Salon Femi puts the clients hair care first. I have been going to this salon for years and have never been disappointed. If you want a honest stylist and healthy hair this is your salon!

I was charged $150 for a silk press, deep condition, and light trim. My hair didn’t last a day.

Nia is a great stylist. Remove one star because of difficulty in making an appointment. Hard to get through on the phone, then once you do finally get through, if you can get a booking, you are required to make a deposit with a credit card. It's not a good customer experience. They should move to an online booking system.

I want to give this woman above me #TammiFlava her flowers. She's been doing my hair for me since 2020 and even when I took a break and came back to her 2 years later she never seemed to fail me. Her hands are like magic. She executes every style I ask her to do for me. Let's not talk about the chill vibe you get while you're at the salon. I walk in feeling like an ugly duckling and leave feeling like a Queen. Here's to you .

90s throwback asinine salon behavior! As a professional, who values efficiency and respects the time of fellow high-functioning individuals, my experience with Salon Femi has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Initially, when I embarked on my natural hair journey with Nia back in 2017, I was thrilled. She not only respected my time but also provided invaluable guidance and professionalism, particularly as I dealt with the challenge of thinning hair. However, the excitement took a nosedive in 2023 when I decided to go blonde and was informed that Kenya, the owner, would be handling my transformation due to her expertise in this area. What began as a promising partnership quickly turned into a series of disappointments and frustrations. Despite my specific instructions regarding my time constraints, appointments with Kenya routinely started late, causing disruptions to my schedule and forcing me to compromise on essential aspects of my salon experience. What's worse, the duration of these appointments skyrocketed, with each visit stretching to an average of 4 to 5 hours, a far cry from the efficient service I had come to expect. The final straw came during my last appointment when I was left waiting for over two hours (before getting into the chair), only to be met with unprofessional behavior and subpar service. When I made the appointment, I explicitly informed the reservationist that I do not require accommodation and do not want to be "fit in". I indicated that I would come in another day if necessary. I was CLEAR about my desire to have an actual appointment time! So, you can imagine, it was surprising to meet the owner's dismissive attitude towards my having waited hours prior to getting into the chair and her blatant indifference about the health of my hair during the bleaching process. Further, during my service, the owner had her own hair bleached. She then proceeded to flaunt that, "see, I washed my hair before bleaching... I am not afraid of bleach, cutting my hair, etc." She was now mocking me for asking about the health of my hair! This coupled with a blatant disregard for basic hygiene practices, when product dripped into my eye, left me feeling utterly disrespected and undervalued as a customer. To add insult to injury, the exorbitant charges on my bill, including a markup for services not rendered as promised, further underscored the lack of integrity within the establishment. When handed the red ticket (see attached) after (6 hours) it included: * $65 for "blow dry styling," but received a mold with about an inch of hair. * $125 for a "double process" bleach, which was literally just her adding a second coat of bleach to my one-inch hair and not actually taking the time to remove the bleach and reapply a "second process",. * AND FINALLY, the $65 "conditioner" is $55 more than the stated $10+ deep conditioner on the website. Again, my hair is 1 inch. HOW is this reasonable? In conclusion, while I had hoped to continue supporting Salon Femi, I can no longer in good conscience recommend it to fellow discerning individuals who prioritize quality and professionalism. It pains me to say this, but the owner's leadership sets a disappointing precedent that I cannot overlook. Don't waist your time or money!

Came here for a relaxer after a friend's recommendation. Nice family run place. Got a relaxer with other treatment after being natural for quite some time ($325). My hair came out lovely. And the stylist, Kim was friendly. The owner was too. Very well run place and clean.Only thing is be ready for a possible wait. I waited for about 2 hours with a hair appointment. I believe the stylist was running behind, but a courtesy call would have been great. My first time there, and will return for hair maintenance, etc. Hopefully the service is consistent. Overall, it's a good spot.

This is a hard review to make. I'd give it a 3 in terms of cost:outcome then a 5 for the cleanliness, aesthetic, & owners ability to put me first in an effective way. For starters I was in an emergency situation and thankfully they could squeeze me in as a first timer and make my emergency less of the nightmare I imagined. Felt like a real miracle moment and I thought the owner handled my call effectively. Her admin was not so knowledgeable to help tend to me over the phone but thankfully the owner felt the need to take over the call. She decided to FaceTime me to see my state of emergency and assess (smart & effective on her part) & determine viability. I was able to go in, and she relaxed me by assuring they could handle my seemingly worst hair emergency. Now, the bad news is I paid $125 for my braids to start unraveling day 4. As she was braiding I was wondering if her straight-back method was the right method for how she'd cut my hair. Yet her confidence claimed I'd need to keep the braids for 2-3weeks then return for a refresh. They didn't even make it 1 week! Then, I call to address it & an admin or stylist says they don't do what I'm asking and essentially that was the only way the stylist could do my hair. I so hated the lack of concern for my hair and money, along with the brevity. I thought I was leaving with a new salon home. It was so free of dust, clean, & pretty. But, not sure it's going to satisfy my need. I still recommend though.

I'd like to start off by saying, that I've never been here before but there’s a first and last for anything. The woman who I assume to be the owner took a look at my hair giving me a little consult, while she ran he hands thru my hair, she held it like she was touching it like it was some other worldly germ, right before telling me I don’t need to feel anyway or embarrassed about the state of my hair that’s condescending.
I was then handed off to the hairdresser with the short hair was whose name started with a D. Immediately very controlling, telling me how to sit, how to move my body, it was irritating. I couldn’t feel less comfortable around these women. Hairdresser constantly telling me to stop moving my head while she takes a shaky Hand trying to drag thru dry hair with a hairdryer and a brush, no ma’am that was just gravity. Id sit still as rock, bending my head down wasn’t good enough, tilting my head wasn’t good enough, it’s like she was expecting me to operate like mannequin as tons of heat and dragging was applied to my head. I kept having to reassure her that I’m not moving.
At one point I was like, no I don’t like the atmosphere, I don’t like her delivery and wanted to cut it short and leave and they basically tried to say that I couldn’t “we don’t let customers leave out the house like that” well it wasn’t a welcoming home to begin with, I wanted out. I wanted the hairdresser to use the olaplaex bonding oil in my hair for heat damage sake, she didn’t know what it was and didn’t wanna use it, fair enough. $145 for a wash & blow, haircut and a straightening, I’d think this service came with some kind of good hospitality, nope, but it came with a nice haircut(only reason I gave 2 stars). From going to lower priced salons to coming here I expected better treatment. Never again!

Enjoyed my experience. However, I am disappointed because when I tried to make a followup appointment with the stylist. I was told that there is a deposit that has to be paid. I’m confused because when I booked my 1st appointment, I was never asked for a deposit. Very surprised and major turnoff. To be clear, it’s the inconsistency that I am displeased with.

Don’t come here if your on a budget. I came here just asking for a trim. They told me I had to do a consultation when I thought that was completely unnecessary because all I wanted was a trim. They told me I needed a keratin and scalp treatment. They kept Insisting on it and touching my hair like it’s the most damaged hair in the world. My scalp was fine since I do scalp treatments at home every week using a mielle product. But I felt so insulted by the way they were looking at my hair so I took the treatments. They charged me so much for something that didn’t give me life changing results. They also charged me for a haircut not a trim which makes a huge difference in price. I paid 300 dollars just for myself. And it was honestly not the most fantastic hair transformation. They kept charging me for so many unnecessary things and very expensive. My hairdresser also told me to come back in two weeks to do another treatment literally after I paid 300 dollars just for this visit she still wants more money from me. Please don’t come here if your on a budget and want to save money. I completely regret coming here and will never return.
