The worst produce, selection, customer service and Clearly Racist and Incompetent Manager & assistant Manager. Rude, irresponsible, and inept. It's okay to hire mentally challenged people but store manager is pushing it

Rating refers to today's visit only. I stopped in today for two items, one was deli ham. At 1:15 there was one deli clerk working, three customers ahead of me. Ticket machine was broken but the clerk greeted me and told me I was next after man in black jacket. The first customer took a long, long time. Not the clerks fault, but there should have been two people working. Second customer took even longer buying a big order and trying out different items while deciding. Finally, the clerk started to help man in the black jacket. In a few minutes a second clerk came out and started putting on his apron. The first clerk told me to move over to the other slicer and new guy would help me. New guy asked me what I wanted. He then went to look for some gloves, wandering all over the area. then he took out a little brush and started to clean the slicer. Over and over. He. cleaned for five minutes. Then he turned around and looked in the case for the ham that I had asked. for. He picked one up,Unwrapped it looked at it for a few minutes and put it back. then he picked up another one, did the same thing, put it back. he dug around in the case for a couple of minutes. Then he went into the back, and never returned.By this time, the first clerk had also disappeared. So I left. Wasted 20-25 minutes and never got what I came to buy. Ended up driving to a deli in Montclair for my ham!I generally have no issues shopping at this store so I'm not sure if my 3-star rating is really fair. I just seem to have run into a clerk who didn't want to work today.

Mr. Lee in the deli was very rude!! He held up my order by stoping to speak with his co-workers. Then when he was done w/one of my requests, I tried to tell him what I wanted next and he very rudely told me, 'wait...one thing at a time'. At the end of my order, there was no 'thank you, have a nice day' or anything.

Well, just when this place couldn't sink any lower, I went on 5/17 and was informed that this stop and shop location no longer supplies customers with baskets for carrying groceries around the store... you know, those baby-carrier sized plastic boxes with handles... when a cart is overkill but 3-4 items gets tricky to handle? I of course asked what happened to those half carts half Easter candy holders and was told the following:"Ever since the new bag laws in NJ, customers steal baskets, and we went from having 95 to 45 in a few weeks."So--- instead of:1. Deterring theft of baskets, 2. Getting more baskets to replace those lost, OR3. At least leaving the remaining 50 baskets out for customers to use (and implementing #1 as protection from losing more)Nooe... now your choices are buy a cartload of $300 groceries or limit your purchase to what you can hold in your hands without dropping it.When the response / solution is far dumber and damaging to customers than the problem you're attempting to solve.... You're terrible at your job

My god - the bathroom is an absolute, literal Sh*tstorm. I couldn't believe my eyes. Okay it may have been a patron but I'm sure they were made aware because the nastiness reached the ceiling so whatever exploded in there (or should I say whomever) had to have reached managers to delegate a cleanup. It's a reflection on your employees since everyone knows that is the rest room they must use so how clean are those hands that are putting things away on the shelves, scanning your groceries or pushing buttons on the screens at self service? I'm about to vomit writing this review.

I started shopping at the location in Bloomfield and they had alot of the stuff that i usually get from Shop Rite and they are not that JJ ñ especially if you utilize their rewards card where they have digitilized coupons that load straight to the card.I also loved the fact that this location used to stay open buy 12am unfortunately this changed a few weeks And because i work so late it was convenient. Other than that. Not too bad.

There were no carts or baskets at the entrance. The check out lines are ridiculous. The lines are all the way to the back of the store for 2 , I repeat 2 cashiers open and the line for the self checkout is back to the bakery department. This is unacceptable. Remember these people waiting in these lines have chosen to give you their money. I shopped else wear while you rearranged the store and now it’s such a major disappointment to come back. I’ve spoken to management and the reply is always “ we can’t force people to come to work” . Here’s a thought , fire them and hire people who are team players who want to work.

And it happened again! After avoiding this Stop 'n' Shop for some time, I had to do my shopping there last week. I purchased a jar of Marie's Super Blue Cheese dressing, at almost $5. Why, why, why, given my past experiences, didn't I check the date? When I opened the dressing tonight it was, as jars in the past were, separated and greasy. The expiration date was JUNE 5, 2021!Over two months ago. This is why I've been spending extra money to have my groceries delivered from ShopRite. When I'm in the area, I go to the Stop 'n' Shop in Clifton. What a dump.

Extremely rude pharmacist that picked up the phone today around 1:50pm who clearly did not want to help the customer. As soon as he picked up he seemed annoyed that he had to do it and he kept the same tone throughout the whole call (which really only lasted 2 minutes) refusing to answer questions but rather just being rude and annoyed. I called to get a prescription ready as I always do, but for some reason, this pharmacist did not think that was a good reason to call as his first response picking up the phone was “well maybe you should just do it on the app”. As much as I appreciate that technology offers this option, calling in is still a valid way of doing so, and this sort of service is simply rude and unacceptable.

After 15 years of going to that pharmacy without problem today one pharmacy tech didn’t want to help me with my husband refill, she was so rude since the beginning. Not even a good morning or a smile. If I can give her 0 starts I’ll give it to her. I’m so upset

I have found many sugar free products at Stop and Shop, because I have diabetes.
