at Old Towne Music is a great place start! ?

I called random music stores in the area to get appraisal on an instrument I was selling and lo and behold the guy at the counter was someone I worked with at Music & Arts like 15 years ago...

I walked in last week to ask about violins for someone, John, the dad I believe(I found out later there were multiple Johns) was just as nice an friendly as me going over to a neighbors house. The issue I was having they couldn't do there but referred me to the perfect place to do it. We had genuine conversation and I even learned a few things. Thanks John!

I'm a retired 72 year old man who, at this stage of my life, decided I'd like to learn how to play the piano. I went to OTM and signed up and was very fortunate to be assigned to Brian. What good fortune. As one can imagine a 73 year old with no prior musical lessons taking up piano. Most people would tell me your put of your mind. And most would be correct. However, Brian is and was remarkable in his abilities to teach and help me understand what I needed to do to achieve my goal. Brian has been so supportive and encouraging that I am actually learning how to read music and play the piano. It hasn't been easy for Brian with me. But he's stuck with me and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend OTM to anyone from age 6 to 72 to give them a try. What have you to lose? My desire now is to be able to play piano at 10% of Brian's ability. I'm thrilled at how I've progressed. Not to infer I'm good or even decent but the important thing is I'm learning and enjoying myself. Brian is THE man. I can't possible say enough good things about him. So, again, if you are even considering taking up a musical instrument OTM is the place to start your quest. I'm very pleased to have this opportunity to share my experience. Who knows maybe I'll be able to play my favorite piece of music by Erik Satie's Gymnopedie I, before my 75th birthday. Brain thanks for being you. Just a side note; the staff at OTM is very supportive, knowledgeable and really nice people, especially Sara.

This is a great school to learn how to become a musician and / or vocalist, or to teach! There is a knowledgeable and friendly staff and dedicated, accomplished, experienced musicians and vocal instructors. The retail store and the individual studios are well stocked and equipped and always kept sanitized. A great place to buy equipment and to grow into a musician!

I highly recommend Rock University...My children have been participating in the Rock U program since 2014. If you have kids that are musically inclined and want to learn what it’s like to be a professional musician, this program is excellent. Over the past six years I have watched this program develop immensely. Mike and Dom are great instructors that dedicate themselves to the students and the program. If your kid is half as dedicated, they will have a great time and learn a lot.
