The new Connie Chung rest stop area in Bloomfield, NJ has been generating a lot of buzz since its opening in August 2023. Located at milepost 153 on the southbound side of the Garden State Parkway, it offers a variety of amenities for weary travelers, including a food court with Chick-fil-A, Burger King, and Starbucks, a convenience store, and clean restrooms. One of the most talked-about features of the new rest stop is the food court. Chick-fil-A, in particular, has been a major draw, with long lines often forming outside the restaurant. Other reviewers have praised the convenience of having a variety of food options under one roof, as well as the cleanliness of the facilities. However, not everyone has been positive about the new rest stop. Some reviewers have complained about the high prices of the food, while others have found the parking lot to be too small and crowded. Additionally, the decision to name the rest stop after Connie Chung, a controversial television journalist, has also drawn some criticism.Overall, the new Connie Chung rest stop area appears to be a mixed bag. While it offers some convenient amenities for travelers, the high prices and crowded parking lot may deter some visitors. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a place to stretch your legs on a long road trip, it's worth checking out. But if you're on a tight budget or looking for a more peaceful rest stop experience, you may want to keep driving. Here is a summary of the review:Pros:- Variety of food options, including Chick-fil-A, Burger King, and Starbucks- Clean restrooms- Convenient locationCons:- High prices

I went to two restaurants at this service location. It was during a weekday lunchtime and i was picking up lunch at two different restaurants. When i volunteered to do this lunch pickup I didn't anticipate the juggling needed to get everything and get to my car. As i was struggling a bit by the exit a voice behind me asked if i needed help to my car ... it was an employee of the management company! She carried everything to my car, patiently waited while i unlocked, etc., and refused to accept a tip!

Had to stop at the Connie Chung Service Area a couple of times in the past few weeks. A decent rest area, but I find it's better to park further away from the main entrance and walk, because it will be easier to leave your parking space later (cars wanting to park often block other vehicles trying to leave their spaces). Lines for Burger King & Chick-fil-A can be long. Bathrooms are clean.

Noce upgrade to what was here before. The restaurant choice is much improved and I love that a Starbucks and a Chick-fil-A is right around the corner from work.

I don't like the kiosk at this Burger King at all. It's very confusing. I ordered a medium Crispy Chicken combo, didn't want cheese but got two slices of cheese, might had paid extra for it. I had to pay $0.40 extra because I wanted a diet coke. I end up paying over $16 for a medium Crispy Chicken Combo. Literally a highway robbery!,?. I have to be fair that the staffs there are nice.

I went to go get free air from the machine and it was broken. When I went to inform the gas attendant that the air was broken, he explained to me because the air is free. They really don’t care if it works or not there’s another one you can pay for down the street by Bloomfield ShopRite. What a joke.

Really surprised to see that our 630 mile trip from Maryland to Maine, which always includes a stop in NJ, has a new favorite place. The Connie Chung Rest Area looks brand new; it is bright, clean and quite beautiful. I love that it is not huge. It is not far to walk from your car to the entrance. There is a Chick Fil-A, Burger King and Starbucks, too. Also-one of the best convenience snack/store areas seen in all our travels. The restrooms are actually beautifully designed and sparkling clean. It was very easy to get on/off Southbound Garden State Parkway, too, which when one is traveling 11 hours, makes this an easy choice!I would change one thing: Unless I missed it.... as you get off the exit, I didn't see the big "Cars" to the left, "Trucks" to the right sign. I recall a sign, just nothing definitively telling cars which way to go.

Burger King has inattentive obstructive staff, problematic ordering screens, cold fries.

The place is really nice and needed, but I didn’t give it 5 starts because the Chick-fil-a is owned by Apple Green and not a franchisee, so the usual polite and great service you’d expect at a real Chick-fil-a is missing.

Introducing... The Connie Chung service area!Yes, that's right. Broadcast news legend Connie Chung now has her very own park n' pee on the GSP. It seems, her image consultants have pushed her in the same "classy" direction that Maury went(yes, he was a real newsman once).Sure, it's a shiny new park n' pee but it's still a park n' pee. Does she really want to be remembered in that way?Clean and new with fast food and a convenience store. It's not a bad place to take a break after crossing the Tappan Zee, I hope they keep it clean.
