as someone who works there for not even a year yet the experience I have gotten is disgusting. I have been harassed and targeted as well as other employees that are younger than the front end runners, supervisors, managers and the store manager. They like to write people up for nothing, refuse to help the employees that go to school a change in scheduling, refuse to help those with doctors notes for anything regarding their health resulting in code blue (medical) being called to assist, they like to time people in the bathroom, they pick and choose who give respect to and who not to, they enjoy talking about their employees behind their back, they like to mess up the hours of the workers on purpose. I have been disrespected and written up four times; two times for going to the bathroom, one time for being on my phone all the time and not doing my job (A lot of the people in the front end want me to work with them because I am one of the best people there), and for doing a front runner's job (helping a customer figure out a sale in order to save money when I was asked to since the front runner was not where she was supposed to be at that time and was taking 20 to 30 minutes to come over). Just recently, a store manager and front runner was very disrespectful to a customer and didn't help or check up on her when she was sitting there for an hour and 30 trying to contact her bank because the machine didn't take her debit card. She had frozen items that was damaged and they were walking past her throughout the entire time. me and a cashier had to help instead doing their job for them and we got in trouble with the front runner.Other Things They Have Done/Didn't Do:- one of the front end runner's would rather flirt with a store manager than do her job and she takes forever to do it or come over to a register whenever someone needs help whether it is a customer or worker- one of the front end runner's like to get drunk on the job and one of the store manager's gives her alcohol while she is on the clock- front end runners are never in their spot when you need them and usually takes 20 to 30 minutes to come help out when they are called or to put a worker in a spot- doctor notes from pregnant women, disabled people, people with diabetes are being denied and they are being sent home because it didn't have an end date or it wasn't good enough even when they give multiple doctor notes- refusal of water up in the front and they throw them out but allows the front end runners to have Stanley cups filled with something- a supervisor likes to mess with people's hours by being petty and giving them less hours than they signed up for or more hours than they signed up for when they can't do something she asks (stay late or start early)- doesn't allow some people to leave at the time they are supposed to leave and gets upset when they catch an attitude (some people take the 72 bus and that bus is a gamble on when it is supposed to come or not)- the higher ups treat cashiers and baggers as children even when some of them are over 18- HR doesn't do anything when it is addressed, many people have called meetings and pointed out certain higher ups but allows the disrespect to happen and label it as a "misunderstanding" when they first hand witness it- there is a guy in customer service who is extremely disrespectful- front end runners makes baggers/cashiers do their jobs and gets upset when they do it resulting in a write up- allows stealing to happen in the break room and doesn't allow victims to see camera footage or tell them who stole their items and doesn't give the victim any help in the matter- allows harassment from older cashiers/disabled baggers/higher ups and gives certain people special treatment- racists and only picks on people of color (black and hispanic that are cashiers and baggers) but HR does nothing about it despite many people coming to him about itwhenever Neil Greenstein comes over (like today) they act like they are working. Brookdale Shop Rite has a serious problem. They like to make threats. Among other incidents......The Latest and final threat for me was this morning.I was told I would be banned from the Store this morning because I was caught two times buying more then 25 cans of cat food at the self check out.I check out at the self check because in the past, the girls at the regular check out lines would take a tantrum when I bought a lot of cat food. They claimed it was too many cans and was too much work to scan all of them.It got so bad, I had to buy my cat food at Stop and Shop for a while.I have spent countless thousands of dollars at that store over many years. Stop and Shop down the street will be quite happy to get my business from now on.Ever since Mark Greenstien retired, that store spiraled out of control. He was there every single day and ran that store with kindness.....the vultures took over.

I stopped in this shoprite on the way home today for the 1st time. The people working were so nice. Anyone I asked for help, they knew the aisle right off the top of their head and were so willing to help. I even saw a an employee on the way out help an older woman get on the scooter so she should start her shopping. Great job to all!

1st time shopping at this Shoprite and I am very impressed with the wide selection of products. Store well stocked. Wide isles and clean floors. Friendly employees.

So, I went to this ShopRite to get a cake, flowers and balloons for my grandmother. Just to have the lady in the florist area to be extremely rude! I waited a good 15 mins after the customers in front of me were done with their order. That was cool, however! The women NEVER acknowledge me nor even gave me any eye contact. I am a very tall lady so I am sure she saw me standing there.I walked towards her and asked her politely how much was the red vases. She immediately gave me the nastiest response.I also work in customer service/corporate so I never try and approach anyone in a rude manner. Or give any problems because that is just not me. I'm soft spoken so she then went on and roughly grabbed the vase and looked on the inside and stated in a very nasty demeanor "I don't how much it is" with a shoulder shrug and with the meanest attitude. I then asked so you aren't able to help me. She then said "I don't know, what you want" again the same demeanor and attitude. I stood there in disbelief because I stood there and she showed no effort to even try to help or try and accommodate to help me get a vase for the flowers I was purchasing.I went to the customer service desk, to let them know what happened and sadly I don't think she even mentioned it to the manager on that shift. She was nice and seemed as she was concerned. Her name was Debra. I asked to make a complaint. Although she didn't go get the manager she just said she would let them know. I'll be sending my complaint via another route. That lady at the flourish shouldn't be there. She has no customer service skills at all.

Thank you to the bakery department for the cakes done very well and at very reasonable prices. I had tried to get simple wedding themed cakes to acknowledge nuptials for members of my church congregation who were recently married. Most bakeries i had tried were charging prices starting at $250 each. Someone recommended that i try Shoprite bakery. After speaking to a cake decorator at ShopRite Brookdale she understood exactly what i was looking for. She formerly worked at Pathway bakery in downtown Newark, Nj many years ago a place i was very familiar with and knew the quality of their work. She didn't disappoint at all. The cakes were designed perfectly. The couples along with our congregation were raving about the cakes. We all agreed it matched or topped some of the best bakeries familiar to our area.The prices were very reasonable we got (2) 10" cakes and (2) 5" cakes for under $130 total. Thank you for meeting my bakery needs.

After being an extremely loyal customer I will easily never shop here again. I regularly used their pickup service as I have a toddler and crazy schedule- this evening I checked in to the spot shortly before my 1/2 hour pickup window closed..I waited 30 more min!!! Nothing- call the store/department and they tell me, sorry they are still shopping your order. It’s almost done. What?!? Still shopping.. ?!??—you couldn’t tell me via the app or a phone call not to waste my time!? I left the store after over 30 min sitting around for nothing. I won’t use this ShopRite ever again. They’re excuse “we are short shoppers this eve” —then they shouldn’t have booked so many slots if they can’t fulfill them. My toddler was screaming in car seat and now I have to go shop somewhere else tomorrow and further inconvenience my schedule because they’re disorganized and didn’t even have the gumption to let me know how late they were running— also: to add salt to the wound- They were filling door dash-or some delivery people’s cars with Massive orders the whole time I was waiting.. yet my “measly” $100 of groceries clearly wasn’t a priority. I’ll be taking my regular food shopping elsewhere.

They are selling EXPIRED Nestle Sweetened Condensed Milk. Every single can is expired. This is the second location to do so. Nestle must of have making these because all of the can state “before before Sep/2023”. It’s a shame that they keep these on the shelf. I even took all the expired cans to the register last time. Looks like they just put them back on the shelf. Worst part is that they will give an automatic pre-generated response to this review. They simply don’t care about the community and people’s health.

This is my favorite grocery store in my area. The have really friendly staff and they are always ready to answer any questions and get you the help you need when you need it. The store is also always really clean and well-stocked so I never have to worry about them not having what I want. I'm thankful for this grocery store being around!

Need more registers. Refuse to use self check out. Cashier & sacker very nice & personable. Think u should lower your prices, no reason for so much stuff overpriced

I have been a customer at this shoprite since the 1970's and worked there from 1976 till 1980, under Reno, Danny, Gil, and Mark Greenstein. Today, I unknowingly brought a puppy into the store, unaware of their pet policy. I can understand their choice in pet policies, however, my disappointment comes from the fact that I was very rudely approached by security who, rather than calmly explaining their policy, frantically demanded that the puppy be removed from the premises immediately. I had to leave the carriage mid aisle, while he even followed me long enough to make sure i did not sneak back into one of the aisles. Rudeness towards customers , was never tolerated while I worked there, it is disappointing to see such a change in management's attitude.

The pick up area here has the rudest workers. Go to any other shoprite. This young girl just walked up to my car window, held her hand out without saying anything. She wants my credit card which is fine but, when I ask the total she replies “they didn’t tell me” with an attitude and takes my credit card and walks away. When she returns my card, she doesn’t say a word.. so I open my trunk let her put my groceries in the back and I just drive off.Who the hell is training these kids to be so rude. Never again will I order from here.
