Signed up for barbell class as a free class and the trainer was nice and patient..but he was judge mental in my opinion. He told me CrossFit is for people who have an active lifestyle. Very rude comment and have found a CrossFit place with coaches and trainers who are kind to beginners. I’d say if you’re a beginner don’t come here..not beginner friendly at all.

What a great establishment. Very clean and welcoming. The staff is very knowledgeable in the forms. If I was a beginner I would feel very safe and welcomed. I dropped in for a week and what a great atmosphere. I loved the size of the gym and the workouts. Definitely be back

Just came from early morning Olympic lifting class after having done “Oly” the night before. (don’t worry, last night was snatches and this morning was cleans) It got me thinking about the other Specialty classes this week - Endurance and Gymnastics on Monday night and Barbell class on Tuesday night and how I’m still sore (in a good way) from those classes. It also got me thinking about how well designed the Specialty workouts are and how well coached they are. It doesn’t matter your fitness or skill level, there’s always a modification so that you can start somewhere and measure your progress each week. I can’t say enough about the coaching at this gym and how each and every one of the coaches are both knowledgeable and patient and really care about each member and work with them to make tweaks in form in order to help them achieve success. This is really what separates this gym from others from a coaching standpoint. The WOD’s (workout of the day) which I do just about everyday as well and that’s because I always read them and say to myself “ooh this is going to be a good one” and I tell people that the best part about each WOD is that you just show up and it’s written out for you. There’s no getting to the gym and trying to figure out what to do that day. Also, each WOD is designed to hit different muscle groups and coordinated in a way so that you can do it each day without repeating the same exercises in that week. If you’re competitive (as I can be), then, there’s that aspect too since it’s such a community atmosphere here and we push each other and cheer for each other, but, we can also look at the board to see what others are doing and quietly try to beat those scores. It’s always friendly rivalries that develop especially when you’re working out right next to someone and that’s where the competitive spirit comes out, but, always in a good way since we’re all here to improve ourselves both physically and mentally. The owner of the gym (also a coach) is highly involved and takes the time to get to know each new member that comes through the door and always projects a positive vibe into the gym. He’s passionate about fitness and is always looking for different ways to improve the fitness experience from a mental and physical aspect. If you’ve never been to Chimney Rock CrossFit, then, check it out some Saturday morning and see what a fun way it is to start your weekend or come down on Monday morning and start your week off in a positive way, you won’t be sorry!

Today was my first day back at the gym and I’m so thankful to have gotten in there and to see that everyone was following the rules. It wasn’t crowded at all and everything was immaculate.

Hands down the best gym I've been to, private or commercial. Billy, Kate and all the coaches are very welcoming and knowledgable. There is a strong community of regulars who range in age and skill but everyone is encouraging and helpful.Oh, they also support the local community, too, which is great - 5ks, fundraisers, etc. It's the real deal.I've moved and sadly have to find a new gym, but will 100% be coming back when I'm in town. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend it! I dropped in from out of town after eating copious amounts of Christmas cookies over holiday break. The staff and other cross fitters were very warm and welcoming and friendly. I had a great work out and didn’t get hurt. Huge spacious facility with more than enough equipment. Coach Lauren and owner Billy were great! I plan to come again next time I’m in town.

At age 49 (2.5 years ago) my wife tricked me into working out at Chimney Rock CrossFit. I had always known CrossFit was an academically excellent exercise program, but I did not think I could keep up. I have always been overweight and do not consider myself an athlete. I was floored at how friendly, welcoming, and nonjudgmental all the coaches were. The value of not having to engineer my own workout has been tremendous. I love being supervised during our workouts. The coaches watch me and prevent me from performing the motions expected with poor form, thereby protecting me from injury and imbalance. To this day I still am intimidated by the workouts when I walk in the door. When I leave after the workout, I feel grounded as I’ve achieved something important. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, and feel happier and healthier than ever before. I thought I knew how to work out well on my own. I didn’t. I consider my membership an investment in my life and the life of my family. I feel grateful and blessed to have found this place.

The best gym I’ve ever belonged to! The coaches are so willing and able to help with form and motivation. The members are also ready and willing to help and to encourage! I look forward to each workout and never feel bored. I always feel pushed and continue to see gains each week. CrossFit helped me get back into shape after 3 kids and I am so thankful!

I have been a Chimney Rock Crossfit member for almost four years and can't imagine belonging to any other gym. It's my happy place where I always feel supported and encouraged. The gym offers teen classes, and my kids love attending them. Workouts can be modified for any level of fitness and strength. The owner Billy is compassionate and kind, and all coaches are professional and knowledgeable. You will not regret checking out Chimney Rock Crossfit!

Two words: Life changing. When you sign up, you’re not just getting a gym membership that (with hard work, consistency and dedication) will help you meet your fitness goals - you’re also joining a community of positive, supportive, hilarious like-minded people. The coaches work with you at whatever level you are, whether you’re brand new to CrossFit or switching boxes. This place has been a source of sanity and happiness for me during this crazy time in our lives. I’m so thankful to be a part of this community and I promise you will be too!
